Monbebean Yeah I’m ok, he had an obsessive fear of something bad happening to me so he would follow me to class and work everyday or have other people check up on me when he was away to “make sure I was there”. It was really weird because for a long time I didn’t know about it; he was hung out in my friend group, but I didn’t know him that well. But he told me he developed an obsession when we got to high school because I “seemed so much more depressed” than when I was in middle school and for some reason that made him think I was in constant danger and that he literally could not survive without having some kind of my “essence” in him in the form of blood. I never told anybody about it except for one of my friends from the same group who knew him and who knew he did weird shit. So he was never arrested and I didn’t pursue a restraining order because I didn’t want anyone else to know. It was embarrassing and scary. It just felt so violating. I always compared it to being raped because it gave me the same horrible sick feeling of being violated and not having control. And I have been raped so I can say for sure that the violation was very real and that it was an accurate comparison. Anyway, I’m ok now. He eventually had a mental breakdown and was hospitalized. He said he had “psychotic depression” and the only way he could get better was to go no contact completely. He said he didn’t like being that way or feeling the way he did when this was happening. It’s been a long time since then so I’m sure he’s moved on and is doing better.
