Two things that will help you recognize Donghun. He's been told he has "the saddest eyes" in A.C.E and he does. He jokes about it but sometimes still gets a little annoyed when people mention it because he's not feeling sad at the time! I'm someone who laughs about how I used to struggle knowing my K-Pop idols apart and now I can ID them from the corner of their eye or whatever, but there are some that their lips/smile never fail as a positive ID. Donghun is one of them. If you take a good look at his lips and smile, you will be able to always recognize him in the future. His resting face does look sad at first glance, but when he smiles, the sun comes out, lol. As for the concept behind "Higher," there is definitely a "merman" feel to it. The lyrics do talk about taking a risk for love and also that love can be felt even when it isn't seen(the line about recognizing the loved one through the wind.) I think that Donghun's epic prickly outfit made with zip ties is a nod to their recurring cactus theme that sometimes shows up. If you notice there is a part of the MV that looks like it takes place inside a botanical garden and there are cacti/succulents in one of the areas. The "Higher" stage performances/dance practice are very beautiful, showing more of the choreo. They have some stage performances that won't get blocked, like a showcase one.

Siren: Dawn is just...ugh the whole thing, from the videos, to the songs, to the visuals is so beautiful that it makes me want to cry like I'm looking at beautiful art.

Yes, H.Cue is a French DJ and producer. He reached out to A.C.E for the collaboration after discovering A.C.E’s MVs; the collaboration came out a few months after Take Me Higher was released.

Yes Hcue is a French DJ and he personally asked A.C.E to collab with him for I Feel So Lucky because he loved their style and their dancing, I like the beat of I Feel So Lucky but I do think the lyrics are pretty cheesy lol Seeing them perform it live though?? *chef's kiss* for real lol Yes Donghun's eyebrow piercing was real but it got infected so he took it out, he also had a real nose piercing during Favorite Boys (Goblin) era but he took that one out as well. The "If You Heard" music video is footage from the World Tour and in that included the US lol I saw them in concert in New York for this tour when I used to live there! Personally I'm not really into slow songs all that much (with the exception of Onewe) so their harder concept is something I really love but I still like their slower songs too and I liked Higher as a title track too (not that Higher is a slow song). I'm sad that we have to wait two years but I can't wait for them all to comeback with their full length album! Higher is a "Siren" concept which are greek mythological creatures who lured nearby sailors with their enchanting music and singing voices to shipwreck on the rocky coast of their island. Most people think Sirens look like mermaids but actually they were most often described as a creature with the body of a bird and the head of a woman but mermaids are definitely prettier for a concept like this so I excuse this xD They really went into water tanks for those album photos and the concept photos, the styling and concept for this album was top notch!

Yeah, the visuals of the Higher era are definitely their best, especially since a rare thing in kpop happened that every member looks better with these looks, especially Donghun with the long hair murdered every Choice cuz with his bone structure that hair brought out his gorgeous features ridiculously well

Okay but did Chan nearly break your wrist too with his high five? lol I saw them in San Francisco in 2019 and I was so focused on his beautiful smile that the strength of his high five actually made me flinch lmao

One time I accidentally got into an ACE photo-op for free at a kpop convention and when I tell you these boys are such talented performers live and ridiculously beautiful in person/up close. I wasn't following their music at the time but now it's one of my most cherished memories and photos. I sat next to Chan for the photo and now years later he ended up being my bias lmao. So glad you're stanning them now, they're criminally underrated.

funfact : stand by you is produced and gifted to A.C.E by one of my favorite singer and songwriter kim feel , that man is a genius and his voive convey so much and so full of feels just like his name .

I also love many of their lighter b-sides. Clover, Mr. Bass, and Holiday are great. However you must watch some covers. A.C.E are kings of covers..... Vocals to die for--- In My Blood, Easier, Empty Space, Love Poem, Someone You Loved, and for performance with vocals they did Vixx's On and On and EXO 's Obsession are all must sees.

I'm really loving this A.C.E journey! And I love that you love them too. I watched the I Feel so Lucky reaction (thank you for the separate link). I didn't know the song. I thought it was fun, they did a great job with the vocals. Jun is my bias (along with BK; they're still fighting it out, but Jun is winning lately), so yeah. But it did feel "Western", I agree If you heard is a sweet song with backstage clips dedicated to fans. It's really cute Stand by You is a very heartfelt song. I like it and their vocals shine, although I prefer their more impactful songs Higher is a masterpiece MV. The visuals are stunning and I really like the choreo. I really love Donghun with this look. I think he's very handsome in general but my favorite looks of his are this one, the one in Changer and the one with black hair and glasses. They really bring out his features. Thanks for unpacking the album for us.

For “If You Heard,” they put the English translation on the description box. What he wrote on the paper is the title of the song. For “Stand By You” she is looking at their name tags. One of the shots near the end are the name tags with their full names on it. I also prefer their slower songs so I tend to listen to their b-sides more. Siren:Dawn had some of the prettiest vocals from them and I listened to it so much that all the songs in it ended up on my Spotify Wrapped last year. I was so sad that we only got an official live stage of two songs from there since the promotion for that album got cut short; although I think some fans have posted videos of them here on KZread singing all of them from their online fan meets/concert. If you loved “Stand By You,” then I think you’ll also love the Chan/Jun/Donghun collab with a ballad songwriter called “First Love.” There’s an official music video for it in the same exact format as “Someone You Loved.” There’s also an OT5 version here on KZread via Idol Radio’s channel.

I definitely recommend their b-side "Talk You Down" 👌👌👌👌👌I believe it's in their Dear Eris mini album. I have that song on loop lol

I think Higher is my favorite concept that A.C.E has done so far. They're all so beautiful and so is the song. The fact that they're supposed to be sirens makes a lot of sense. If you look at some of the edits, it's looks like they're under water the whole time.

Yeah you will see most of the outfits from the mv in the albums (plus some special), so lucky again, you got wow/donghun, wow/jun/donghun, only donghun (image change), i really wanted most of these, i have soft Spot For hyung line, but im broken 😅 hope you get different members units in the other albums (theres not many combinations, is like their unit concept photos, sadly not every posible pair happened) but still thank you For sharing with us

So, funny story. There was once A.C.E was busking in New York, idk where, but I had happen to be in New York on the same day and I didn't find out until they uploaded a video performance of it. I still think about just how close I was to A.C.E that day. I also went to a DreamCatcher concert in New Jersey and found out while I was there that A.C.E had performed at the same venue a week prior. This both happened in December 2019, I apparently had 2 close brushes with A.C.E xD

siren:dawn, as the album name suggests- Higher is about them being Sirens. Also, this album has an intro *Miserere mei deus* and choice were shook with their vocals when it was dropped as a trailer. Stand by you makes you emotional for no reason at all! I'm guessing you may fall in love with one of these b-sides: *Story* or *Remember us* . *Talk you down* may also snatch your attention!! If you ever do an album listen reaction, I'll really look forward to these b-sides :D

Stand By You brings tears to my eyes every time

another A.C.E reaction !!! feeling really spoiled right now ngl. Stand by you is definitely one of their prettiest songs, the vocals, the instrumentals, the lyrics and the mv are just a masterpiece. If you liked the more "chill" songs or the ones that show off their vocals i recommend these b-sides: "So sick", "All i want is you" and "My Lover" (those 2 are Japanese singles), "Clover", "Baby tonight", "Story", "Talk you down" and "Remember us" (careful with that one because Wow sings like 80% of the song and it's sad af)

Stand By You is another fan song which was written by someone else and the reason it's special is because it's part of their MV story universe. There's a webtoon also based on Stand By You.

My boy groups ults are A.C.E, Onewe, Pentagon and Seventeen. You've now fallen in the deep end with a.c.e and Seventeen. You should really react to Onewe and Pentagon sometime. You love the beautiful ballads with great vocals and real instruments, which ONEWE has lots of. Pentagon has lots of cute, fun songs, they also have great power vocals, like using real instruments in quite a bit of their music, and are self producing.

I don’t know if you’ve reacted to them at all yet, but since you like some of the more traditional song structure/heavy vocals music, you should DEFINITELY check out ONEWE. They’re the “brother band” to ONEUS (in fact, there are twin brothers, one in each group.) ONEWE is an actual band and they have some of the most gorgeous songs I’ve ever heard (my favorites being Regulus and Rain to Be.) The main vocalist YongHoon has my favorite voice in kPop after my ULT/God Taemin. It’s GORGEOUS. GORG. EOUS. Also all the members are beautiful which makes things even better!

Nobody warned you that "i feel so lucky" could be blocked? That's because the DJ is French and EU artists are protected like that (their work) among other things. Thanks for your reaction anyway. How it came about (explained in the giude of 2019) in short; the DJ saw "callin" on youtube and contacted Beat. He wrote and composed the song, the boys did a choreography for it (which was probably not considered, but the boys were apparently too bored just to sing?.?).

Day6 is of course iconic, ONEWE is also amazing and my personal fav kband is N.Flying. them, and also so many other kbands are incredible, like you said their music all feels organic and truly from THEM as artist and as a group. and the best part is they're all silly and crazy in their own fun ways ^^ of course it's not exactly the same, but from your reactions I've watched so far I feel like we have some similarities in taste so maybe you'd enjoy those bands if you ever get the chance to check them out!!
