    June 2021 update: after taking more than a year off because of the pandemic, I am again commuting to work on a regular basis. I am not concerned with speed as much; instead I just try to enjoy the ride. I appreciate this scooter as much as ever! I have to tell you, I am having a blast with my scooter. I can sustain 8-10 mph in bike lanes, where I don't need to watch for cars exiting driveways. Scooting 2 miles to work is a piece of cake, and rather fun exercise. My original bearings were getting noisy, so I replaced with Bones Reds bearings. The new bearings are definitely faster. It takes some time to build up strength to go fast, so be patient. If you are thinking about getting a scooter, DO IT!

    @@katducoff1329 Sorry I missed your comment. A bearing is what supports the wheel on the axle and allows it to turn with a minimum of friction. You can find videos of people replacing Razor A5 bearings if you do a quick search

    Thank you for the tips. I just got mine yesterday. I unboxed it today the Razor A5 Lux. I'm a 64 year old female and practiced a little in my apartment before taking it outside. I went from scared to thrilled. I'm excited about it. I like that I can use it at my own pace. Thanks again.

    Yeah, been enjoying riding the scooter. Just be careful of cars and don't be in a hurry. If you ride in rain, make sure you can stop at a reasonable distance.

    You can increase by 25% for all modes depending on how fast you like to push things. I like the scooter is faster because the damage is less if take a fall.

    Your two A5 scooter videos are super informative. I was debating whether I wanted to buy one for the distance to my daily bus commute. It's 0.5mi to the bus stop and then 0.7mi after getting off. After watching your videos, it seemed the extra safety gear I should wear and carrying the scooter on my hour long bus ride would not be worth the mere few minutes saved. Thanks, I'll stick to walking. Liked and subbed!

    Any problems going over speed humps because of the low deck?

  • @theWZZA

    @theWZZA

    Жыл бұрын

    It depends. The larger ones meant for slowing down cars on residential streets are no issue. The small steep ones you tend to find in parking lots do drag on the deck. Since I usually go faster on the streets and slower within a parking lot, it's not a big issue to step off and walk over a steep speed hump.

    Interesting numbers, on a straight surface with my scooter I average 10.2mph and 7.5 on slight incline and I surpass bikes sometimes, it's more efficient depending on the scooter driver

  • @theWZZA

    @theWZZA

    Yes, it depends on how much effort you give, how far you are going, and the road surface roughness. Generally, bikes are faster, unless someone is totally taking it easy.

  • @theWZZA

    @theWZZA

    Hi, any bike helmet will do! We are going a little slower than them, so a bike helmet is sufficient. Just wear it any time you ride, and adjust it to be comfortable. Head injury is no joke, and takes a long time to recover from.
