Everyone's dream.

What a wonderful man, one of the greatest songwriters of all time. Had the pleasure of seeing Don in concert Art Centre, Melbourne, Australia

My mother bought this extended poetic 45 back in the early 70's.

In 1979 my wife was pregnant with our first child and we lived in East Los |Angeles. My wife though young 19 then liked soul music for her dad owned a movie theater in Biola, Ca and the kids would run the movie theater ... played all soul music and I was in my 20's .... I was used to Spanish music and she had a hard time adjusting to it. (She was from Hayward Ca. However I was also into Don Mclean, Linda Ronstadt , and many 1960-70s groups. I had never been to a live music place. Heard that Don Mclean was going to be playing in Seal Beach. I bought the tickets and we got there a little late. We waited in line, when we reached the window we were the last ahead in the line and were told that the capacity was full and that we were to wait for the next session. After pleading with the ticket vendor due to my wife's pregnant condition we were allowed in. We enjoyed Don's music .... my wife love it and since, his music was a household item. My wife passed 2 years ago 2019. We had a total of 8 children 4 boys 4 girls. My son Peter the youngest of the boys just passed away October 9th 2020 here in Cedar City Utah. Peter will be bury at Rose Hills Memorial. Whittier, Ca. A memory of my wife's life and mine.

I did not appreciate him and his music back in the old days, but I do now. I'm sorry to hear of the problems between him and his former wife and kids, but I'm glad he is able to have great fun fun a young beautiful fun lady. May he have the best, as he gave us the best. Wow! 🥰❤️ Two of my heroes together! Don McLean sounding EVERY BIT AS AWESOME AS EVER...maybe even better! Every note spot on, all the little twists and edgy nuances I always loved about his singing. Age has brought a new mellow richness. Just like aged liquor. And yeah, this version of the great hit actually better than the famous recording... Rock ON!

This was terrific!!!! Love it!

In the 70's, this song sold well on Japanese radio. Many Japanese boys at that time listened to it because they thought it was a delicious pie song without understanding it as a serious song.
