Your Welcome, Janet... 'I'm happy you enjoyed it... 'I've spent a good part of my adult life in Jazz supper clubs in the greater LA Area as, a patron of Tasty Music & somewhat in San Francisco... 'I was sitting in an LA SFV J Club one night.. enjoying the Page Cavanaugh Trio & seated at table behind me was, Bobby Troup, who along W/ Neil Hefti composed 'Girl Talk'... 'which made a special evening.... 'Even More Special'....
Nobody does it quite like Ray... perfect combination of sterling technique, light touch, improvisational architecture, inventiveness, and blues/funk flavor.
BRILLANT ....VIVE LA MUSIQUE ET LES MUSICIENS DE TALENT COMME BRYANT. LE REMEDE A LA BETISE

There in 1966/7 when in was the rave. I have moved on to Yuko Mabuchi's Version.

Raphael Homer "Ray" Bryant (December 24, 1931 - June 2, 2011) He recorded from 1955 to 2008.
Ray's sure got a way of sayin it and layin it down .
4:00 an excellent, clearly recorded bass solo, a rarity in the sometimes muddy recordings of the genre

It's not too fast for me.
This is another version. Some of the chord choices worry me and the bass player keeps playing the same incorrect bass note in every verse second line. kzread.info/dash/bejne/lKusu9Z-m8zbmqg.html
hate to disagree but I think he mutilates this smooth understated sexy ballad In my opinion his approach is all wrong

I'm glad to disagree. At what point does he mutilate he the song? At 1 minute or 2 minutes or 3 to 6 minutes? RB's rendition is cool strong and edgy. I get Girl Talk is a soft jazz song. I like Oscar Peterson's version and of course Julie London's version is the ultimate. RB hit a homer.

In my opinion he mutilates a smooth seductive sophisticated understated jazz piece and turns it into a heavy handed hard blues exercise His approach is closer to Watermelon Man than Girl Talk
