Ray Steadman-Allen - Salvation Army Music Composer
Filmed earlier this year, the celebrated Salvation Army composer Lieut-Colonel Ray Steadman-Allen talks about his life and his music. Promoted to Glory on Monday 15th December 2014, he'll be missed by friends and family but his musical legacy will live on.

I have Had the Pleasure of Meeting this Man and His Lovely Wife,Who Made Me Cuppa whilst I was Visiting the Citadel,at Rockingham Road,When they Were at Kettering Salvation Army!! When I was Bandmaster at Greenford, I had the Privelege of Playing the Colonel,s "THE ETERNAL QUEST" In His Presence, A Great Privelege in my Life !! A Wonderful and Multi Talented Musical Genius, A Very Warm, Humble Christian Gentleman in Every Way!! He is Now In Heaven With My Dad, Bandmaster Alan Barrett. What a Wonderful Band they Must have Up In Heaven, Amongst Many Musicians from Our Army Past??? One Day If Good Enough, I would like to join with Them Both??? Regards and Gods Blessings!!! If I were to quintessentially define my most poignant and precious memories of thirty years serving in the Salvation Army both as a soldier and officer it would be the touches of grace I experienced through the music of Ray Steadman-Allen. I hadn’t realised he was now in heaven. The angels are blessed.

So special - thank you Salvation Army video for making this - it will have touched so very many people. I have been truly blessed remembering this music, and hearing how it wove into Ray Steadman-Allen's life and his special family relationships. Thanks.
Aww I remember him coming to our small corps (hollinwood in oldham) and what a remarkable impact he has made in my life.......thanks Ray...and the video of where you play..now the day is over to your beloved wife makes me well up every time..God bless you xx
