Red Dead Redemption 2 Low Honor Episode 23: Valentine Don't Want Us No More
It's time to close out the Horseshoe Overlook chapter and move on from Valentine... all because Leviticus Cornwall thinks he's better than Dutch!
Livestock rustling, shootouts, scouting with Charles, and kidnapped strangers... Arthur better clean his guns, because they see a lot of action this episode!

One of my complaints about the game is how they change your guns for certain missions. I know what I want to use by god! On another subject you taught me how little I know about sheep, other than the onomatopoeia for the sound they make, and that they are sheared for wool. I had no idea there were different kinds! Now look how much smarter I am. You have to look really hard, but it’s there I swear. Smarter! But what do you expect from a channel called Equisetum Gaming? I had to look up the word Equisetum by the way, and had no idea how to pronounce it until I heard you say it. Lord! Oh well. Maybe slower, but I’m on my way. Hee hee

I get very frustrated when the game changes my guns and what type of ammunition I'm shooting. I've mentioned in other videos how I like to use high velocity in my primary and express in my off-hand, but that frequently gets replaced by regular rounds if I'm not paying attention. I'm glad I taught you something about sheep. I kinda wish my parents had kept theirs after I was born, but they would have needed to buy more land in order to make raising them profitable. (There's not enough grazing area on our little homestead to cut down on feed costs.) One of my exes raised cattle, and another one's family had a horse boarding stable and also kept a few racehorses. I miss being around livestock. As for the channel name... Pennsylvania is coal country and most of our coal deposits formed from plant material that came from the Carboniferous period. Equisetum are the descendants of the Equisetophyta family of plants that made up many Carboniferous forests... but now those descendants are tiny by comparison. I love to go fossil hunting around local coal deposits which were deemed too small to be mined, and I have a few ancient Equisetum fossils in my collection.

I’d completely missed the detail that Micah had selected Dewberry Creek. Wide open from all ends. I wonder what might’ve happened if they’d stayed there.

I think it would have been interesting to have Colm O'Driscoll set up a more permanent camp in the Dewberry Creek location so that we could have seen a comparison or a "what might have been" scenario. I would have loved it if sometime during the game we could have seen a flashflood come down that creek bed. Would have been awesome!

That is a great idea. Also, to try and not spoil it for those who don’t for certain yet, Micah was reporting to a certain agency who without a doubt intended the gang harm. What if he had been instructed to lead the camp to that spot? Ok, I completely failed at not spoiling it. Along with the flood threat the Pinkertons could’ve been planning on flanking the gang from all sides at some point at that camp site. Maybe. The last minute change to a better spot might’ve foiled some other plan we don’t know about.

I love that idea. I also fully believe Micah was ratting on the gang long before the Guarma incident.

@@EquisetumGaming I think so too. I believe maybe someone got to Micah shorty after Blackwater. Maybe in Strawberry. He started making deals for himself. And lord, I got so tired of Dutch too. I would avoid his missions until I couldn’t. I don’t believe a single plan of his ever succeeded. And his ultimate plan never changed no matter what happened. “One more score. Noise. Disappear. Don’t know where though.” Sure Dutch. Anyway, my low honor playthrough has been very profitable. Arthur has over $11,000 this time. He could leave if he wanted, but he won’t because the game doesn’t offer that option. Ah well. We’ll see what happens.

Sorry for the delayed response. I've been away for a few days' vacation. But yes, I think Micah had been making deals for himself even before we start the game. (I've wondered for a long time if the whole reason why Dutch keeps him on is because Micah may be blackmailing him in some way.) And Dutch shows some classic narcistic behaviors where he always has to be the center of attention and can't stand to have people question him. When people do question him, he'll belittle them into doubting themselves and their own observations.
