In 1980, a group of ice hockey players in Minnesota were looking for a way to practice during the summer.[1] Scott and Brennan Olson formed the company Rollerblade, Inc., to sell skates with four polyurethane wheels arranged in a straight line on the bottom of a padded boot.[1] In 1988, Rollerblade introduced the first aggressive inline skate, the Rollerblade Lightning TRS. Aggressive inline skating developed as an organized sport in the early 1990s.[2] In 1994 the National Inline Skate Series, better known as NISS was launched as the first aggressive skating competition series. Promoters Rick Stark and Mark Billik sold Taco Bell on sponsoring the series for $150,000 and a six stop series was born. NISS, went strong for 5 years holding contests in Los Angeles, New York, Rome and Brazil. NISS was the first series to put aggressive inline on television with an ESPN deal for the 1994 series and later moving the competition series to PRIME TICKET-Fox Sports. The Aggressive Skaters Association (ASA) was formed by a number of aggressive inline skaters in 1995 as a forum to develop rules governing competitions and equipment.[2] The sport was included in the first ESPN X-Games in 1995 and included vertical ramp and street event competitions.[3] It reached its height in popularity in the late 90s, with mainstream movies like Disney's Brink! and other films. The brand "Senate", run by Arlo Eisenberg and several other prominent skaters, enjoyed mainstream popularity during the 1990s.
Founded by company owners/skating legends Brian Shima, Jon Julio, and Kato Mateu and supported by all major skate companies, the World Rolling Series (WRS) links together the best skaters, event organizers, retailers and skate parks and aims to "create a tighter knit community, increase overall awareness and set a higher standard for aggressive rollerblading." The WRS circuit started in 2009 with 10 established professional contests in France, Netherlands, England, Spain, Argentina, Australia and the United States. In 2012, WRS included 100+ amateurs and professional events in over 20 countries.

Very nice to hear this! I love the Cults but I never understood why they not make a wider negative space. The same on the Shifts. Just a couple of mm more and everything had been fine. So, I wrote them before 2 years a letter to adjust the soulplate a little bit. After they told me that they can not do this because they need to change the whole production process and that would cause too much extra costs. But it seems, that they received in the meantime a couple of more letters concerning this theme...😉 Thank you very much for the information!💪💪💪

The soul plate on the Shima 2’s and Elliot models has 10 screws affixing it to the boot, 12 if you count the nonUFS frame mount. They got “twisty” and bendy when Razors removed like 6 screws, plus they made the material much slower. I have both versions

Hey good sir. I was an aggressive inline guy in the 90s it's what I did in the warm months. Tho 2005 I stopped until now. I just bought the new remastered razors shima 3 skates. I'm being totally honest when saying I'm out of the loop and basically starting from scratch. I'm 45 now and I was a pro athlete for 20 some years so I felt confident getting a trickier skate. It has a smaller grind surface and negative side. But I did buy the Gawds Paul John 57mm wheels to throw on Also a complete flat ride like the original skate it comes factory as but the wheels are gnarlier looking with old English letters on a pink wheel . I need help tho and I watched some vids of urs. What kind of plates can I put on the new Shima 3.? And the different wheels I bought the 57mm will those fit on the shima 3 factory frame? I am looking to get different plates and extra stuff to customize the shima 3. If u cud help in any way as far as info I'd be super grateful!! How can I customize the shima 3? I'm looking for high end gear I am a tall and heavier guy then I was at age 26 when I stopped. so durability is important. I need strength and the wow factor. But with my skills starting over and learning new terminology and so on I cud use some valuable help.😊 I went with 57,mm wheels for more stability their a flat wheel. I always ride 8 wheels at least for now. and I'm used to a flat ride . How can I change it up with different parts? Ps hopefully no drilling needed!! Thankyou thankyou if u can answer my questions. Pss I did subscribe! Be well sir 🎉 Psss also wondering about the flt4 frame and possible different frames to swap..thanks!!

Holy hell you just brought me back. I haven’t seen the name Nimh in FOREVER! But yea, these look pretty sick. I’m excited to see them out in the wild, maybe I’ll consider as my next purchase. Got an old pair of Cults that would look REAL pretty with these

Felt footprint glued in? Jeez, try even harder to not get your skates wet! You won't be able to dry them well and that felt might get moldy and stinky!
