“RBG”: New Documentary Celebrates Life of Groundbreaking Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg
democracynow.org - One of the most talked-about documentaries at this year’s Sundance Film Festival looks at the groundbreaking life of the nearly 85-year-old Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. 2018 marks her 25th year on the court, and she has no plans to retire. Ginsburg first gained fame in the 1970s when she co-founded the Women’s Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Union, where she argued six gender discrimination cases before the Supreme Court. In recent years, Ginsburg’s public profile has soared as the court has swerved to the right. Ginsburg often now finds herself on the dissenting side of opinions. We feature excerpts from the new film and speak with its directors, Julie Cohen and Betsy West.

RBG is a role model for all women with a brain and courage. May she stay on the Court for many many years to come. This is one American who has retained her ethics and morals with dignity and caring for our Society. She is a true rarity today! Thank you, Ruth Bader Ginsburg on behalf of all America.

UKindness4 you can’t be pro abortion and claim to be moral.

Nazz Boner That is patently untrue. I am extremely moral, am pro abortion, have have had an abortion, am actively involved my community in a positive way, I don't have to answer "morally" in any way. Many religious people can be considered moral, in the case of Christians, support a bible that supports slavery and cruelty to women and children. Are you a man, or even worse, a woman?

Every single woman in America owes her a debt of gratitude. Thank you RBG! (Thank you to Marty as well)

Where can I find the CNN documentary RBG ? Is it offered free anywhere? Or even available for purchase?
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is truly an incredible woman, a pacesetter breaking the ceiling.
I love, and respectfully admire, Supreme Justice Ginsburg. Such not-so-subtle power! Please stay healthy and work out! Much Respect and Love!

And WELL'WELL in just about 27:03 minutes of this morning powerful and "CLASSIC BROADCAST INTERVIEW" I'm just saying thank you so much for your powerful commentary and point of view about this documentary I'm just saying for me I have a lot of research that I have to go and do. And yes indeed I do know that it is going to take me about a year I'm just saying for me . Because I always, always read between the lines because it is always in black and white on white paper in black ink. (Is/was uploaded on January 22,2018)
She forever changed our lives as women in America
God Bless You, Justice Ginsburg. May you live forever.
I appreciate all of the work she did. That being said it is her fault we are where we are now. She is the reason Roe V. Wade got overturned.

The votes still would have been there to overturn roe if she had resigned and been replaced by another liberal. Likely the cutoff line would have been moved back from viability to 15 weeks. So a more "moderate" opinion.

@@kenlandon6130 thats not true. If we hired someone with her same values to replace her they would have voted to protect Roe. That would have been the 1 vote we were behind on and we would have won

@@buttermepancake3613 Yeah. But there were 6 votes to uphold the Mississippi 15-week ban law. Roberts, Alito, Kavanaugh, Barrett, Thomas, and Alito. Roberts' only quarrel was that he didn't want to overturn Roe entirely using that case but he was still willing to uphold the 15 week ban. So Roe would technically have survived but it would be gutted beyond recognition.

@@kenlandon6130 it would be better than not having it at all. There should be restrictions on abortion but it should be completely legal and avaliable and most importantly safe.

@@buttermepancake3613 yeah true. she should have resigned when obama had the votes in the senate to put through a liberal nominee

Exactly. She was not a good Justice at all. Instead of applying the law, she voted for outcomes. However, you'd never know that by the Senate Democrats during Judge Barrett's confirmation hearing. For them, Ginsburg was the best there will ever be.

Can she make a sandwich?
Shall we check for a pulse to make sure she's still alive and all this isn't after death nerve spasms which imitate being alive.
In the past I relied on this program to get what I felt was an unbiased broad coverage on politics. Of recent though the coverage has become so focused on women issues as to be almost a waste of time for this male to view.

Keith Jackson Why? Don't you know any women?
I thought she was supposed to move to New Zealand, if Trump got elected? How can you be a judge and a liar?
Time for her to go. I’m tired of gun grabbers being on the Supreme Court when the constitution clearly says “shall not be infringed”

Yes because if the most powerful military in human history decided to come into your town and take control, you and a pose of gunslingers will defeat them. Directed Energy Advanced Weaponry, Tanks, F22 Raptors and Stealth Craft, Nuclear Subs, Satellite mounted Kinetic projectiles, Drones ...no sweat, all short work for a few part time cowboys with AR15s a few 50cals and pistols......Thank god we have such a formidable force keeping the Federal Government scared from taking control of things, YEE HAW

C.A Franc if we don’t have idiots on the Supreme Court making dumb gun laws then there will be no reason for someone to try to take them. Further more; the military is not supposed to confiscate guns from citizens, liberals teach people to submit to authority so I understand your confusion. The constitution was written so the government would be afraid of the citizens, our founding fathers left a place that sucked and wrote the constitution for us, people have died to protect and preserve it. I’m tired of hearing about how things are in Europe, Europe sucks that’s why our founding fathers left
