Fishy I’ve had this in my cart for the last 3 days how are you linking it? I’ve heard several horror stories like one review on BB’s website where one individual had returned the device for a replacement on 3 different occasion and had the same issue with all 3! I’ve also heard nothing but bad things about that models screen bleed which seems to be mostly on the mercury white version which is the one we are talking about. Any information would be appreciated thanks!

Nick Ruby I am absolutely in love, already threw in a 5 game session, it runs every game I play at 120+ frames. The horror stories are lies or user error imho, my buddy has the same laptop and he loves it too (bought it on release). The only thing I can say is to update update update, if drivers arent updated the machine blue screens. That’s typical for a dedicated graphics card though. Its 700 off rn, buy it. If you don’t like it (in bestbuys case) you have a two week return policy with no fee. I have a $4,000 desktop and the laptop does NOT disappoint. I love the mercury white and I love the performance. 10/10 would buy for 1899.99 again. I got geek squad protection in case (3 years) because I work for geek squad and get discounts. Its worth it my friend.

And CPU throttling over 98 Fahrenheit? And Stress at 112? Idling at 76? Those are outside temperatures of a hot summer. But these numbers in Celsius wouldn't make sense either. Hey man, Is the Razer blade 15 i7 9thgen+ 1060ti for only $1350 on sale worth the price? I’m mostly worried with thermals but it seems you have an i9 cpu which should greatly affect the thermals? I’m not sure tho. I’m greatly disappointed with g14’s screen it was so bad really like really really baddd and thermals would reach 95-99c consistently, the bottom of the screen also warms as you use it in long hours beacause the hot air blows through it. I had it for a week. After g14 I got the MSI gs66 2020 i7+2070mq+240hz and it just runs too hot as well and the speaker has no bass and it’s just too expensive for the thermals and speaker it offers. And oh, I also got alienware m17 r3 and it was immaculate, great thermals under heavy loads 55-67c, great screen better than msi gs66 tho msi had a good screen and colors but not as bright as alienware’s, also has best speaker on the lot which beats the g14 speakers imho, the only problem i had was a clicking sound on the hinge and its footprint is bigger than I expected so I returned it. When I get the refund I’m planning to get the aw m15 r3 with i7 10th+2060+1080p 300hz but that would cost me around $1600 with discounts and if I count the rebate which will give me $100 credit to spend on a new AW keyboard or mouse then I would view it around $1500. So it all boils down to the $1500(after discount and rebates) AW m15 r3 i7 10th+2060+300hz+vapor cooling+perkey srgb+great screen colors and speakers but will wait 3weeks-1month+ to get refund and reorder vs the RAZER blade 15 i7 9th gen+1660ti which is cheap for a razer and 9th gen has little to no noticeable improvement with performance vs 10thgen or maybe there is and I’m just not aware of it, the form factor and size is really what I like about it and it’s only for $1350. Both has great build quality tho razer has a uni body build which is a plus point. Can you help me on this one? Can give me your points and opinion? Please? Thanks! PS alienware has soldered rams, not that I really need it rn but maybe in the future so that’s a set back against the razer blade. Hope you’ll notice this comment and help me with my dilemma. I really like the 17 inch Blade Pro but I wish they gave it a properly sized 100 watt hour battery. I will just wait for the next lineup of Razer Laptops and hopefully then they will have better parts.

Hello! I'm looking into this laptop for mostly the sims 4 and sims 5 when it releases. I will be using a lot of mods CC and I will be downloading all of the expansion packs. I've been looking at all the different configurations and all I've been told is to get a laptop with a lot of storage and a really good processor. Should I go with the configuration with the OLED 4k or will the 144Hz 9th or 10th gen be okay?

144hz+ 9th gen for the money. 10th gen if you dont care about money. If the sim all you play then 500gb is plenty, but 1tb is recommended ( you can always buy an external HD later)

I got a really good deal on the base model. I live in the uk and got it new for about £1200. Paid an extra 300 and upgraded to 32gb of ram and 2tb m.2 nvme storage. So about 1500 for a 1660ti and 9th gen i7. Feels really great. Just general use like video consumption and web browsing got me like 8.5 hours without changing the settings, stayed quiet and cool. I could notice the ssd upgrade over stock more than the ram, but it's nice to not worry about running out of either. I also use this for VR. Not very demanding vr because I use Oculus link for the quest, but it works really well. Don't game on it much but when I do I notice it. If I'm playing like csgo 144hz it gets sightly warmer but honestly not by much because I use an fps cap to limit performance and noise. I played AC origins on it once and definitely noticed it. Got like 90 fps on medium but it got hot, not uncomfortable got but noticeably hot. The fans could also be heard. But tbh I never play anything except vr on it unless I'm like at a friend's house or have it hooked up to an external display and peripherals, when I do do that I elevate the laptop for better airflow and wear a headset, I also have a quick USB hub so I can switch my peripherals over from my desktop to my laptop really easily, plus I wear a headset so I don't have to hear the noise or touch the warm metal chassis. Overall I think I got a pretty good deal for about 1500. (Like 1900 dollars). The 6gb 1660ti is great for VR and other titles, and the CPU despite running hot under heavy load is pretty fast for what I paid. Don't worry about getting the base model, just make sure you upgrade the storage as mine only came with a 256gb ssd and no hdd. It is super easy to upgrade though as it has a very accessible 2.5" drive bay as well as support up to 32gb of ram (even though I doubt you'll need to upgrade.) Only bad thing is gaming without it being connected to power (but why would you do that anyway)

I would suggest to get RTX 2060 with 144HZ refresh rate as HDD slot is important and 144Hz refresh rate is more than enough with decent in game graphics settings !

Yes, however that model comes with a 65 Wh vs 80 Wh battery in the advanced. If the base had an 80 absolutely. The battery life on the base is full potato

I bought mine on sale at my local tech store for 1550 usd and for that price I absolutely agree. Especially with a 1080p 144hz panel a rtx 2060 w/9th gen i7 is all you need since it absolutely proves the capabilities.

I got the exact same one, Swapped out my RAM for 32 gigs of RAM, replaced the 512 NVME with a 2TB NVME and filled the 2.5 inch bay with another 2TB SSD! Now it's an overpowered beast!

I endup picking out alienware m15. For better support, better warranty, better internals, better keyboard, better look imo. Only problem is the thermal might get hot, but you can undervolt to get the temp lower. Think msi and razor have factory undervolt but other than that, for the price I think alienware m15 and msi gs66 much better imo

So do you think the i7 9750h rtx 2060 configuration is an upgrade over my r5 1600 gtx 1660 desktop I need a laptop anyways It would work way better than a desktop for my needs

I'm in the same boat and bought the 9th gen i7 w/rtx 2060 and I will say yes only because you said your needs are best suited for a laptop. If not I wouldn't waste the money because you can get the same performance for cheaper than what you'd be spending on the laptop.

This model is supposed to be for music producers, on their website they have a chat and I was talking with an employee of Razer and they told me that thr blade 15 is very suitable for music producers, as they have a Razer music thing, they also sponsor Murda beatz, so i think it's very good for recording

Do you have to be charging the laptop while playing to get high performance or does it perform well while it is not charging? My current gaming laptop only performs well in games to get above 60 fps when charging at ultra settings, and when it isn't charging it hardly reaches 20 fps.

Because of the the power draw from the GPU and CPU without the connected charger your gonna face super throttling so it doesn't die in 20 min. But when it's plugged in you can use almost all of the GPU and CPU unless you suffer thermal throttling

Yeah, it's actually a well-documented phenomenon where Windows will throttle the CPU (as well as the GPU, most of the time) so that Windows-based laptops won't run out of battery faster than expected. There *are* workarounds for this, but it's nothing easily accessible by the average computer user since it involves tweaking system files and such. As of right now, at least, Microsoft really wants to prioritize battery life over gaming performance for all Windows-based PCs in question. The philosophy is that IF you're gaming on a high-performance laptop, you should be plugging in your laptop anyway in order to keep power draw at peak. (The comment above me is pretty spot-on with explaining this too.)

I would be playing my fair share of games on it, but would this work well for adobe creative cloud/graphic design stuff as well?

Thank you for your recommendation. I’m very much considering this laptop & the exact config you recommended. My only concern is the comments on Razer reliability & quality control. I’ve seen a concerning amount of comments on laptops dying. How do you feel about that? & not sure how long you’ve have yours, but any issues? I’m heeding the warning of others & purchasing through Microsoft Store with a warranty.. My goal for this laptop is edit videos & stream console games with Elgato.. wanted a powerful portable option. & when I want to cpu game I have a great machine to make it happen. I just graduated university & become working my big boy job so have planned to build a desktop past year or two.. only my laptop died few months back & having only cpu being my work laptop isn’t going to cut it.. so I don’t mind putting off my desktop build another year or two if the laptop I purchase can function as a workstation. Razer Blade owner with the 9750H and RTX 2060 Base model here. I bit the bullet for this laptop knowing I could get a lemon but the laptop for me has been perfect. no defects whatsoever with my unit, however, the biggest issues with these models are the batteries that they use as they tend to die and bloat after a year of use which can permanently warp the beautiful chassis this machine has... The worst part is that Razer does not sell batteries stand alone so you have to ship the laptop to them to get it replaced so keep that in mind! My suggestion is to get the laptop from Microsoft and extend the warranty because if you have an issue you can swap it out easily without dealing with Razer customer support.

I purchased the 1660ti model and it overheated within 3 days, even with the undervolt and official razer laptop stand, if you're thinking about buying one I'd recommend looking at a good pair of headphones because it sounds like its about to take off when under load.

Have you done any testing to come to the conclusion that the 9th generation is significantly different when compared to the 8th? All you said was “it’s a newer generation” which is obviously true, but you are assuming that all generations are the same. The move to 8th from 7th was substantial, the difference between 9th and 8th is negligible. (From all the testing I’ve seen on the matter)

Hello. I just bought my razer blade 15 with the rtx 2060 version. Everything running great but I tried to change lighting effects on my keyboard and it all lights up and not individually. I tried the latest synapse none seems to work. Like even the ripple effect doesn’t even ripple, it all just lights up and off and off again.

Unfortunately, most of the Razer Blade 15 configurations that have the GTX 1660 Ti *or* the RTX 2060 as the configured GPU do *not* include RGB keyboards that support "per-key" lighting. The configuration you currently have only supports "single-zone" lighting. (Assuming it's one of the newer models.) Literally any other configuration with an RTX 2070 Max-Q (or better) have per-key RGB lighting. Honestly, I don't know why Razer does this. It's kinda ridiculous. But if you want that nice keyboard you're looking for (the "per-key" RGB keyboard, as shown in my review), you gotta go with a Razer Blade 15 that has either (1) an RTX 2070 Max-Q, (2) an RTX 2080 Max-Q, or (3) a Quadro RTX 5000. Doesn't matter what display / processor / storage / finish you choose as long as you get this laptop with one of those GPU configurations. I hope this helps! Sorry to hear that you didn't get the keyboard you were expecting. :(

@@oukn6293 yea I got the 9th gen with the 9750h model. It's not the advance model. So it consider the base model, so per key rgb keyboard. Since I post this, I return it and got the 2080 max-q version with the 4k oled model. It looks great now.

I'm using USB-C type Dell monitor for Razer blade 15 base (1660ti). In that case, There is no fan issue. But When I'm using Thunder bolt 3 dock, The fan speed has increased like the video. Even if I didn't connect external monitor through thunderbolt 3 dock, Fan speed has been increased significantly. It is weird.

Is there a way of turning off the RGB keyboard backlight?

yes you can turn it off on the keyboard. but youll probably want to go into razer chroma to change how the lights react when they are on. real easy just remember that chroma works in layers so dont have to many and it will be simple.

If I'm only looking to do moderate non competitive gaming, would the 144 be just fine?

@ yeah it fucking sucks. my dad works at apple so i got my 2020 mac much cheaper but i still feel robbed that i paid this much for a laptop with no gpu only 16 GB of ram and 250 fucking gb of ssd.

In the summer of last year, I bought the rrazee blade 15 base model wich had the gtx1060 max q (because 1660Ti wasnt an option at the time). It is perfect it can run AAA (which have rtx option) at ultra settings for about 50 to 80fps.but I am worried for the upcoming games, so it still good in your opinion

Since you mentioned both the the 8th and 9th gen models... 8750H 2080 Max-Q model comes with a 90w TDP GPU (Base clock: 990 MHz, Boost: 1215 MHz) 9750H 2080 Max-Q model comes with a 80w TDP GPU (Base clock: 735 MHz, Boost: 1095 MHz) and no I have not got them mixed up. The 90w TDP model in some games produces upto 10% better performace. Though 9750H model probably does a little better on temps and battery life. But if the 8th gen with the 90w 2080 Max-Q was going for cheaper on a discount I would go for that. Just an FYI.

I got the Mercury White i7 9750 gtx2070 240hz display for $1819+tax at Best Buy a week ago. Weirdly that price was only available in store, not online.

Great review. Just a couple comments. The RB 15 is probably of the only gaming laptop that doesn’t look like an alien. Upgradability is something I wish more laptops )MacBook Pro) at this price point had. 256GB base storage is unacceptable for a device marketed for gaming, 2 games and you’d be out of storage, (Modern warfare is 100+GB).It’s a good laptop, but I don’t necessarily think the price is justified at what is offered.

Thank you for watching, and thank you for your comment as well! I do think that you make some great points here. I, too, wish upgradability had been more mainstream in premium laptops. Same goes for repairability too-that’s another topic of interest for me. In this laptop, you can upgrade the storage though. That's barely a band-aid on the wound, but it might help.

@@EJYu Ordered the 1660 Ti version yesterday. Don't really plan to game on it. Just wanted a laptop for other stuff, and maybe some light gaming. The reason I went for this particular model is because A: It was within my budget and B: I love the design. Hopefully I'll be satisfied with it. Ps: It was on a pretty generous sale where I bought it, and it was also the 144hz version

Umm why would you want a high refresh rate 4k panel. I doubt you're going to be pushing 144-240 FPS at 4k resolution with this laptop?

Definitely not made for gaming, but more for professional video/photo editing. That being said people will spend their money how they want, I'm sure people have spent it on worse things.

The RTX 2070 model has a optical keyboard option, should I get that one?

If you don't mind pink you can get the RTX 2060 9th gen i7 for 100 dollars less than the 1660ti version!

Referring to the CPU recommendation: It is true, the 9th Gen is faster but in real world performance I've seen mostly the same performance in games. So if you get a good deal, the CPU shouldn't be a concern whithin this lineup. But cooling is another story. I own the RB 15 with RTX 2060 and 8th Gen CPU, so it is the "Early 2019" Model where the RTX 2060 Model still was the "Advanced" version of the RB. (and therefore had the vapor chamber cooling solution) In the "Mid 2019" lineup (seen in the Video) the RTX 2060 was moved down to the Base-Model which has a different cooling solution. I got my hands on the newer one as well, as my brother bought it. I undervolted both models ( the newer is already undervolted by factory a bit) and did some Benchmarks. The Advanced-Model outperformed the Base-Model even though the Base-Model had the newer CPU (9th Gen). Note: I was able to do a bit more undervolting on the 8th Gen, so results may vary.

​@@oukn6293 While testing: ThrottleStop: SpeedShift On (98), -130mv Cache and Core -200mv - stability was tested But I turned SpeedShift off and set Core to -130mv as it decreased my coil whine. - I did no benchmarking with that

If you got money, 16 inch macbook pro, it's amazing, I use it my self to edit on fiverr, if you want windows then Dell's xps lineup is a pretty good lineup for a good price.

Alienware with an rtx is pretty good

The one use case I can think of for a college student not interested in gaming would be for something like mechanical or civil engineering, for which the traditional wisdom is to buy a mobile workstation, and spec for spec, one of these Razer blades is considerably less expensive than something like a dell precision

There is no way that is right for the temps you must mean outside temperature of the laptop and if so you should say

Uhm... do you know how much a 16” MacBook Pro costs? Do you know how many of those are out on college campuses being utilized for solely word and Netflix? Blade is a steal in comparison.

The segment about the CPUs is demonstrably false. There is margin of error differences between the 8750H and 9750H in multi core performance. Both CPUs will be limited to 45W and hoover around 3500MHz after hitting thermal limits. It's only in bursty single core situations where the 9750 can boost to 4.5GHz and the 8750 boosts to 4.1GHz. It is however not noticeable during normal use.

Hi, I just got my razer blade rtx 2060 advanced model, I find it weird that I am only getting around 200-230 fps on CSGO in all low settings. I feel like I should get more fps. I have all nvida drivers up to date and windows up to date with the laptop plugged in. Can someone suggest a suggestion.

My keyboard can only be one colour at the time. Is it because it doesn’t have Razer Chroma? My model has rtx 2060 9th gen Intel i7

JRHARD The 2060 and below are termed the “base” models, which only allow for a single-zone (i.e. the whole keyboard) RGB selection, so it can’t be on a single-key basis. It does have Razer Chroma, that’s how you select the color, but Chroma doesn’t extend to individual keys unless you purchase an “advanced” model (2070 and up)

I feel bad for you 9th generation people, I bought the 8th gen 2060 almost a year ago and mine has per key lighting but it was referred to advanced model back then.

Johnjs I wish they’d kept the 2060 as an advanced model but oh well. I don’t feel like paying the price difference between the 2060 and the 2070 Max-Q

Bought a Razer Blade 15 Base Model 2020 despite living in a country where there is no Razer, i shipped it from the US, when i got it, well made chasis, great color, great response, great trackpad... for about SEVEN DAYS, at the seventh day it was caught in an infinite BSOD loop and the it just died, the screen stays black, aweful experience, and the customer support is terrible, I got a beautiful 2000+ dollars brick with a Razer Logo, consider this when checking this laptop as an option, I also tought (this won´t happen to me, it is very difficult that i get a flawed product, etc..).

Who needs Wayyyludes when your voice is my spirit guide, ohmmm 😑.

My biggest problem with the Razer Blade is the extreme bad support of Razer and the tons of problems after the first 3-6 Months. So I am kinda feared of getting one. I am willed to pay over 2000€ for a notebook, but it should hold some years and for that price a good support should be included.

Yeah, true... I've had my own fair share of experiences with Razer's customer support. Not great. Personally, I get my Razer products from the Microsoft Store (or sometimes Costco too, actually) because of their return policy, warranty coverage, and customer support.

You seem to have omitted or just didnt research enough to know that the 2060 has basically the same performance as a 2070 max-q. Also, a 240hz display on a laptop is overkill, you will only achieve 200+ frames on like 3 games and is not worth the price. Honestly the 2060 variant is the better option, hell even the 1660 ti, since they have similar performance. Just look at other reviewers, Dave 2d for example.

100%... the 1660Ti or RTX 2060 with 144hz panel are by far the most bang for your buck on the RB 15.

@@EJYu I understand what you're saying however, I'll still have to disagree. I disagree because at the configuration you're recommending is $2400. At that price point 256gb is totally unacceptable and because the premium for the upgrade to a 2070 max-q from a 2060 is at least $300. Although you say the rendering and shading may be better but I have to emphasize the gaming performance because the RB15 is a "gaming" laptop and most people who are buying this laptop will in fact be buying it for gaming. As for rendering times and whatnot, the people buying it for primarily that purpose is a small niche if that. As for that niche, I would recommend looking elsewhere as the rb15 lacks in i/o. With that said, a, at the very least, $300 premium for an upgrade to a 2070 max-q to a 2060 is a terrible value because of the similarity in gaming performance and the all too common occurrence of the 2060 being better than the 2070 max-q in some games. However, if someone would want to specifically buy the rb15 with a 2070 max-q, there are much better options such as the Eluktronics mag-15 which includes a 2070 max-q, an sd card reader for those using it for creative purposes, slim all-metal build and better i/o as well as an included 1 Tb ssd standard as well as the option to upgrade to 32 GB of ram and even liquid metal for the CPU and GPU for less than $2400. Tbh, I would recommend someone getting either the 1660 ti/2060 or 2080 max-q. The 2070 max-q is not a good value and the 2080 max-q although more expensive, will warrant noticable improvements over the 2060.

Thank you guys, I’ll hang till January 7-10 to see what Razer might update during their CES show, and get the 2080 version (:

The actual guide - i7-8750H vs. i7-9750H - choose the i7-8750H (models with 8th gen are cheaper, only 5% behind on Cinebench R15/R20, clock 100MHz lower during actual games which makes hardly any difference while gaming). The money saved can be used to upgrade from the 2060 to the 2070MQ, which is around 10% ahead in DX12 games and has an additional 2 gigs of VRAM. The 2080MQ is a viable choice in case you want the best (another 15% ahead of the 2070MQ). Never pay for storage, buy your own and replace - as with any other laptop. 144 Hz vs 240 Hz - 144 Hz is enough for most pros, even Shroud can notice a difference but not take advantage of 240 FPS monitors (check Linus Tech Tips' channel for more).

Can these games be played on PlayStation and xbox or these are strictly Computer games ?

I think if you're a college student who wants to ALSO game then I think this might be one of the better laptops out there if we don't take the option of external graphics since unlike a lot of other laptops it doesnt look ugly and it has decent battery life

I totally agree with you! I just felt the need to really emphasize at the end of my review that this is a *gaming* laptop at heart. Like, you would not believe how many students at my university owns a 2018[*] or 2019 Razer Blade 15 but (1) have allegedly NEVER played games on it, and (2) are NOT planning on playing games on it. I know this as a result of in-person interactions with many of these talented students (some of which I currently still talk to), and it's quite baffling how they somehow made the decision to drop two to three thousand dollars on a gaming laptop they'll never play games on. [*] Mostly 2019 models, though. I think most college students who understand the value of this high-end gaming laptop will still get the Razer Blade 15 regardless of what I said at the end of this review because they *know* that they're going to be playing games on it alongside doing other stuff. But now I feel like there are a lot more college students than I had previously thought who will buy a laptop in question solely because of that laptop's reputation (or something like that), and won't even think about anything else before buying. So that stab at the end is kind of like saying, "Hey, if you're a college student, don't get this unless you know what this laptop is actually for." Anyway, I don't want this reply to come out super long, so I'll end my "tirade" (if even that) here, haha. Thanks for your comment, though! I think you've made a great point here.

@@EJYu thank you for the response, it was quite insightful as I haven't though that people were really getting this laptop for situations like that its bit odd. I mean opening 200 chrome tabs is nice and all, but as you said theyd be better off with something else especially since, although the battery life is good, other laptops with just a CPU and lots of ram would give them way better bang for the money and better battery life since if you're a student that's basically all you need (unless you're a gamer) But you knew that, I hope this does help some people out though

It depends. For some users, getting anything more than 16 GB of RAM might sound ridiculous; but for others, getting >16 GB of memory is a hugely appreciable spec upgrade because perhaps they're using certain programs on their computer that can *actually* benefit from utilizing larger amounts of memory. Now, what those programs in question actually are completely depends on the user. For the consumer / prosumer market at the very least, having more memory (1) makes it easier to multitask and (2) makes it easier to "process" or "temporarily store" large amounts of data. There's obviously a lot more to it, but... that's probably the best answer that I can give without making things too confusing.

I got the Razer Blade 15 Advance Model in Mercury White. With the RTX 2070 Max-Q i7-9750H 16GB ram and 512 SSD and 240Hz 15.6' Screen and it plays everything i throw at it.

found a 10th gen i7, 1660ti, 16gb 144hz razer blade 15 (2020) for 1300 which was pretty nice

1660 ti version is 1300 on amazon

3:20 i have to disagree. Your opininion became invalid if the case is coming from someone who wants to upgrade their old laptop and move their 'upgraded' components to the newer laptop. Thus, in this case user upgradeability is still important.

Rizky Hadi Felani i agree. Upgradability = future-proof = Better Investment. No matter how you slice it. Paying for additional storage& ram is more practical and cost effective. As those parts will always get cheaper with time. The sum of those parts will always be less than purchasing a new laptop. And the build your own pc argument is still invalid if you need heavyweight processing on the go. Computers aren’t only used for netflix and youtube you know.. :-/

At present the best model is the rtx 2080 one with 8th gen i7 and 512gb ssd 144hz As it's price has dropped to $2500 For gamers you wont need the 9th gen Cause it's a minor improvement from 8th gen vs the big graphics upgrade from 2070 to 2080 And the 240hz Is tbh too overall kill Cause there is a very minor diff between 144 and 240hz You can barely push 144fps on modern titles at max graphics Also battery life of the 8th gen is better as it doesn't have the overclocked 9th i7

2070 is better as it runs cooler and apparently has a lower failure rate. 144 hz is also the sweet spot for these laptops.

Thanks for the review man but you can't knock the 1660ti calling it mediocre. That bad mammajamma is putting up good numbers against the 3050ti so next time, put some respek on the 1660's name bruh😏

Nice review ! Adding some points. I think 1660ti/2060 144 hz is best bang for your money. Upgrade to 2070/80 series is $2000+ and we have to upgrade ssd explicitly even after that. Theoretically people should buy the 2070+ versions for future proofing their buy. But you missed one point in this review. Most people buying razer is not buying because of specs. There are other better spec laptops at this price from MSI, Asus, or even HP/Leveno now. The reason I bought this laptop because it has minimalistic and clean look. I work as software developer and do gaming in free time. Believe me it is embarassing to take a gaming laptop to meetings that looks like it came from mars. Razer blade is thin and light to carry to office everyday and fast enough to run almost all games at 100+ fps. Although I only play rainbow six siege I get 180 fps (1660ti) on that. And also I bought it for the keyboard. One of the best in gaming laptops since I type a lot of codes in office.

The 1660ti I would rate as the best of them in value, the real power of the RTX just can't be brought to bare yet on a mobile platform. Proper output just generates either too much heat, or can't readily be cast against lower rated cards at such small a workspace/pixel space. Tech is about to take another leap with the turn of decade and I'd personally go for the low end and jump into the second/third gen of the new tech bracket. As you say for a clean machine with portability and a certain 'throw away' quality; these are great and we use them alot for Music shows on the road. NAMM for example is rapidly approaching (Jan16) and we will be using them for our UAD audio demonstrations. I haven't yet found a laptop worth spending so much on that it dwarfs desktop solutions in value. It simply isn't worth it and lacks everything from cooling to real memory efficiency and headroom. Proper gaming lies in the realm of the properly cooled RTX Black with proper sinks or waterblocks. And it is a supreme difference. At the blade level paying thousands extra for marginal gains is silly. Razer or otherwise.

@@oukn6293 I have 1660ti i7 9th gen black. I don't require ray tracing so did not spent extra on that. Only play R6S which gives me 144+ fps all the time on 1080p low.
