    Your Welcome, Janet... 'I'm happy you enjoyed it... 'I've spent a good part of my adult life in Jazz supper clubs in the greater LA Area as, a patron of Tasty Music & somewhat in San Francisco... 'I was sitting in an LA SFV J Club one night.. enjoying the Page Cavanaugh Trio & seated at table behind me was, Bobby Troup, who along W/ Neil Hefti composed 'Girl Talk'... 'which made a special evening.... 'Even More Special'....

    4:00 an excellent, clearly recorded bass solo, a rarity in the sometimes muddy recordings of the genre

    hate to disagree but I think he mutilates this smooth understated sexy ballad In my opinion his approach is all wrong

    I'm glad to disagree. At what point does he mutilate he the song? At 1 minute or 2 minutes or 3 to 6 minutes? RB's rendition is cool strong and edgy. I get Girl Talk is a soft jazz song. I like Oscar Peterson's version and of course Julie London's version is the ultimate. RB hit a homer.

    In my opinion he mutilates a smooth seductive sophisticated understated jazz piece and turns it into a heavy handed hard blues exercise His approach is closer to Watermelon Man than Girl Talk
