RCMP Chapel and C Block: Like most buildings here, these too have been repurposed

Next up on the Depot Virtual Tour is the RCMP Chapel and C Block. Like most of the buildings at Depot, both have been repurposed over the years.
The RCMP Chapel is the oldest building at Depot and the oldest in Regina, Saskatchewan. Originally built as a mess hall, it was later converted to a reading room and canteen. Following a fire that damaged the building, it was restored but as a church. Today, the Chapel is non-denominational and is used for weddings, medal presentations, baptisms, and funerals for RCMP employees. It’s also used as a meeting place for larger groups and a quiet space for staff and cadets. The RCMP Chapel has been designated as a Classified Federal Heritage Property.
The original C Block was built in 1919 and first used as barracks. Throughout its lifespan, it was repurposed many times: it housed a science laboratory, a library, a canteen, a museum and even a guardroom. It was demolished in 1971 to allow for a new museum to be built for the RCMP Centennial.
The current C Block, which you see today is now home to leathercraft, stores, training space, offices and the tailor shop - where the iconic red serge comes together!
