Weight Transfer Video - Fundamentals Part 1
Weight transfer is a critical but very misunderstood part of vehicle dynamics. In this video Ray covers the basic fundamentals - what causes weight transfer, why we are stuck with it, how to tune with it - even why the name weight transfer is incorrect :)
Look out for Part 2 which will cover dynamics of weight transfer including the effects of roll centres, springs and shocks.
Any questions ask away!

Great to hear :). Hope you enjoyed it!
Brilliant simple explanation thanks. Just a thought would the resultant torque of the motor through the rear axle and tyre that is in contact with the ground during acceleration create a moment that would contribute to load shift experienced? If so then for high bite surface the main way to maximize rear traction would be to have a forward weight bias. Maybe it's explained in Part2. Will go to that now. Cheers.
The suspention DOES transfer weight, but not necessarily the REASON it happens… obviously suspention doesnt compress until the load starts to shift… the suspention controls the transfer.
What about adding unsprung weight on arms to add stability
Thanks
Does all wheel drive change anything?
