Mr. Ortlund, I am so thankful for this challenge. I have an idea!! I agree with you we need a song. A song of Scripture and a song of God. A song of gospel freedom and of hope. I’m in the Army and we have these things called cadences. They are songs that match your step. They motivate, but they also increase morale AND they make you feel so much closer to one another. My favorite cadence memory was a battalion run we did one morning in the rain. The cadences were so loud and we were all in step, it becomes a kind of dance really, and your energy doubles. But what if we had this in the Christian church! What if we men (and women) started a running group or something that sang cadences of worship & scripture? My wife and I were in the mountains of Montana recently and as we were running down the mountain I started singing psalm 23 to the tune of the Braveheart soundtrack in step. Man it lifted me. I felt so carried away into God’s freedom & joy & truth. Can we write some things like this people?? And start some groups like this? :D

It's important to describe the sin of the industry in a way that includes the variations we see today. It's no longer necessarily about an impersonal production company in LA or Vegas that exploits poor girls with no power and passes them around to new partners every scene. Now you have things like committed, monogamous married couples that run their own OnlyFans accounts and are fully in control of their own careers and finances. You have to account for the agency of women who produce their own content entirely free of any oversight. If we only describe the wrongs of the industry in a way that covers the former then it can make the latter seem like a gray area to people.

I am ashamed that I used to love porn. That's until the Lord came into my life. I want to be pure hearted and holy so I find it disgusting now. He also taught me that there are many victims in that industry. I am praying for justice (Luke 18:1-8) and praying for the sex trade/industry to be dismantled. It will take a move of the Spirit of God. A song filled with the Holy Spirit that captures the beauty, holiness, and purity of marriage (between man and woman) would be very potent. There were certain secular songs that swept through the nations in the 90s and made an impact. We certainly have all we need to make a greater impact. We have the Song of Songs! The last chapter is so powerful. One more thing...what Mr. Ortlund said about porn being demonic is not hyperbole in the least. I know personally.
