5 Specialized Units within the RCMP
In this video, I scratch the surface of FIVE specialized Units that are used by General Duty Members for various reasons/cases.
There is SO much more I could say, and SO many other specialized Units, but we'd be here all day.
Hope you get something out of this video.
Cheers

Being “diverse” in law enforcement means your past skills, jobs, hobbies , education culture and experiences etc. The more well rounded and diverse you are , the more you will be able to build rapport with someone who’s having the worst day of their life. Being skilled at building rapport and trust is the most important aspect of de-escalation, and de-escalation prowess is your main advantage as a front line LEO.
Just seeing this now, watching from Winnipegosis, MB. Love the channel 👏

Watching from Truro Nova Scotia. Also in my current career I have worked along side GD, GIS, MCU and FIS. Very interesting to see how each unit operates. I would say I have worked with FIS the most and they are for sure a very knowledgeable and detail oriented group. Always learn something when we are on scenes together.

Watching from cells at a detachment in Nova Scotia. Very enlightening video. We have GD, GIS, FIS and an integrated SCU groups here. I’ve gotten to know many members here in my three years working as a guard. If I wasn’t a fit 67 I’d be applying.

I've been recommending to the nearly destitute people I deal with regularly that cultivating fitness is something that doesn't cost anything and it can improve their lives enormously. I've never paid a cent to do the exercises I do every morning and it's the thing that has done the most to improve my life, my comfort and my well being. Also to increase my strength to try to change things for the better.

This video is so helpful! You mentioned the deployment of a small percentage of students to a specialized unit if they have the experience. Do students choose get to choose a specialized unit or are they simply assigned based on previous experience and qualifications?
@RealCopsReelLife

Cadets don’t choose where they go after Depot… however, each file (including experiences) is evaluated for placement.
Hi, I'm watching from Calgary AB Thanks for the video it was very informative. Question: How long would a new recruit have to be on gneral duties before being eligible to apply for a specialized units (specifically drug or gang units)?
@RealCopsReelLife
10 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching 👊 There’s no “in stone” rule. Often, units look for two years as a general duty time frame. Many go sooner / later than this. Timing plays a key role with the units and their need for members.

@@RealCopsReelLife Thanks for the info, friend. I'm just weighing my options. I was told by an officer in the CPS it's typically 10 years on patrol before you're placed in a specialized unit. Looking forward to your next videos. Keep up the great content! Thanks.

I wonder if my 10 yrs experience as a mechanic and nine years as a software analyst can give me some expertise. I am not afraid of physical preparation; I like swimming many kilometres. I have a photographic memory. Is it considered illegal to do a labial analysis, from home build IA, of someone with a telescopic lens on my Canon reflex camera because I am a bird observer lover where people are talking, and writing it in a cluster of PostgreSQL database and encrypted with a modified version of Vera crypt and an algorithm written in a quantum programming language? I only have a bachelor's degree in computer science and one year of probabilities, so I never remember these crypto keys, but they are free to consult my encrypted documents.
