Mine was sitting there unused for two years covered in AZ dust, I'm surprised how easy it was to crank up. I just flipped power rocker to On and the beast went alive like no big deal, from 72F to 90F in 3 or so hours for 17000 gallon pool. Pentair intelliflo 2 VST was running at 3300 RPM.

im about to install one of this but wondering if 1/2 gas pipeline is thick enought to this heater?

I installed in myinground pool. I don’t have a spa just regular pool. I see in the menu pool temp and spa temp. Both are working but what’s the difference? Thanks

Hi, I just bought this unit. For some reason I didn’t turn the pump off and opened all valves so there wasn’t a pressure build up in the heater and then closed the heater valves. This was so I could run the pump and bypass the heater to shock the pool. It sounded like pressure building in the heater so I quickly opened the valves again right away. Anyway it now says water switch open and won’t turn the heat on. Is there a reset for that or do you think I blew something up? I’m really beating myself up over this mostly because I have small kids that won’t be able to swim now because Dad screwed up. I learned to turn the pump off before closing/opening any valves. Any help would be so greatly appreciated! Thank you!

What is the minimum speed required for this heater to run? I have a variable pump and I am not sure about the speed needed. Thanks.

Depends on the pool. I would say 2500

Any idea... My raypak is on rem on but the temperature reads the manual spa temp from the heater and is using that setting. When it first turns on it displays 84 which is the pentair control panel setting, then it changes to spa from the raypak heater setting and stays there. Temp can't be changed on heater control unless I take it out of rem on. Pool company changed a board in the heater last year, could it be hooked up wrong?

If the screen looks off by half a line or garbled, how do you fix that?

hi our pool heater is giving a message that says Rollout SW open. And we can't get it to spark. we are new to this type of heater. does it come with a remote at all?

You can’t. It’s a part of the safety circuits to prevent damage to the heater and potentially voiding the warranty.

My heater is showing that the panel is locked and requires a pin to unlock it and use it manually. How do I unlock it?

hello, I am getting a "no demand" message on my screen and it keeps saying spark. I hear it trying to spark, but it's not kicking on. have you seen the no demand error?

Does this unit have an app or timer?

Luke I'm getting power but the display isn't lighting up. The previous owner used to have to push several buttons to get it to wake up and display. I can't remember how he did it. Do you have any suggestions?

I got really lucky and found the female electrical connector to the water pressure switch came off. Once connected it came right on. I learned my lesson, always turn the pump off before opening or closing valves. Thanks for your help anyway.

So this is kind of crazy but I went out and checked it in the heater shut off it was reading 120°. In the back of my mind I couldn’t figure out how the electrical connection blew off. I remembered seeing the wires sitting on top of that Temperature sensor it was pushed up all the way to the top. I noticed as I pushed the temperature sensor down deeper the water temperature began to drop to normal temperatures. I realized what happened was when the pressure built up in the system from closing those valves it pushed the temperature sensor Up and that’s what blew the wire off the water pressure sensor. So there was a few chain of events that happened which caused the heater to not function properly. I got everything back in order and it is functioning as it should.

I am getting a sensor failure message and the unit won't fire up. I have a Raypak R266A heater. Any clues?

the unit should provide you an error code.

+Bad Alice - The only error code I see is "Sensor Failure" and when I try to find it on the Raypak site I find nothing specific but it looks like it could be the thermocoupler or temperature sensor.

Pool heaters are complex machinery. I can't fix a hvac ac unit or a water heater. With anything Gas related a recommend contacting a professional. Fix it wrong could result in a fire or someone's death.
