Today is Janie Fricke's birthday! Janie and Ray have been friends for decades and even did a stint together at the Desert Inn in Las Vegas at one time. So, here they are together on CabaRay Nashville talking about it and Ray does a short funny song he wrote for a tv special in the '80s called "Janie Fricke, I'd Give You a Hickey". Then, Janie performs her 1983 hit song "You Don't Know Love" live!

She was on The Statler Brothers Show for quite a few years...she and Rex Allen, Jr. The song I think of the most when I hear the name, Janie Fricke, is "He's a Heartache Looking for a Place to Happen".
She coulda sued him if this happened later but she's got true grit in the very different culture of 40 years ago. Her song is great but i think this is not about knowing love but heartbreak. I know someone whose first ever boyfriend first kiss became her husband of 52 years and coumting. When someone asked her about her plan if he goes first she said immediately and casually that she will follow him anywhere. I hope she goes first some time after 101.
