Agreed that’s a beautiful job you’ve done..great works👍🏼
Here I am in 2024 using your video for my panzer 12 gauge G4. Thank you for taking the time to shoot this video.

I’m glad it’s still useful all this time later.
That turned out as good if not better than some of the commercial camouflage paint jobs I've seen that cost same as your rifle.
I have found that you can find several good plastic plants that make better stencils than the natural plants do. Being made of plastic, they are stiffer than natural plants and don't move while spraying. Plus, you can save them in your cammo kit for later touch ups or other projects.

Lol , thats Fred , i was in the check out line , like a week after thanksgiving at the dollar general store. I looked over next to me , there was 3 boxes of said stuff , dirt cheap . What was 2-5 dollars i got for less than a dollar . Like 50 or 75 cents . I loaded up on different leaf patterns and such , great deal ! Lol the lady looked at me kinda funny ' like would you a man be buying all this stuff . Then she couldn't help her self and did ask . My reply , im gonna paint Freedom . My rifle . I gotta say ive seen some great paint jobs , but Nate killed it here , especially with off the shelf walmart paint

5 years later and this helped me out. Thank you
I've been looking at rifle camo videos, as others have mentioned, and this is by far the best. Good Job, Man...looks real.
Well done! I can't wait to paint my Savage .17wsm like that. Absolutely a wonderful paint job. It just looks great with the depth and how the dusting of paint gives little details while blending it all together
Best gun camo job I have seen, thus far. Excellent work, brother. I like that you added the clear coat.
Looks really good. One of the best I've seen so far on KZread and I've watched almost everything. The break up is really nice
I've probably watched at least 30 videos this afternoon, and this one definitely looks the best. Great job brother!👍 All I want to do is the slide on my pistol, so this gave me assurance that I can do it. Thanks for sharing! ☮️
Excellent work. I relied heavily on this video when I originally painted my FV-SR over a year ago. Watched it again today as a brush-up because I'm about to swap out the factory stock. Thanks for sharing your work!

AWESOME JOB !!! By far the best camo job I've seen !
I love this camo paint job, by far one of the best on KZread. I did the same pattern on my M14+ FAL.
Best camo job I’ve seen so far! Really looks great!!
Looks good to me. My experience with Cerakote hasn’t been very good as far as durability goes. The great thing about a rattle can job, other than cost, is the ease of touching it up if needed. Thanks for the video from Central N.C.
The best DIY camo job I've seen. This rifle turned out perfect. Great contrast in the colors and I really like the soft edges left from using natural foliage instead of stencils. Great job!

Thanks! I've been stunned by how it turned out, and how the video has been so well received.
Probably the best paint job I've seen in KZread, nice work dude!
That's the best camo job I've seen so far and I watched tons of videos... Great job...
I was thinking your base color was too light as well but I was wrong, that paint job turned out great. Much better than most I've seen and right up there with the best. Thanks for sharing.
Another tip, I see you're having trouble seeing the paint with the bushy pine leaf branch. Try snipping off some of it's branches to make it less bulky and more flat. The paint is having trouble spraying past the bushy stuff. And to those new to spray cans, and want to reuse the remaining paint in the can later, turn the can upside down and spray until paint stops flowing out of the nozzle. The nozzle and tube inside shouldn't clog up the next time you use it then. I'm spraying my RC tank in camo, great video thanks!
I think u found your calling, great job! The best video I've watched so far and that's been several.
that is by far the best camo job I have ever seen
Its really nice that you don't take out hardly any of the footage from the video. When you can see everything that is done specifically, it really helps.
Nice job, looks great. Also, this was the best demo I've seen of actual show & tell of the process...of how you did it anyway. Gives me the confidence to do some camo projects myself. Thanks brother.

Must've watched 20 camo paint videos and this is one of the best if not the best. It's more than a camo job it's like a landscape portrait by a famous painter.

That looks great. I wasn't sure as you were mid way thru but it turned out nice with nice depth in the camo. Great narration as well.
Brother you did an amazing job with the Camo I wasn't sure at first if I was going to like it but when you were done I just think it turned out phenomenal! I'm going to try it on my RRA Ar 10 thx for sharing!

From all the videos I have watched, this to me is my favourite. 👊
Excellent video. I'm painting the same rifle and this is exactly the "how to" I was looking for. Thanks!
NICE... The whole trick to doing camo is to use what is around you. Leaves, ferns, grasses, whatever the background is, you need to mimic it. Very nice job Nate the bone buster

Really awesome and unique camo job man!
so I'm sitting here surfing CSC while I'm watching camo vids on KZread, and out of nowhere comes the tactical Wilson racquet!! I've been browsing Dorton's thread daily for about a week now. just making sure this is what I really want to do to my AR. great job bud, and I'll see you on the board. zukimon out...
Looks great. I always start with dark first and lighter colors after. It adds depth. When you look at the woods your lighter colors are out front and darker shadows as you look deeper in.
that's one of the best camo jobs i've seen on YT...great job,has lots of depth, looks very 3d...a little on the dark side for my area but that's easily cured..great job

Hey Nate, I used your method on my air rifle, and it came out great. Did it about 8 months ago, now decided to redo it. I have busted about 12 squirrels trying to get my peaches and pecans!, they can't see that camo job!!! Thanks again Bro...

+Samuel Cruz That's great news! We just worked a property that had pear and pecan snatchers, as of today there are 11 less. Keep up the good work.
Looks awesome, I think I may try that. I really like the way it came out. Great job.
That’s is an awesome job!!!! One of the best I have seen! Thanks for sharing!
Turned out pretty darn good.
I've looked a dozens and dozens of camo videos and I think this is the one I'll use as may guide for doing my AR. I also have the FVSR in .22 long and will do it also.
That is fantastic Nate, unreal work.
you can get awesome fake leaf and branch patterns at stores like michaels, hobby lobby even walmart. they dont blow off when spraying and you get crisper edges and better looking patterns. they are dirt cheap too like $3.00 each. if you use the camo colors from rustoleum or krylon, definitely use spray clear as they tend to dry chalky and scrape off easily. the clear makes a big difference
Did my Mossberg .410 yesterday using your basic methods....came out well! Happy Labor Day 2020,

Wow that turned out really good. Nice job! Free it gets work it'll look even better
You're right, my thumb was also painted over, blended in right with the stock. Good observation, as I'd never caught that. Glad you liked it.
Good video presentation as you built up the patterns and keep in mind that what you see just painted will diminish and get the lasting effect once it flashes off and starts to dry. Dusting with other colors lightly help blend or mesh in the colors to give it a more natural look in the end. A coat of clear coat mat also helps with a light dusting maybe max 2x from a distance to flatten and dull the colors.
best camo job on here and i've watched a bunch of them
That came out gorgeously!!! I am trying to figure out how to camo paint my rifles and shotguns. Good job on that.
Looks good. I like the leaf idea. Wish I had more around my place to use. Just have big maple leafs. Thanks for the video.
Nice looking camo job and great video!
Hella fun camoing guns! I have good luck with laying a two color base, think barber pole. Then use a couple different colors to spray over the debris.
Very nice work, looks great like from the factory!
Awesome paint job!! by far the best i've seen on youtube.
That turned out real good Cheers Tim
Thanks for this great video! Gave me a good idea of what I need to do to get my rifle ready for the woods!
Thanks for this! You've got me rethinking how I will do my rifle.
Looks good Nate! Awesome job.

AWESOME JOB !!! By far the best camo job I've seen ! I gonna try this my self on my hunting bow! ;-)
I'm guessing you were in a hurry with the clear coat 'cause squirrel season was about to open... LOL!! Nice work - turned out very nice!! Hope you had a good season. I'll send all the turkey mites, skeeters and ticks down to your neck-o-the-woods!! Great job on the rifle!!
Turned out great!!! I'm getting ready to camo my Savage .22-250... Debating on whether to do the barrel or not... This video may have just convinced me to do it...
Now I have seen a lot of camo rifle jobs on you tube BUT I must say yours is the BEST. By Far. I have a few Savages myself also Marlins - all Bolt Actions. They are the most accurate. Sincerely, JAMES.

Hey dude, Spectacular work brother!
that looks totally awsome thanks for the tutorial, excellent work pal. 👍

I was worried when you started with the lighter colors, but this turned out great. Thanks for the video. Please do a one year wear/durability video.

That looks amazing, great job man, I got a C-TAC VSR-10 Pro airsoft rifle that I'm looking to camouflage this summer along with my NCStar EURO Series 3-12x50E scope that has red illumination.. Again, great job, amazingly simplistic yet detailed tutorial! Thanks!

Nice rifle,awesome camo job
Amazing job! It looks great.
Looks great bud , I'm trying to work up the courage to do this on my savage mkII
This thing looks 3D now. Amazing paint job!
I've got a few spots, in high wear areas that are scuffed but I haven't been abusive to it either. Thanks for checking the video out.
A lot of people comment about foliage moving when sprayed in position. I found a real neat trick to stop that is to use VERY small blobs of bluetac on the back of the leaves and press them down in position before you spray. Then remove them gently before reclaiming the bluetac to reuse. The leaves or cut out shapes dont move and you can also build up ontop of the first items with a little more if you don't want to rwmove them as you go. Hope this helps! Its cheap and real easy.
Good job. I may have to try this on some of my guns.
Turned out great, nice job
looks really nice. Good job. Getting ready to move from Baltimore to the mountains of NC, so I'm gonna need to start painting all my rifles and shot guns. lol
