When I first got into RC, Cliff Lett held the record at 88 mph. It’s pretty amazing how much time and work its been to go from 100 to 200..

I still have my original Bandit that only did 30mph and lipo battery’s were not even used in rc yet😂Now I make boats over 100mph🤯

There is a guy called "slow rc mike" that has done 137 mph on 3S with an 1\8 scale car. Speeds are getting ludacris and I love it

Cause aerodynamics are more important than power. There could be done quite a lot more. Give the tires internal housings or find a more Streamline body

Cool to se how the ROSSA has evolved. I was at the first venue years back and the fastest car then was my friend with a 103mph and a Associated TC4, ended up in a explosion in the speed trap.

could the reason be turbulence created by driving so close to the tires on the side of the track?

That Max 4 and motor combo did pretty good on its own. Didn't expect it to go as fast as it did. 173MPH is awesome.

Love my hobbywing max 4 esc is nuts.... Thanks for doing this setup Kevin keep it coming it given me more options for potential setups...

Haven't been watching for long, in fact just recently gotten into RC cars from building mini Bikes, and your content has inspired me to think up lots of dumb cars Keep at it I hope you succeed in your goals!

I’ve got my first rc car to 62mph on 3s but I never DREAMED that the RC hobby was so EXPENSIVE and so many people do it. I have 3 different ones but my first slash I have made into something unique and crazy fast for a beginner....2 years. I’m currently fabricating some carbon fiber 3d printed parts.

Loved the coverage on your Monster Truck I thought you did a great job.and the speed run stuff is great also.

The monster truck build was an estimated £250,000 gbp and there's a lambo in the garage 😳 I'd say KZread really pays when you get millions of views/subs... I've been watching Kev for about 3 years, it has been epic to watch lol I don't think he can fit 1 more thing in that workshop now 😄 🤣 😂 😆 maybe the next life improvement is a kick ass massive workshop with a proper monster truck area and his own Rc bash shop adjoined, that would be sweet 😋 👍

Gotta be a bit frustrating to go for the record. You have to have have good weather conditions, road conditions, the cars cost big money and at those speeds cost a lot to fix buuuuuut if you can beat the record it's gotta feel oh so sweet. The downforce from that speed is causing the chassis to bottom out under high speeds. I would suggest adding stiffer suspension and maybe a tad more ground clearance, or slightly bigger wheels and tires. Bigger tires would also give you more speed as well.

I love the design of that motor can. Hobbywing have come a long way.

Awesome attempt! Having worked on prototype cars in the 80's may I suggest cutting out the louvres on the front wheel wells. That will keep the air coming around the wheel and lifting the nose.
