RC Jet PERFECTION - Freewing J-10 Vigorous Dragon 90mm
The J-10 is absolutely the best canarded delta that Freewing has made in recent history. It's what Eurofighter and Gripen should have been out of the box. Everything about it is immaculate - from the fit and finish to the overall quality of the servos and lighting system - and it comes with full span elevons for insane pitch authority and plenty of roll, too.

This video is just what I needed to watch before heading out to the club field.
This is why the J10 is one of the best 3D jets out there.
Get yourself a partner as excited about aft CG placement as Mrs Two Bros is
Hey john. Holy moly this j-10 can flip! Love your youthful excitement. Its one agile bird..
So glad you liked it so much Jon told you how much I’ve enjoyed mine.
Looks like a fun jet to fly Jon. Hilarious when you used it as a blower...
I love the tail slide drifting. Like a hot rod in the sky..
Well done, Jon!! Those back flips are wild! Crazy it can do them just as well as the small 70mm F16!
Battlefield 2 players remember this jet well.
The bug flew great!

Wow, that was fun to watch and a really cool setup. I don't know about this one, a bit pricey, but I'd be onboard for the F-16XL for sure. Great video Jon, AirHammer out!!
Thanks for tip on the canards. I thought the air went over the top. Now it makes more sense. Thank you. Great video.
@TwoBrosRC

When Jandro explained it to us too, it was mind blowing. The air does indeed flow over the top, but it also flows under, and the canards help shape the air like a slot and make the vortices coming off the canards stick to the wings - which keeps the jet from stalling at higher angles of attack. But this only works if the canards are pointed at the right angle, which is why the jet performed so much better after the live canard change!
Whoa. Those canards look delicious!! 🤤🤤🤤 Look at that sexy high alpha with negative trim... aaaaah 🤤 Great video Jon! Glad to see my canard suggestions worked out! ;)

Congrats on the 100k sub milestone, Jon! I should pay better attention to those things, if it happened a while ago. Guess thats a testament to how enthralling your videos are. Amazing Freewing jet here. But, they seem to put those out pretty regularly. Those back flips were cool AF. Loved your reaction 😂 Great job keeping Jon's stick jamming in frame, Liz. Great vid Jon 👌 I love my J10A it does fly amazing. And landings are so easy and fun. 😊
Definitely use the outboard control surfaces for ailerons. It will retain roll control at higher AOA that way. If you only use inboard then the ability to roll will dissappear as it enters a stall.
Jon, your plane pooed a little bit at 8:40 - LOL - guess your leaf blower didn't QUITE get the job done ;)

Another fantastic review John 👍 Have you ever flown/ reviewed the 90mm FW F16? I am curious if it is decent when you get the ARF model and put modern electronics into it (the same that come with the J10 for instance). You are a big fan of the FMS 80mm F16, but it is heavy for the thrust.

Ok, I have a somewhat newer question here. I use your programming ideas all the time and enjoy your videos. Thanks for taking some mystery out of my iX20. Now, I have a friend with a NX10 and he’s doing the new update. Will that allow for canards as well as a wing type? Or do I need to use your iX14 type trickery to make canards work on the NX10(20)? He’s acquired a second hand J-10 and I want to help him program his NX10 with the spektrum 10ch AS3X/safe receiver. Currently the 8ch receiver he is using has run out of channels. Thanks for the awesome and consistent content!

All Spektrum radios with the latest firmware will allow for a canard tail type - but we'll cover why that's not an ideal way to set up your jet in a video coming soon. We plan to go deep into AS3X+ and explain how to set up canards and other auxiliary surfaces and dive into the aerodynamic theory of why our setups work so well. For immediate assistance, the best place to ask these questions is Discord via bit.ly/TBRCDiscord See you there!

It's a tossup between the F-22 and J-10. We'd make some money off the J-10 if you bought it using our affiliate link, but the F-22 is also a very capable jet even if we don't currently get paid for recommending it. Depends on what you want to do: High alpha: J-10 Abuse angle of attack: J-10 Speedy passes: F-22 Dramatic post-stall maneuvering: F-22 Hop on Discord and chat with us about it. Maybe you'll figure out what's best for you there: bit.ly/TBRCDiscord

that jet was absolutely awesome. I am a novice with remote control flying. You could say its my mid-life crisis 😂 😂. I reside in Australia, Sydney to be precise, I am a professional within the health care science industry. Could you possibly suggest to me a remote control plane for the beginner remote control flyer. something that is still large enough you know that its in the sky, with an electric engine. As I do not have the time nor the skills as yet to play with a fuelled engine as a beginner. Very much appreciated, Anthony

Batteries play a big part, but an efficient and powerful motor setup can make it significantly easier.

It’s both battery tech and motor/fan efficiency.
If all I had to fly were models of jets modeled after the Chinese air force especially one named Vigorous Dragon, I would stop flying RC completely. It comes as no surprise to me that a Chinese company makes a model of one of their air forces' fighters that flies really well. Or does it really fly that well? Give them away instead of selling them, to prove just how good they fly. You could not give me this model. I would return it. It is already bad enough that most of these planes are made in China. I see no reason to remind myself every time I fly an RC plane. It is a disappointing subject for a video leading up to the July 4th holiday.
