Re:Zero is the best kind of show to experience blind. Cos damn is it an amazing show. I consider it an amazing character breakdown of a protagonist ever. With all his redo’s you really see him go through so much and get to know him personally. See him at his best with his personal strengths AND his absolute lowest when his worst flaws are exposed for everyone to see. We're forced to witness him on this journey to grow and overcome himself. At its core this show is a brutal coming of age story for this boy Subaru Natsuki. Learning to love yourself and grow as a better person through painful suffering and hardship. Its not afraid to be real and force him to confront reality by showing him at his ugliest. And I respect a story that isn't afraid of having a flawed protagonist with so much to learn.. even if it makes them terribly unlikable at times when they're shown at their lowest. But yes, this is best viewing through the lens of a character study.

It's much more multi pov than that but kind of. Because many characters have the same struggles as Subaru so I don't agree with the idea it's "his" character study... It's not that small scale and character study doesn't make as much sense for epic fantasy. (Epic fantasy because the plot is really turning into trying to save everyone in this world from the legacy of its history).

This anime is really like the peak of isekai, the story is so good and the characters are all great, u can legit love everyone since they're all a complex character, not to mention the greatness of the OST, i recommend listening to Requiem of Silence, I'm pretty sure it's the most famous OST from this anime, but all the OSTs are also top tier. Also checks out the Endings, it's also great

Your thoughts gave the fourth opening new depth to me! Never thought of it as him being in the light there, so it's kind of him having overcome enough that he's able to pull them towards a hopeful future as well(although he's saved lives before that's not what I mean here it's more helping with their personal demons).
