JB gets no pass on offense...he was lazy and didnt grow up once he got more veteran talent in. JB NEVER WANTED TO USE HIS BENCH. You got championship teams like Golden State that use lots of bench players in games...JB would only use his bench when FORCED TO when injuries happen. Once everyone is healthy, the stubbornly goes back to matchups that hamstrung us...the two small guard and two center line up SUCKED and didnt produce as much as when we had our injury lineups, we staggered our guards/centers and when used our bench extensively --which JB hated to do

JB was good for the rebuild. Now the Cavs need a championship type coach whose resume the players respect. As for the roster, I don’t know why the Cavs didn’t bring up Emoni, and at least have the young man available so he could get a taste of what playoff basketball is like. He is a phenom and the Cavs need to take the kid gloves off. The Cavs run so much pick and roll because they didn’t have a dynamic scorer on the wings. Bates is all that now, this early in his career. The next coach has to utilize his talent if the Cavs are become a true contender for the title.

Point well said never got a small forward or power forward with some height with shooting ability. Sould have fired the Gm as well.

It’s like the Mark Jackson/ Steve Kerr situation, team needed a new voice to take them to the next level that’s all it is. JB did a good job getting them there, but should have been gone the minute Cavs traded for Mitchell

Name Terry Stotts the HC. Add Johnny Bryant and Dave Joeger to his staff.

Great defensive rating was an illusion created by slow pace last season. Top rating disappeared when Cavs played a bit faster. I hope next coach developes a high post offence run through Jarret Allen, his passing ability was impressive during the January win streak.

Performance of bigs was so bad against Knicks last season. Gilbert is probably fed up with nepo coaching. Many fans are.

In a weak east, with a decent roster of talent kinda hard not to make the playoffs. Most people were complaining about jb throughout the year regardless.

Frank Vogel is best option, he's won a chip. Most experienced coach on the market... Don't trade anyone, give him a chance to devise an offensive system that works for the starters...

JB was the scapegoat. He did what he could with the rosters they gave him. He had his players play hard. I believe it was more so a talent disparity of in comparison to the rest of the East. He wasn't a bad coach. No one is blaming the management for lack of a roster. Many of these star players, if true in this case, don't like the coaches for some odd reason. I don't know WTF the f*** y'all but he did a good job. If you noticed...the player played hard without Mitchell. The Celtics just had better overall talent.

I respect the take, and I'm no JB hater, but the Cavs were never consistent. Played hard some nights, looked confused and disengaged some nights. Couldn't keep the starters playing with pace. Some of his lineups just didn't make sense.

@@JK-ig6sk When your team is not a good offense, of course there's going to be inconsistency. When your bigs can't really shoot and your starting guards are small, that's a recipe for failure. You can't win with that in the NBA.

JB seems like a great guy but little development with Mobley and played the starters too mamy minutes. Had one of the best 3 point shooters $$ Merril wasting away on the bench and when he gets into the game JB has him constantly taking charges and getting smashed.

I'm torn, JB was able to put together a good team and they improved every year, but I was concerned about him losing the locker room and possibly mobley's development and maybe the minutes of some of the players.
