RB25DET Timing Belt Install + Oil Return Drain Kit!
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
The fully forged RB25DET is getting super close to hitting that 500hp+ in this episode i show you how to install a timing belt and a common problem is people tend to tighten the belt too tight causing it to whine. i show you how to avoid that! So much has gone into this build that it is a good choice to be running a oil return drain kit. soon will be hearing that screamer pipe turbo flutter !!

Good video mate stoked to see this shredding soon
Holy shit bro it's almost ready 🙌🙌🙌 let's go we are ready to hit boost!!!!!
I can't wait to see the engine in the car 🤙
Thank you so much for this video. I recently ordered a whole new timing kit including water pump. However my engine is a RB25DE N/A but when it comes to some parts they seem to be identical to the RB25DET.
Good thing youre doing here. The Australians have done the cylinder head oil drain for years now but then nobody has more powerful and reliable RBs than the Aussies. They really know the RB well.

haha true that!!
I've noticed ppl time thier rbs differently. Some say/do it by leaving the tensioner loose and turn engine over 2 times and have it self tighten then they tighten the tensioner all the way and others do it the way you did. Now I'm not saying you did it wrong but i've seen vids on ppl who've done it your way and others in the comments say it's flat out not the right way to do it but heyyy if it works it works then send it. Good luck with the build man.

ClutchkickPJ belt needs to turn without that tight feel to it, when he said about cam gears bending forward my mate bent he’s camshafts from the belt being way tight. Tensioner shouldn’t be done all the way, see how he goes when the car is running

i was going to comment the same thing plus theirs no need to put the crank pulley on to time the motor theirs a dot on the lower gear that lines up with a mark on the oil pump.
@clutchkickpj693

@@svision5377 yes i'm aware of the mark on lower gear. I see everyone has thier own method of timing but I guess if you've done it right then that's the ultimate goal
Awesome vid! Yes yes yes to more vlogs

Great video as always your the man. Need to do my own cam belt next week. Do I make a video or not?
Hell yea on the same steps in my rebuild
Hey bro awesome video I enjoyed every single bit of it keep it up man, would u be able to tell me where u get all the torque specs for every bolt and all the other shit please thanks man ❤️
I have a question for you since you seem to be more familiar with the rb25 than me. So I recently replaced my turbo because I had total loss of boost (I check for leaks before resorting to a turbo replacement). compressor wheel was totally done. Replaced the turbo and still have the same problem. A friend who helped me install the turbo suggested that my timing might be off. I read forums and came to a possible conclusion that it may be the CAS or maybe just a new tune. Just wondering if you've ever heard or came across this problem yourself and maybe if you knew how this could be fixed. I own a 1996 R33 gtst. Thanks for all the content you put out. It inspires me to learn more about this engine everyday.
Now my day is made 😌

Hey bro where did you get all the torc ratings ?
Any tips on tapping the sump for the oil return?
Amazing dude ! Just one question, how can I make my screamer pipe sound « louder » on my 1jz pt6466 turbo ? I’m running 25 psi, but my screamer is not very loud. Thanks

send me photo on my ig inbox and I’ll see what set up you running
Don’t you need to lock the cam shaft on the rb25?
nice looking engine rebuild,how is it running? :)
Is it just me or did you not use the lines in the timing belt set to the timing marks on the cam gears and bottom crank mark?
@ClutchKickJunkies
4 жыл бұрын
as long as you got everything in time it doesnt matter for belt to be placed with its markings but do have it facing where the arrow is pointing
Getting closer hell yea edit: vlogs will be enjoyable

The time it took to you time this engine, And explain everything. I did it in the time you had it the time lapse running. I feel like you could be more efficient with your explanations. And a little more enthusiasm. Cranking boss
Your actually ment to keep the tensioner lock but loose, crank the motor over 2 rotations then tighten the lock but in the tensioner. I’ve learnt all the hard ways trust me lol
Where did you get your harmonic balancer? Can't find much online and don't want to go to the stealership.

Good vids man but you've gotta sort those audio levels it's so painful having to turn the tv right down every time music starts.

thanks heaps mate its weird cause it never wan issue til couple vids now. i played in noise bands so volumes were always harsh im no music producer. i actually dropped music volume by 45% haha. but i am using surround sound so maybe different to tv sound. i'll work it out, plus go pro mic is shit tbh so gonna have to get a mic adaptor for it to pic up audio better
gotta be honest, itll be nice from time to time to just vlog with ur dog, enjoy life u know free ur mind from the cars a bit xD
Nice.....A Rb25 of that value needs a gated sump pan from Lewis Engines...Check em out bro.

29nm is 21ft lb of torque... That bolt will be at risk of fatigue failure from over tension, let's just hope you didn't set the wrench to 40ft lb.
