Watching KZread and then watching your videos, I feel like I am missing something. There isn't the grandiose sense of self worth, you don't talk down to your viewers, and most importantly I don't feel like I'm stuck in the middle of a rat race for views/subs/likes. I don't know if you will read this but i just want to say thanks for all the content Dave!

I picked up a Razer Blade (1060) less than a week ago and I love it. I picked it up for editing and content creation (switching from mac) and I don't think I will ever look back. That you so much for your reviews Dave. I can honestly say that after months of research I ended up choosing the blade because of your review of the 970m model. Thank you for all your hard work!

@@TutorialTvOnline I'm actually on my third razer blade... My first blade 14 randomly just died after just shy of 2 years, but I had insurance through the Microsoft store so I was upgraded to a blade 15 for free, The second one was fine but for some reason the webcam never worked. Because of the new need for zoom meetings I decided to get it fixed, but Microsoft closed all their retail stores during covid, so when I sent it in I was just given my money back... So then I bought a third... I was close to getting something else this time, but there really isn't anything else that meets all my requirements like the blade does. It's been a weird experience. I don't know if I can recommend a razer blade but I do like mine a lot. I just can't call them reliable.

I now own the new Razerblade 1060 QHD 512GB Model and to be honest the previous review from Dave2D is what sold me so if you want a full disclosure than I suggest going back to that review. This is say just a touch up from the original review. So just so you all know the blade doesn't disappoint you get what you pay for. This goes to show I'm getting amazing performance out of this thing. Shadow warrior 2 I QHD Native resolution 3200X1800 I'm getting 42 to 48 FPS high settings. In 1080 1920X1800 I'm averaging from 54 to 78 FPS on ultra settings. To top it off cooling is no issue I'm using the new 2016 Bijuan gaming cooler temps are now from 72 to 78 degrees full throttle meaning 3.5ghz. So trust me save up that extra money and purchase the blade also will be ordering the CORE here soon as this laptop is future proof. Much Love S/O to Dave Lee 1 time for his epic product reviews

feykroTV - Yep, for me the only cons of the Alienware is the design, with it you transformed into Kikoo dark Kevin 12 years old. But for now its the only laptop with OLED screen and a gtx1060 inside. I wait CES 2017 for same specs in another design

I'm just frustrated that Razer hasn't changed the design of the Razer Blade since it was first introduced. At it's price point, I fully expect a GTX 1070 and a 1080p screen with a higher refresh rate than 60hz. If it means engineering a new cooling design, then Razer should do it. If it means making the Razer Blade a little thicker, I'm all for it.

Got me one a couple weeks ago and I LOVE it. I'm not a gamer but do intensive graphic and web design creation work. I'm venturing into video editing soon and based off my experience so far I know this laptop won't let me down whatsoever. It's a great looker and very portable. Also got a DBrand matte cover and bottom and its the envy of every MacBook inundated coffee shop I stop at here in West LA. This Razer Blade replaced my 17.3" Dell XPS that I bought back in 2010 and while it was/is a great computer by today's standards and lifestyle it is an impractical "old Cadillac" that still can get jobs done but just runs too hot and heavy to be reliable and portable. This is a GREAT upgrade and wanna thank Dave2D for his reviews which were instrumental in me purchasing this laptop.

Haven't done any video editing yet. On my average use I'm running Photoshop, an SEO program (Traffic Travis or Web CEO), 10-12 browser tabs open, Pandora music app, MS Word, MS Note, Outlook. With all that it's still quiet and cool AF. I remember the first week I got it it did run hot for about 30 minutes if that but i dont recall it making much noise either. Also, I dont recall what I was doing or what program was running when it got hot but if I remembr I will let you know.

Same. And with the smaller footprint of the XPS 13, it's a better buy in terms of ultra portability. The trade-off is obviously the gpu and rgb backlighting. But then again, having a Core at home solves it, with updated drivers for the XPS.

Depends on if you're gonna mostly use it at home or on the go. Razer blade is more portable and you'll probably get less weird looks from people because of its styling compared to the Alienware and it's more of a business-y looking laptop and has a more accurate QHD screen. If at home, probably the Alienware for the upgradable ram and 1070.

Talking about the 13" Alienware, locked to a 1060 but just as portable as the blade I would think being smaller (just a little thicker). You are 100% right on the styling though.

I chose alienware. with big chasis and good cooling, you can run games without to much heat, and with mxm slot. you can upgrade your gpu later. and its cheaper to. if you ask about design, and razer win alot, but if we pay over $1500, we must thinking about durability for long run.

The 1060 Alienware is faster than the 1060 RB, because Razer underpowered the GPU inside their laptop by ~15%.

Maciek Jutrzenka Sure, it's faster. But that faster GPU is the only difference. And here in the Netherlands, upgrading will probably cost me more than just buying a Razer Core. Besides, the games I play run just fine on the 970m, so I don't really need to upgrade right now. It's a great laptop, and the price is getting better and better (unlike Apple's prices), but for me personally, I don't feel like dropping hundred of euros just for the better GPU when my current Razer is serving me just fine.

***** Yeah, that's always the case though. Razer still refuses to sell the Blade here in Europe, so I had to go the eBay route. I came across a new 2016 model Razer Blade for 1650 euros and decided to just go for it. Sure, I would have like to have the 1060 model, but the 970m is just fine for me. Ofcourse, I wouldn't recommend getting that one now ;)

I was originally waiting for your review on this laptop. Razer seems to like sending you products for review. So I could not wait and went ahead and got it before you're review. Just a side note, I know this has been pointed out to you already, but I want to really let you know that I don't think you should do videos like this. Yes this model is very similar to the previous one with the exception of the newer 1060 gpu. But, please do full reviews in the future. You're videos are some of the cleanest and most detailed reviews on laptops. Not to mention some of the most level headed points of view at that. But, not everyone has watched to original videos and I'm sure people would not want to watch an old video because they want to know about the whole experience on the new model. Keep up the good work Dave.

THANK you for posting some dB's to go by. Seems like this thing will be loud, and require a headset when gaming; which I use anyway, so not too bad. Good to know it is running cooler than the 970m. Have you tried driving an external monitor with the lid closed? The way the exhaust/hinge is designed, I'm worried there's no clear path for heat with the lid closed...

Hey Dave ! Thanks for the video ! Great review as always. I wanted to know what's your point on the screen resolution of this product !? I Want to buy a new laptop after new year and i'm struggling in my choice between buying a combo Cintiq + this computer with the QHD+ screen (worth it in my case ??), the new Alienware 13 and The New Wacom Mobile Studio pro. Right now i'm using a Cintiq companion 2 as my working laptop. As a 2D/3D graphic designer i'm looking for the best screen and color accuracy out there ! And if i can play a bit with the computer it's a plus (mainly Fighting game) ! I've been watching review for all of those product and since i need a powerfull computer for 3D, I don't know if the new product from wacom can do the job ? What's your thought on it !? thanks :)
