Something that always amazes me about Angelina is that people seem to recognize they are hearing something special within the first few words they hear her sing. You have a LOT more to hear from this genius. And you asked to know a little more about her, so for you and anyone else new to Angelina, here is a little bio so that you can learn a little more about her background and her kind and caring soul....... *Angelina Jordan* - Angelina Jordan was born Jan 10 2006 in Oslo, Norway. She is currently 16 - She began singing at the age of one and a half - At 2 or 3 she discovered Jazz through her grandmother and started studying all the greats from Jazz history with youtube videos. - *Why Angelina always sings barefoot* - When Angelina was 6 years old, she was traveling with her grandmother and met a poor girl with no shoes trying to make money on the streets. They talked for a while and discussed their dreams. It was cold and the girl had scars on her feet. Seeing this, Angelina took off her shoes and gave them to the girl. The girl thanked her and told Angelina she would pray for her every day. That day Angelina made a vow to always sing barefoot until all the children of the world could have shoes. To this day, whenever Angelina is performing in public, she sings barefoot as a way to remember that little girl and to remind us that there are less fortunate people in the world that could use our help. Angelina holds so true to this promise that she has sung outdoors in Norway, in december... barefoot. She has sung at a dinner with ex-pres Obama... barefoot. She went on AGT (possibly the biggest stage in the world)...bare foot. She made a promise at 6 years old, and has stuck strong to it for years. That takes a special kind of person. - She has always been the driving force behind her own singing career. It was her that asked her mother to take her to Norways Got Talent, where she auditioned at 7 years old and went on to win the whole show at just 8 years old. - In an interview after the show, when asked what she was going to do with the prize money, the 8 year old replied, "I would like to give it to orphans that need clothes and shoes" - When Angelina was 9 years old she became the youngest published author in Norway, when she wrote a book about the story of why she doesn't wear shoes when she sings. She donated proceeds from the sales of the book to help children in need. - The reason you may not have heard of her is because her parents are very protective of her childhood. After she won NGT, they did not want her to be thrust into stardom before she had a chance to grow up as a normal child, and get her education. They allowed her to do a few select shows (mainly private and charity events) with a couple public shows every year when she is out of school. Her mother said in an interview that they have turned down 90% of the offers that came in. Over the years since NGT, they have turned down offers from many major record labels and even disney. - Angelina has covered more than 160 songs and over 70 artists. She always selects the songs herself... everything ranging from old classic jazz to modern pop. She is able to change her voice to match any song she sings and make it her own. (she can cover Amy Winehouse and Lana del Rey like nobody else) - Angelina has collaborated with some very big names over the last few years... Quincy Jones, Mark Ronson, David Foster, Alan Walker and many more. It amazes me too Rusty, with regards to the effect of her singing is quickly felt its like an alarm that goes off inside and your heart and mind melt with your gut instinct and in that moment YOU KNOW you are in the presence of something meaningful and special and you're like Oh..My...God this is it! Dean I swear you ain’t seen nothing yet, she was 13 then she’s now 16 and the best vocalist on the planet. Barefoot Princess, Queen of Jazz, Girl with a 1000 voices are all her nicknames. She always perform in public barefoot for a humanitarian reason that others Angels (her fans) will explain. She's 13 years old here, considered a child prodigy that loves jazz, won Norway's Got Talent at the tender age of 7 years old, been singing since she was 1 1/2 years old, has over 150 videos of covers and some original music on KZread, her die-hard fans are called Angels, and she is known as The Barefoot Princess/The Barefoot Princess of Jazz. Why does she always perform barefoot? When Angelina was 6 years old, she met a homeless girl around her age in Iran. The girl did not have any shoes, and Angelina says her feet were scarred. After talking for a few minutes, Angelina gave the girl her own shoes. Angelina said she asked the little girl what her dream was, and the girl responded that she wanted to be a doctor. Angelina told her to “never give up.” In return, the girl told Angelina she would pray for her, and asked her to “remember me. There’s no reason for you to believe this after hearing one song, but Angelina is easily one of the best singers in the world. In my opinion-the best. I have followed her for 4 years & have heard all her songs, most 100's of times. She is the most versatile vocal artist I've ever seen & is literally a human jukebox. Jazz/Blues is her core but she has dabbled in many other genre, but so far, no opera. This was pre-recorded at the end of 2019, so her voice has matured a lot in the las 2 1/2 years. If you watch it from the beginning, she is being interviewed backstage briefly. Then, she comes onstage, and Heidi Klum mentions that Angelina won Norway's Got Talent in 2014. She asks Angelina how old she was when she won, and she says "seven." Actually, she auditioned at 7 with Billie Holiday's "Gloomy Sunday," killed it, and went on with 3 other performances over the next several weeks, winning after she'd turned 8. Then, Heidi asks how old she is here, and she says "13," which she was. She turned 14 just a short time afterwards on January 10, 2020. She is now 16 years old, has the looks of a supermodel, the heart and soul of an empath, the humility of a saint, and some of the most incredible vocal pipes of the last 100 years!

I have , like many others, listened to Angelina every day for years. She has a good effect on you. What I particularly like is to see new reactors. There have been many all of different characters from very loud heavy metal enthusiasts who shout at the mike to voice coaches who are often quiet and knowledgeable but the result is always the same. Within seconds their faces change and the Angelina effect takes over. Truly unique.

If you have read the bios from Rusty and Andy, then you have a great start to understanding just how special this girl is. If you want to go way back, you could check out the recording of "I Who Have Nothing" done at her school when she was about 6 or 7. One of her first times in a real studio. Or you could check out the 4 performances from Norway's Got Talent. At some point though, you will have to see "I Put A Spell On You" the B&W version when she was 9. It will amaze you, it is her own arrangement based on the original by Scream'in Jay Hawkins. Her version is how the song was meant to be sung hands down imo. Unfortunately the 1st part of this video clip appears to have been cut off - & it's in that introduction where we learn that Angelina won Norway's Got Talent in 2014 -at the age of 7 - & that she was 13 at the time of this performance. I would highly recommend going back to all 4 of her NGT performances (Gloomy Sunday, I'm A Fool To Want You, Bang Bang & Summertime). And - since each is a short talent show clip - suggest one of the compilation videos covering all 4. Angelina is 13 at the time of this performance. You should definitely follow this with the black & white version of I Put A Spell On You. Most people think it's a beautiful song, but not all appreciate the level of amazing it is. Angelina has been performing barefoot since she was 6 years old. she met a young homeless girl who was the same age as her while her family was on vacation in the middle east in 2012. they were walking around the city and they came upon some street merchants. Angelina went and sat on the side of the road with the little girl and they talked. Angelina asked the little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up and she said she wanted to be a doctor so she could help people but she didnt think that would ever happen because of her circumstances. Angelina told her she could do what ever she wanted to do, to just not give up. then the young girl asked Angelina what she wanted to be when she grows up and Angelina told her she wanted to be a superstar, a singer. the young girl told Angelina she would pray for her and she knew because she was such a good person that god would help her make her dreams come true. during this conversation, the little girl told Angelina how much she liked her shoes, they are so pretty. the little girl didnt own any shoes and her feet were all scarred up from being barefoot all the time. There are so many very good young singers out there, but Angelina Jordan is not just a singer... Angelina is an artist, she paints amazing stories with her sounds. A vocal coach recently commented - her techniques are amazing, but there is a very pertinent magic about her. There is a long and winding road ahead of you, just enjoy the journey!

she was 14 years old wen she sang this she also won norways got talent at the age of 7 i think it was and also she never wears shoes when she performs as she is raising awareness that a lot of people cant afford shoes etc gods bless her and god bless u all i myself are going through a very hard time right now as my wife died and i feel so alone and in so much pain so what i wanna say is always tell ur loved ones that u love them as life is far too short and u never know what can happen as my wife one minute she was fine and next minute she was taken away from me

One important thing to remember about AJ is that she owns the rights to everything she sings. She refused to sign for a record deal through AGT and they relented and invited her to sing anyway. She began singing at 18 months and due to her grandmothers influence, she was drawn to and fell in love with jazz and blues music. She has been arranging most, if not all of her music performances since she was 8 years old. Currently in 2022 she still performs barefoot, sews her own clothes, (the cloth is designed by her grandmother) and she stands 6 feet tall at 15 yeats old! We all hope to enjoy her performances for many years to come. BTW I'm 80 and have been involved privately in music since age 7.
