Had some time to do something finally, so I sat down and did this (the pinnacle of originality, I know) for about an hour. I couldn't find a video where someone had already redone the mashup using the more recent, cleaner acapella for Reach for the Stars, so boom, this unoriginal video was born. All that's really "new" is a small bit I did for fun.

Unoriginal or not it’s the best mashup of Reach for the stars that I’ve heard. Well some sir!

This is the best rendition of this ive seen, nice job matching the vocals to the melody. Many people overlook that.

this actually kind of sounds like the perfect final boss theme for an Uber serious sonic game, Imagine sonic force's take on a more serious story (but actually done right). Picture this, eggman's evil was thrown out of the spotlight, a new Villain who doesn't care about anything has managed to actually kill sonic (not like they didn't in forces) a resistance force is formed to fight this new evil and this time Eggman is with them because even he's afraid what this whole debacle implies. Throughout the entire game you play through desolate deserted wastelands and in the mean time sonic's friends reminisce about the time they spent with sonic, but some subtle hints in the environment tell that sonic is alive, a ripped glove near the goal post etc. and as you go through the game, the levels get more desolate, and the resistance starts to break apart as each member tries to save the world their own way. Tails actually going AWOL, shadow taking 0 prisoners and rocks his Shadow the hedgehog weapons, Amy intentionally put herself into a coma etc, and the rest of the game is spent trying to get everyone back, but instead of their usually cheery selves that will go and do anything for their friends, they only want objective things. Like in order to get Rouge back, you have to prove that you're useful for her endeavors, etc. and as you get closer to the big bad's lair your own character (because custom characters where cool, but they could've done so much more with it) starts to have a mental breakdown, and loses most if not all of their hope, once you reach the main bad guy's lair your character is ready to just give up and let the bad guy kill him, then out of nowhere, sonic appears (this has multiple ways to end) if you collected all the chaos emeralds this amazing song plays, and as each new beat drop happens more and more of sonic's friends join in the battle and you beat the bad guy, credits roll. However if you don't collect all the chaos emeralds, then sonic saves your character and you both leave the lair of the big bad guy, but sonic himself is no longer happy go lucky, and you meet up back with the rest of the resistance only to see them all bickering and not getting along like they usually do, and as soon as they see sonic they just ask him "where were you" credits roll. (I know this is a very long synopsis of a story that sega will never make, but i'm bored, and this video made me want to make my own sonic story because this song sounds incredibly hopeful and triumphant ngl when I first heard these songs in sonic colors I was on cloud 9, and to see them combined together in perfect harmony instills a great sense of hope in me)

This is a really well-handled mashup, even if it only took you an hour or so I like it a lot, I was looking for a mashup like this that had just Reach for the Stars' vocals rather than the whole song, maybe there's another one out there already but I like this one a lot.

This is legendary! Especially with the inclusion of the ending of the fight, well done!

I don't know why but i liked the chorus (1:16 - 1:59) more that the original. Maybe because of the more relaxed percussion than the upbeat from the original. Great video btw 👍👍👍
