You guys must not know anything about criminal defence lawyers. You are supposed to look stoic at all times in court. It doesn't matter whether they think their clients are guilty or not. Most lawyers definitely think their client is guilty. They will defend them to the very end that is one of the pillars of our justice system.

Even if he got the death penalty, it would take over 10-20 years to administer not to mention it’s a lot more expensive to have. But he didn’t, he will serve the rest of his life in prison unlike OJ (not to mention Emmitt Till’s killers) who killed someone and didn’t serve any prison time I’m just saying that Ron & Nicole’s families as well as Emmitt’s had every right to be angry and upset because there was truly no justice or accountability in their cases.

Robert renewed his law license the second O.J was being accused. Nobody knew exactly what evidence was on O.J until 2-3 months later. It is unethical for a lawyer to drop his client in the middle of a case, that almost causes an automatic guilty verdict for your client. When the bag thing became a big story too, I bet that was part of the decision for Rob to go on the team, they can't make a client's lawyer testify. This was a nasty situation for all parties.

It's not necessarily a no-win situation. Hypothetically, suppose OJ really were innocent and someone else were guilty, it would be justice for Nicole. If you were a victim of attempted murder, and you knew the wrong person went to prison for the crime, you would take it personally, living with the guilt that the wrong person is doing time for a crime against you. You would want to exonerate the innocent person even moreso than you would want to convict the guilty person.

We studied this case extensively in my criminal law class while I was in law school. Back in the early 1990's, DNA evidence was still a relatively new science and wasn't considered to be as nearly as conclusive as it is now. At least two of the jurors (maybe more) confused someone's DNA with someone's blood type. While it is very possible for two people to have the same blood type, the only way two people can have the same DNA is if they are identical twin. Therefore, the blood at the crime scene that had OJ's DNA could have only come from him unless he had a long lost twin. But a couple jurors thought that since many people have the same blood type, it was possible that the "real killer" just happened to have the same blood type as OJ.

This case was the first news story I recall hearing about as it happened. I would've been 6 or 7. However, let's make one thing abundantly clear: he was as guilty as sin. He was only acquitted because his lawyers absolutely blew the prosecution's arguments to smithereens, and several of the jurors later admitted they felt that way.

  • @billybrand9976

    @billybrand9976

There was no “arguments” to be made. The DNA evidence and other witness testimony was clear as daylight. He got acquitted because his lawyers confused the dimwitted jury with a load of nonsense that they swallowed. And they were mainly Black women who didn’t care if a White bitch who stole one of their fellas got hers.

That morning in homeroom, my classmates were discussing in anticipation. One of them asked for my input, to which I said that I think O.J. did it. They all ganged up on me at my desk and pounded on me, "You're supposed to be on OUR side!" The verdict was announced during lunch period. Almost everyone was equipped with Walkmans, including one of the seniors who stood up victoriously with his fists in the air and gleefully shouted, "Not guilty!" which sent the whole lunchroom into a cheerful uproar. After the bell rang, a bunch of sophomore girls were "Tootsie Roll" line-dancing down the hallway while chanting "Not guilty" in unison.

Oj was innocent. His son Jason did it. OJ covered for his son who was a chef (access to knives) with bipolar /rage disorder who previously assaulted a ex girlfriend. Jason was expecting his ex stepmom Nicole and the kids to arrive to dinner at the restaurant he worked and they were a no show. Pissed off and off his meds and prone to rage issues he went there, they opened the door because they know who he is, and he attacked and killed them with his knives. Called his dad when he realized what he done.. People think he was joking but OJ wasn’t lying when he said he knew who the killer is but he can’t say who it is. it wasn’t him. It was his son. Look at Jasons emotional reaction after the car chase when he reunited with his dad. Jason was acting like a straight up guilty maniac and OJ hired an attorney for Jason immediately after Nicole’s death. His alibi was he was at work at the restaraunt even though he got off early that night

I strongly believe he did it, but I do respect the so called "Reasonable doubt". The prosecution made big unforgivable mistakes, and underestimated the celebrity with great popularity who could afford big star lawyers. They thought they could easily win the case, and therefore wasn't careful enough. They didn't thought race would be relevant, but it did. These are the reasons why O.J. got away with the murders: 1. Johnnie Cochran played the race card over and over again to make the jury believe O.J. was framed by the LAPD. They were very unpopular by the African-american citizens because of the racial victimization at either the time or the past. 2. The defense proved that the cop who found the bloody glove, Mark Fuhrman, was extremely racist, based on voice tapes including racial comments said by Fuhrman. This made the possible frame more believable for the jury. When asked if he had planted or manufactured evidence, Fuhrman invoked his Fifth Amendment instead of answering "no". This surely made the jury believe he was lying. 3. The case has been described as the most publicized criminal trial in American history. It was also a very sensitive case since O.J. was black and his ex-wife was white. Again, the race card was played. The jury might have believed there would be another riot if O.J. was found guilty. Again, the fault was on the LAPD. 4. The DNA evidence was too new at the time and the jury refused to take it seriously since they couldn't comprehend the new technique. 5. The glove didn't fit. "If it doesn't fit, you must acquit". 6. The prosecution didn't mention O.J. attempt to flee the country. In fact, they didn't even mention the Bronco chase. 7. The prosecution didn't have the murder weapon. 8. O.J. only had one single small cut wound on his hand, which didn't really make sense for the jury. Committing such a brutal murder should result a lot more blood on the offender. Also, the glove didn't have any cuts at the very same spot as O.J.s hand. 9. Prosecutor Marcia Clark had private issues at the time and didn't have the power to fulfill her duty at the very most. (I think she even met with sexist attention by the public) 10. It might be possible that the jury was mistreated during the time of trial. This might has caused them to lose their respect for the community, giving them a reason to vote not guilty as a protest. If I was in the jury's shoes, I would have believed O.J. did it. But thinking of the faulty system and the lack of competence from the prosecution, it would be impossible to not consider the theories brought by the defense. With that in consider, it would not be so simple to vote guilty. The jury wasn't morons, they had the effect of the verdict in mind. If I voted, this is what I would have thought: Am I going to send one murderer to prison and let millions of life be in danger of possible riots? Or am I going to set one murderer free to prevent lives being in danger and hope the system would improve to not making mistakes again? It was all about "Reasonable doubt" that made Simpson found not guilty. The prosecution failed to prove O.J.s guilt. The system failed to help the prosecution to win. So this is my opinion. If you have anything to argue or discuss with me, feel free to reply my comment.

The jury didn't buy the prosecution's "case" plain and simple. According to the prosecution, OJ did all of this completely by himself and was at the airport getting on his flight within an hour after hiding the bloody clothes and bathing somewhere other than where he was staying (his shower was taken apart with no trace of blood found, and to this day, over 29 years later, neither the bloody clothes he supposedly wore nor the knife were ever found). The "evidence" rested on the lead detective, who pleaded the fifth at the trial for planting evidence. The prosecution also sealed Nicole's phone records. Her final phone call was made to her mother. According to the prosecution, when Nicole was talking to her mother.....OJ was already boarding his flight. Years after the trial, even though the defense won the trial, the defense still tried to get access to Nicole's phone records but the prosecution still has them blocked.

There was no way OJ could have done all of this completely by himself, and then hide everything, with no accomplices, so perfectly that none of it has been found in almost 30 years. OJ was neither physically capable nor had the time to do all of this, then make his flight on time. Ron Goldman's boss was murdered identically and even also had his body mutilated the same way. Whoever murdered him had to have also murdered Ron and Nicole. It had to have been a drug hit.

To a greater degree but, like the Depp/Heard trial this got so much attention because of several factors. First, it was the 1st nationally televised trial involving a well known celebrity who had recently been shown in a nationally televised car chase scene before his surrender to authorities. The only reason people care so much is because it was televised! Make this a re regular non-televised trial and he might have been found guilty of one or both of the charges. Just like, if the Depp/Heard trial hadn't been televised, he might have been found guilty. The power of television to alter perceptions of people. It was clear them and it is now.

This makes me believe that the people have and never will be intrested in the truth.....what matters is the perception of the truth and how it benefits other people and they can go to any extent for it to be benefited by it

True man i can understand their love for oj prior but with a case like this connected, how can they be so sure it's a setup, why do they think it's right for them to defend oj despite not being there at that moment to know the truth. If it was my idol, i would atleast wait for evidence and all the evidence were against him

This case is a perfect example of what happens when you sell a murder to be a Polaroid representation of race relations in America. At some point it became we need to get one for us and get back at them.

I think in the beginning Robert Kardashian really did believe his friend and wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, because I'm sure like most of us if we were in that kind of situation, we would never believe someone in our life could be capable of that kind of horrific act. However, then as the details emerged throughout the investigation and trial he came to the realization that his friend was guilty. There was a great scene in the show "The People vs. OJ" where he wrestled with his conscious of wanting to leave the trial but knowing that ethically as his lawyer that would look really bad and would most likely convict him just on that alone. After playing him in the series, David Schimmer said after all the research he did, he believes that Robert Kardashian never fully recovered from the effects of the trial and I believe it.

This is sad to watch. Victims did not get the justice they deserve. Family of the victims will forever not be the same and will forever carry this.

Its so damn unhealthy to sit through long trials as the fsmily of a victim. Ive seen this over and over; just look at the Goldman Family. Theve destroyed themselves by puttinf themselves in this situation where you can do nothing but brood over this for so long. A trial that lasts several months will mess you up so bad, youre never the same. Imo its often more emotionally damaging than the actual murder. I just dont get why people do this to themsleves; its insane.

Haha 1:34 telling everyone to "Let's have it quiet in the courtroom please." while Nicole's sister is the only one crying hysterically. Pretty much like "HEY LADY...QUIET...we're trying to make it loud and clear to your daughter's murderer that he is FREE and INNOCENT now STOP CRYING! Show some respect!"

The Karran Events it's called Dark Sarcasm (well I just dubbed it that term)...Re-Read my comment with pure Sarcasm. You will see what I really said was: "It is an absolute disgrace that this Murderer got off the hook. The Victims' Families are distraught, emotional and crying (as they should be for knowing their family member's Killer is being told he is "Not Guilty"). The Judge orders the Victims' Families to be "Quiet" while they are basically forced to honor and respect the Court which just found that Murderer "Not Guilty".

I get your joke lol. Why would the Judge tell everyone to be quite after they allowed a murderer to get away with it.
