You are fabulous. Thank you for doing this tutorial. I was forced to figure mine out all by myself. I use both hands. What I cannot guage with one, I can usually do with the other. Being ambi has its ups and downs. But this little tool was a show stopper. Not in a good way. LOL I finally realized that you use it to deburr, which is taking off the very edge. Not create a new one. The trick to this guy is light pressure and allow the head just a little bit of latitude to do its thing. Placement matters, pressure matters and the head will follow the path if you allow it. I am not sure how to explain it any better than that. They are super sharp for that reason. So use it to your advantage and make it easy on yourself. Not sure how to say it any better than that. I hope you understand. Thank your for this. Very few have done it. I for one, truly appreciate it very much.

Good information, I will have to dig out that tool that I have but couldn’t figure it out either. Softly makes sense. I use the emery board for acrylic nails and use those softly too and only in one direction not sawing. But that wouldn’t go in small areas like your frog. 😊Thanks for this I can’t wait to try it!

@kathleenpoole1372 your tool and give it a go as they are so easy to use and handy and it will give you a cleaner nicer, thinner edge than what an emery board gives on resin. Yes it's so much easier to get into those tricky areas too. Hope you find your tool and softly, softly x

Well I’ll be buggered!! This tool has sat in my drawer since not long after I bought it… but, I will dig it back out now and give your method a go! It certainly did ok with your frog’s toes!! I have been using either my craft knife (I think the word you were looking for was ‘utility’ knife) or a nail file! Thanks Lis… for taking the time and effort to show us! That dang tool...I seen this when I first got started and thought 🤔 the tool is going to be my new bestie but then I tried it. 😢I hated it. I felt like I had no control over how it cut. I've gauged out little divots into my pieces, I've scratched lots of pieces too. Thank goodness I'm only practicing technique with resin epoxy pieces but once I'm in my new spot and get set up,I'll be moving up towards being more serious about getting things done. Thank you for sharing,I absolutely Love that frog 🐸 he turned out so pretty. How did you keep bubbles from forming once poured

@doobiescooby6328 yes I wrecked so many pieces when I first started using this tool but not anymore. No bubbles as this resin is excellent for degassing itself its a deep pour. The details on the resin are in the description box. Lis x

Oh, I've never seen this before. Ive been using a dremel... and ya lots of pieces have been scratched or guaged too much. I will try it!

@Serkunny yes give it a go. It does take a bit longer then a dremel ( I use to use mine too) but it looks so much nicer with the deburring tool

It's hard to tell from tell from the video but as a lefty you should make sure you have a left-handed blade, as the are asymmetric and cut a whole lot cleaner in the right direction. You should be able to just lightly draw the blade along the edge and let the blade follow. The juddering you were getting at 2:29 makes it look like you are using a right-handed blade..

@wacomtexas it seems to work either way. Sometimes you get the juddering when you first start and depending on how old the resin is too it can judder the older the resin is so it works best on a newer piece

@@GirlintheGarageDotStore I have three, and they are all right-handers. All three work terribly if I try in my left, no matter what the material. Take a look and check if you can see a difference between the grind on each side of the blade(only aubtle but it matters) , and also let a right-handed friend try it. A right-hand tool should go clockwise around the work, and vice-versa. I learned the hard way. Another tip: try and get it right first time- subsequent passes always seen to be more 'catchy'.. 😎

Thanku for the video...very informative. However watching it I couldn't help wondering whether the blue handle was actually necessary and maybe just using the blade might work just as well without the weight and clumsiness of the handle?

I just ordered one of these from temu. I was not sure how to use it, thanks. And also the idea for the shells inside the frog how did you get the shells inside without bubbles? Or was that a problemwithyour frog too?

@craftsshack your welcome. No bubbles in my Frog from the shells as I used a deep pour resin and iso. alcohol. Check out my Seashell Frog tutorial it will show you how I did it

I have never figured out why on earth it would have a swivel head! I don’t use the handle.

It has a swivel head because it’s actually a plumbing tool for deburring plastic ( abs) pipes after cutting them
