In this video, I'm taking a dark, pine dresser and stripping it down to bare wood. I'm creating a chalk paint wash to give it a natural raw wood look. I'll also be using decoupage rice paper on the drawers for the first time.

Sooo much lighter and brighter, yet neutral enough to go about anywhere. Excellent choice of finishing!!

Yes! Thank you!
Oh that came out so nice and the decoupage is a great touch I’m going to use that on my up coming project.
My favorite style, will be painting my two night stands just like this! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
This piece came out beautiful. I would love that in my home!💓
It’s really great when you find out the piece is solid wood. Lovely work Christina ❤️🇬🇧
Another great video and super finish, as an abstract artist my mind was overflowing with the different colours that could be used, as you said it would suit many different finishes, again great piece. 👏😊
What a nice find Christina. The color wash and new hardware you selected really suit this dresser. You always come up with the perfect look! Love it.🌷🌷
I am loving the natural wood look. Looked so beautiful!
WOW! That is BEAUTIFUL ☺️. Love the natural color of the wood and the decoupage drawer solution and the hardware!
That is a pretty finish & different piece. Very cute!

Nice!
Beautiful job! I also love this technique!
The lighter color really shows off the detail of the dresser which were almost invisible when it was dark. Beautifully done. I love the whitewash technique!
Love the peekaboo deco! So cute 😍
Unrecognizable, Christina. Well done.
Beautiful piece!! And... another perk to making your own stain is you can make the color you want instead of choosing from what's available at the store 😀
Wow I love this piece SO much! I haven’t tried decoupage yet but you made it look so easy so I want to try it now!
Beautifully done. I’m so glad you kept the nail heads. But gilding them looked sooo hard on that tiny surface!
I am just obsessed with your projects and so inspired. Just wanted to ask how many times you change the sand paper on your sander to strip the top of a piece like this
I love the rice paper Christina. Very nice.

That came out beautiful.
Came out soon Beautiful...wow👍☺️❣️
It turned out so nice. Great job!
Love how this turned out! Also, noticed you don’t need to paint surface white for decoupage! Time saver!
Love it and the drawers were a nice touch!
I had often thought about wetting raw wood before a paint wash. To help the paint distribution, thanks for confirming those things that roll around in my brain!

Fab!!!
Love it!
This is great!!!
Love it 💕
Love this. Can I use this technique on top of a surface I just stained? I know what you mean by getting uneven results when staining. I want to try to salvage all the work I just did with the stain if I can use the chalk paint wash technique over it. Thank you!
Bonjour! Very niiiice! Christine
It came out so beautiful, I have a piece of furniture for my dinning room and it was white with some yellowish stains on it and it had some chipped of pieces so I decided to strip off the paint so I got it to the raw wood and sanded it out , I’m thinking of using brown chalk paint do I have to put any primer on it ? If I like to go dark on it ?
Looks amazing I have the same piece it's from Pier 1 Imports ..
good work.....................
Amazing 💥
Let's be real, the star of the show was the salsa container 3:35 🤣 I'm only joking, this turned out beautifully! Well done, you need a vacation!

I have so much extra hardware that I may have a problem lol
Using a liquid/gel stripper could help if I don't have an electric sander?
Love it! Perfect choices with the color. And those drawers! I feel like it needs feet of some sort. Am I crazy?
Stunning! I have a small MCM buffet and dining table plus 4 chairs to refinish but cant afford a sanding set up like yours. Wish I could! Are there any alternatives?

I used a DeWalt orbital sander for years with great results. Much more affordable option.
Thinking of buying a sure prep. Can I use the electric without a vacuum hook up? Or with our shop vac?
@ChristinaMuscari
3 жыл бұрын
You can use a shop vac instead of the dust extractor like mine. I’ve got a discount code if you decide to take the plunge!
Love it. How long did it take to sand the piece
Can you use that top coat on Annie Sloan chalk paint?
Amazing as always! What do you use to clean your brush after the gilding wax?
@ChristinaMuscari

I use a mild dish soap like dawn to clean my brushes.
Hi Christina, I'm new to the channel, got a quick question, so I've sanded my crib down to the raw wood, wondering what type of Chalk paint I can use,? Need it to have primer also don't have access to the Annie Slain Brand So my option that I wanna go with is the Bear brand from Home depot Thanks so much Don't have a lot of time to....
Great you’re online, I have a question for you and I really hope you can help. How would you take care of a dresser that has splinters inside the drawers besides sanding it because I really tried that and it still has splinters in it. Oh and by the way it’s a brand new dresser
Hi Christina, thanks for sharing this! I have a varnished dark brown timber ceiling in my kitchen which I would like to white wash. Do you think this could be done without sanding? If anyone has done anything similar, feedback would be appreciated. Thanks! ❤
This was a great transformation. The papers were so pretty, too. Wondering if you wash your rags? Sorry to say but I usually throw mine away. Worried the paint could mess up my washer.

I toss them!
I notice that you have not really been using the Festool sander. I thought this would have been the piece to use it on but you used the Surf Prep again. Is there any reason you don't use the Festool sander? Do you find it too aggressive?
Love this! Question: If I suspect my wood is a bleeder, should I use primer w/shellac before doing a chalk paint stain like this? 🤔

What do I do if I want to white wash a piece of furniture that is red ?

Hello from Missouri!! Can't wait to watch!!
Am I missing the link for the paper towels that you use? Thanks in advance if you could help.

I'm adding them now! I forgot them.
May I ask, when do you determine to sand instead of use a stripper?
@ChristinaMuscari
3 ай бұрын
It just preference. Stripping will make your sanding eaiser, but it's messy and you have to be okay working with chemicals.
Where do you get those clear plastic cups you use to put your paint in?

Me encantan los trabajos que haces pero una pregunta podría ser en español para saber exacto que utilizas y cómo muchas gracias desde Palma de Mallorca España
