Oh @Painting with Jane how I missed you! I am about 3/4 of the way done with this painting and it reminded me of how painting with you brought me such comfort. It's been awhile since I even had the desire to paint after good ole 2020...Sad I lost my son and then last living brother. The two people in my family that supported my art work so I went into a bad place for a bit. I did however do some painting and mostly from your tutorials...the ghosts like subjects were closer to my reality than painting flowers. I also was able to find you and Vince's book "Shadows on the Page" ! You are both a good team!! Anyway, I just wanted to say hello and let you know I am holding your brushes once again!

Can't wait to try it this weekend! Also, thank you so much for zooming in and showing texture. I become a bit obsessive with covering based on what I think I see, but it sabotages me 😅 it's like makeup tutorials when they don't show skin texture and the lighting makes it all look so smooth. I thought the close up looked beautiful and helped show me that what I end up with is actually right! 🙌 You're seriously the best teacher, thank you.

The reason I ask, Is I grew up in Harnett County in North Carolina & the is a state park minutes from wjetr I grew up called Raven Rock!! It is Beautiful, with a river & lots of walking trails & the center of the park is a HUGE rock called "Raven Rock!! Thank You for the blast from the past & the memory sparked from your Beautiful artwork for some of the best parts of my childhood!!
