For me Rdr1 is a spaghetti western and rdr2 is a classcal western .I like the story of rdr1 more than rdr2 and I feel attached to John Martson more than Arthur but both are great protaganists.

Really? Arthur shows so much more depth and personality. He felt like a real person and not a protagonist from a video game. Arthur is up there as one of the best fictional characters I ever seen.

@@googlemyself4091 Obviously RDR2 looks better. I have 100% RDR1 and played several hours of RDR2, due for a full playthrough soon. But these games were 8 years apart, compared to how games from 2002 held up against RDR1 and games from 1994 before that, it holds up very well. That is diminishing returns.

Not really, is it just me or is some details hard to see apart from eachother in RDR1? So much on screen is just gray and camouflaged unintentionally. I have trouble making out the smaller details, but in rdr2 it's much easier. But maybe much of that is just the camera angles.

@@Persion4786Yeah I’m a RDR2 veteran at this point, played 350+ hours since the game dropped in 2018 across three saves. I just started Red Dead 1 today actually and have put a few hours in. What grabbed my attention immediately was how much more difficult RDR1’s gun combat is compared to 2. But I think unintentionally half of the time. I couldn’t see the target half the time, they blend in with the night or the background way more than in RDR2.

I laughed my ass off at John just lying there drunk in the comparison

I still own rdr1 and undead nightmare on my ps3 and they still look perfect, no need to even pay $50

I have it on ps3 and xbox. Would have liked it on ps5 for faster loading and better raytracing and shades but not at this ridiculous price. Should be 30 euros not 50.

@@RedsparInvestingthere is no ray tracing and no PS5 version unfortunately. No 60 fps either as it’s only running the PS4 version in back compat. Although the game in 4K looks really good.

Red Dead Redemption graphics still look so pretty and it has great lighting, environment and ambient music I get to finally play this game on PC via emulator and having so much fun playing it. Wish Rockstar would listen to the fans and also give us a PC port.

I'm confused by what this comment means. The second protagonist? John Marston's kind of the protagonist of the Franchise, everything Arthur does winds up being for John, as well as everything Jack does when he's an adult.

It's the same game from the Xbox360/PS3 era. In true current Rockstar's fashion, they just put something out there to keep investors happy while they keep finding new ways to increase Shark Card sales. At least they didn't let Grove Street Games massacre it like they did with the GTA trilogy.

Its not a big surprise that the graphics from RDR2 (2018) are better than RDR1 (2010). But its a shame that the physics of RDR1 are so superior compared to RDR2 (which feels like a slightly improved GTA5 ragdoll model). RDR1s ragdoll physics made me addicted to kill/push NPCs and watch them acting... Shootouts were so fun... You expected them to fall like in a movie and it was entertaining AF. Getting drunk was so funny to see john stumbling around and falling 100% euphoria ragdolled and physics-based... RDR2 has nothing to offer but downgrades, when it comes to these points...

I kinda prefer RDR 1 because it doesn't go overboard with realism. Having to watch Arthur slowly skin an animal was cool at first. But seeing it over and over feels lame. Not to mention that you *slowly* pick up the skin or carcass. The game wants to be realistic, but magic rope pops up that automatically ties the dead animal to the rear of the horse

Yeah I agree. I don’t think red dead 2 I needed to be so realistic. It would be like if when GTA 6 comes out if they made you stop for gas but on top of just parking at a pump if you actually had to get out swipe your ATM card and then sit there for a couple minutes as a tank refills. There’s a reason why, in movies as well as in video games, you don’t always do things realistic because it’s boring as hell and that’s not why you’re playing the video game four.

Honestly i prefer it that way as the whole point of it was to make you feel the slow-paced feeling of hunting and cooking to survive. There wasn't some macdonalds near you waiting to served you food and a large sprite to go and all the towns and big cities were miles away from you that you needed to hunt to survive and such. I hope in GTA 6 we can pump our gas and running past red lights that actually make the cops react to it.They could make those into a realistic difficulty where it feels so real that even your character actually has to use the bathroom after eating 8 hours ago or they may poop their pants and NPC will react to you pooping on yourself and not taking care of yourself similar to San Andreas.

@@mellochello921 bruh skinning the animal and hunting isn't even slow paced in rdr 2. An actual professional hunter analyzed the footage of hunting in rdr 2 and pointed out so many inaccuracies. Go try skinning a deer in less than 10 seconds

The new release of RDR on (ps4), looks really comparable to RDR 2 (ps4) in my opinion. A lot of the graphics are clearer but the game play (horse movement) seems to be a big laggy. Am I the only one who sees it that way?

They had full remasters planned for Red Dead and GTA 4. After all the backlash to the Trilogy they canceled both. My guess is they pushed this port out the door to recoup some of the costs of the canceled remaster project. Hoping we get GTA 4 at some point still, even a port, but probably not given the reaction to this one. At least it actually has a PC version and runs at 60 fps on XBox. Shame these games are becoming lost to time essentially in the process.

At least we can said that RDR1 remake is way better than GTA Trilogy 🤣 Ps: Hope they release PC version of RDR1 Remake & Fact: John Marston drunk animations is similiar to Niko (GTA 4)

Funny some things look better on rdr1 : dynamite in the water, in the sun. Still prefer 1 to 2 as not much freedom in 2, so scripted. Shame 2 could have been grand instead of good. 1 was grand in her days

the first rdr is better than the second one imo, from story, gameplay to the atmosphere. rdr 2 is very empty outside of towns, story didn't interest me as much, the missions weren't that good either except the train robbery. i always tend to go back to rdr and have a lot of fun playing especially bounty hunt missions
