I've never driven on the autobahn bit my dad always told me everyone should learn to drive on it because you learn real quick to pay attention to what's racing up behind you just as much as us Americans pay attention to what's in front of us or else you don't last long. Hell, a lot of people here actually don't even pay attention to what's in front of them! But when you have a cop racing up behind you with lights and sirens, move the hell over. And most importantly, notice it! People on the road are so unaware of everything. But on another note, to this news station that posted this, would it have been possible to get the other dashcam videos from the pursuit that actually showed the pursuit and not just a cop trying to catch up the entire time, then edit them together? This long video showed nothing and was a waste of time

When I first moved to Chicago, I saw a driver camping on the left lane on I90, doing something on his phone. I was on the center lane, and the left lane was closing up ahead. There was a road construction blockade, which is basically a huge pile of solid steel structure. This guy was completely oblivious to what he was running into. I switched to the right lane and honked. He suddenly slammed on the breaks and broke into the right lane, completely ignoring if its occupied or not. Had he waited a few more seconds, he and his car were gonna become part of that blockade. And the messed up part is that I knew exactly how he was going to react to being notified of the danger he was in, hence I made space for him before honking.

If you are travelling in the fast lane, passing a truck, and you see lights and siren behind you .....DO NOT PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE. You need to speed up and quickly get ahead of the truck so you can pull to the right and get out of the way. Slowing down, braking only slows the emergency vehicle down more. Speed up and get out of the way.

@@donmoore7785 Really? What does the law say when you think they are after you? Pull over right away. Right? So your statement doesn't make sense unless you think it's ok to just keep driving. Ever since I first started to drive I learned to pull over immediately when any emergency vehicle is coming up on me . One should't have to "remember what the internet says." On a highway if you are paying attention and checking your rear view mirrors regularly, and you see flashing bright lights coming up on you there is time for you to check the lane beside you and move over. People who don't pull over are not paying attention, period.

Hat's off to the locals who seem to check their rear-view often enough to know what's going on and abide by the "get out of the fucking way I'm going 120 cop chase rule." Also, most appear to drive in the right lane unless they're passing. As a 25 year Floridian, that's refreshing.

In Germany the Autobahn has a strict law to only pass in the far left lane, and by 30 kms faster or more than the vehicle being passed! If one only had a jacket and cap to put on or take off, a way to change appearance to the sky quick, get in, swap colors, and walk walk right back out, long before the wheeled vehicles got there, leave the suv, and casually walk into some other nearby door at a nearby building, a restaurant, bar, or shop, etc, blend in and call a taxi . . .

It's really nice to see people actually clear the road for the police. (I used to work in ambulances in the '70s & '80s and it was a regular habit in those days.)

If you are travelling in the fast lane, passing a truck, and you see lights and siren behind you .....DO NOT PUT YOUR FOOT ON THE BRAKE. Whew!!!
When you studied for you drivers license I am sure you got to the part that states drive to the right except to pass or preparing to turn left
My biggest takeaway from this is everyone in Ohio goes 45mph in the left lane and doesn't know where the rear view mirror's at
In Germany the Autobahn has a strict law to only pass in the far left lane, and by 30 kms faster or more than the vehicle being passed! In North America, the slower traffic to keep right is worded as a suggestion and not enforced, and semi trucks should never be occupying the left lane except when passing, but as always we are always decades behind Europe!
Almost the entire video is cops far away from the pursuit trying to get closer. Apparently dashcam footage from the actual pursuers was not available. The suspect vehicle makes a cameo appearance at the end, though we aren't shown whether they caught him.

Driving like maniacs for 50 mi. Putting the public at risk , when there's already multiple county units involved...and for what????
At the beginning, at first I thought that might be the 11 foot 8 (can opener) bridge... Also, I disagree with the many commenters talking about how this is boring, or should have been edited, because there is no resolution, etc.... The point is not to provide us with entertainment, believe it or not. The point of these videos being made public is transparency. NBC4 Columbus was either given, or obtained this LEO dash cam video and publishes it so that we all (the public) can have better knowledge of our LE organizations and officers and how they perform and act and react in high speed chases.
