I've been thinking about this for a while and wanted to put my thoughts down and maybe get some input from other wgi addicts. I think this show references each previous show RCC has performed. -2002: far left painting (heartbeat), also fitting that the first reference is for the first RCC show -2003: jump and play stuff @ 4:20 -2004: painting 2nd from the left (little squares) is the same design as the backdrops in 2004 -2005: ghost notes at 6:00? 2005 had a cool ghost note/decrescendo in their ballad, so this could be a reference to that. There were also like 5 dance breaks in 2005, so maybe the dance break Landon starts is a reference -2006: ??? I can't find anything other than the floors being similar colors. Could be a hidden reference in the 2 paintings I don't have a show for (middle and far right) or some similar music from the pit, but I'm not sure -2007: little drum on the pedestal is referencing the end of the 2007 show when a kid walks out and plays some flams on a tiny drum -2008: black hat hanging in the white room -2009: sidestep drill at 6:03 is a well known part of the 2009 opener -2010: the repeated "running" visual at the beginning of the show is also used a lot in the beginning of 2010, it's a fairly common visual and fits -2018s theme so I could be reading too far into it. Right after the jump and play at 4:20 they have the same 5:3 rhythm in the battery that the 2010 show ends with, so maybe also that. I also feel like the pit has similar motifs in both shows but I don't know 2010 well enough to say for sure -2011: 2nd painting from the right (squiggly line) is the floor from 2011, plus various "flying" visuals -2012: folded flag on a pedestal in the white room, also cymbals at 4:50 when they lay on their backs (edit: tenors at 5:36 have a traditional grip prep, so that could also be a 2012 reference) -2013: snare visual at the beginning of the 6:15 Tenor feature is a repeated visual in 2013, mostly in the beginning -2014: bull horn on the pedestal in the white room -2015: little tree in back of white room. Also the lunge down at 6:09 could be referencing the final battery impact of 2015 -2016: I'm surprised I'm having a hard time here, since 2016 is one of my favorite wgi shows ever. I think the left hand prep/fake out at 5:36 references the fake out in 2016 right after the tenors have the traditional grip feature towards the beginning. I'm sure there's a better reference somewhere. (edit: I just noticed tenors do this prep in traditional as well, so this is definitely a 2016 and/or 2012 reference) -2017: "wings" visual at 2:25 from the dudes running behind the props. Could also be a 2011 reference. I think cymbals around 5:00 as well, but I'm not sure -2018: the show ends with the trumpet being added to the white room, saying that this show is now part of RCC's legacy and history Observations: I see 3 eras in RCC's indoor history. 2002-2009, 2011-2016, and 2017-present. 2010 is left out because it's really weirdly in the middle of two eras and I can't decide where to put it. This also follows the drum brands they've used. The first era was Dynasty, in 2010 they switched to Pearl, and in 2017 they switched to System Blue. This makes sense, because there's a good chance that changing drums could've been caused by changing staff as well. I watched 2003, 2004, 2006, and 2010 for the first time to find some of these references

I’m a Pulse fan myself but I even though I loved pulse 2018 I truly could not find anything that could be better about this show. It’s perfection from start to finish.

That picture refers to RCC's first WGI championship production, "The Sound of Silence"; nothing to do with bashing Pulse, or anything of the like.

Great show. I really REALLY enjoyed this year with them. Much RESPECT to RCC!!! Cheers!
One of my favorite closers now.
This is one of, if not my favorite show and that trumpet makes it

I've watched this many times and never noticed the stick drop at 4:52. It's next to the cymbal player's right foot.
Came here mostly to see Micheal Tran on Xylo but wow everyone is amazing.
I’ve listened to this at least a hundred times over the past month. Been trying to hear the tenor part so I can perform it. If someone can direct me to a website or video with the tenor sheet music, that would be great.
The trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raise imperishable. And the living, alive at that time, will be caught up to meet them in the clouds.
Also just noticed the props they put up in the white room are from different shows. The siren from 2014 and the flag from maybe 2012?
Here after the whole coronavirus WGI shutdown. Its sad to see so many good programs and shows end so early :(
Those are some shiny cymbals
I think that quad player who acciedentally spins his quads at the end did system blue a few years ago with me

Not A fan of RCC or this show at all. But you'd have to be dense to say that they were not the very definition of PHENOMENALLY clean this season. That quad break near the end, that's rhythmically verbatim to what the Front is playing, is one of the most awe-inspiring passages I've ever seen in this activity. Give credit where credit is due
