After the snare duet at the beginning it sounds like someone tried to recreate the scream from the ending of pulse 2017! lol Great show!

I know it’s pretty cool right? It was an incredible experience to give these students an opportunity to perform in a unique scenario that’s every bit as challenging as the percussion, AFTER being an integral part of the visual program for the entire show. Given the original source material which I’m sure you are familiar with, we thought it would be the most legit representation to use actual horns instead of bad synth sounds. I’m sure you can find that somewhere else though, if that’s your jam.

Gonna have to agree. It wasn’t a poorly designed show by any metric but I’m personally not a fan of wind symphonies in Drumline shows.

@@thenelsonbruhs722 That’s the best part of WGI, I could love something and you don’t have to. It’s still a valid musical offering, performed really well and those kids still matter and did awesome stuff.

@@thenelsonbruhs722 My comment may have read weird without context - I write all the front ensemble and winds for Chino Hills. I loved all that stuff and wouldn’t change a thing, and it’s totally ok if you’re not into it. I think it’s dope to bring advanced jazz harmony with winds to the gig. If you like traditional drums in a gym, all good. I’m just bored of all that after 15+ years so I’m always down for new sounds and exploring.
