Steven doesn't have a great range. But he has a cool sounding voice. It is unique and one of the main things that made Ratt a little bit above the other bands of that "hair band" genre. Really great guitar work and solos, and Stevens voice. A lot of their songs still hold up today unlike the majority of that stuff.

I was fortunate enough to meet Robyn at a UFO reunion show in San Bernardino in the mid 90’s and he couldn’t have been nicer. We weren’t sure it was him, even though he was super tall, so my friends wife asked him, and sure enough the 6’6” dude in make up was Robyn Crosby. He spoke to us for a solid 10 minutes until one of MichealSchenker roadies came to get him to go back stage. He jokingly asked if I wanted to go, then left, and I think he died a couple years later. He was super handsome, and very kind, and almost nobody recognized him, which was sad. Anyhoo, my brush with fame hahaha. 😊

I'm as big a Ratt fan as there is. I saw them 3 times over the 2,3 and 4th albums. The first two times I saw them the vocals were horrible. Couldn't even make it out, just a jumble. The last time I saw them was from front row and they were amazing that night. Vocals great, don't know if it was the sound man or equipment or what but it was crazy how they sounded the first two times, like Charlie Browns teacher. But they are still going and Stephen himself will be coming to my small city to do a show in the next week or so. So he is still going so I guess he is doing something right.

I'm not a Ratt fan, but when they opened for the Scorpions when Cavazos was in the band, Pearcy could still sing as well as he ever could. He was never known as some amazing vocalist, but he sounded better than a lot of dudes from that era did by the 2010s. I gotta say, I don't know if I have even seen a singer with less stage presence,

Robbin Crosby had some great solos. I like his solo on Wanted man better than Warren's actually. Sad that he went down hill after Invasion of your privacy. As great as Warren is, Robbin gave some diversity. When they started giving Warren the Lead position, that's when Robbin went on the decline. The band at it's peak was when Warren and Robbin were a team. When they started treating Robbin like nothing more than a rhythm guitarist, I'm sure it hurt him a lot.

Robbin's death is still one of those things I shake my head in disgust over. It could've been so easily prevented had somebody close to him cared enough to intervene and show him some tough love. Like the saying goes, it's when you're at your lowest when you find out who your true friends are! Plus, with all the advanced medication that's around now, his HIV status could've been mitigated, and he'd be able to live a normal life span. As for Stephen, even in his prime, he sounded like a cat with laryngitis being strangled, but for whatever oddball reason, it fit the style of those Ratt albums.

@@cherobinson6371 That is true…you cannot tough love addition out of anyone. However, an addict must reach a point at which continuing on with the behavior hurts worse than trying to quit…the proverbial “bottom”. Everyone’s “bottom” looks different. Legal issues, losing custody of children, living on the streets, tricking for a fix, etc…but most of them do include all enablers discontinuing their enablement in one form or another…what most call “tough love”. Most addiction is actually caused by trauma. Unknown to most, trauma can alter one’s DNA. This helps make addiction so damn difficult to move past. And YES, Stephen Pearcy is a horrible singer.

Yes I will agree with you on some things. I was in that circle, King had alot of people bail on him when he was let go from RATT. He continued to spiral, his true love Tawny had already gone on, King had married Laurie and divorced. He was broken hearted, broke, when he was in that hospice home he begged so called friends to come. Yes Tawny did, Jaun, did, A few techs did. So when he passed and Tawny gave the interview about King getting out and doing that last shot, yes he went out that way....he was so embarrassed at what he had done with his life. He had it all at 1 time. Back then the medicines were no where like now. His cocktail of medications a day was so bad. He wanted freedom, happiness so he did what he did. Yes Robbin, along with Slash, Steve Wider and many more should have been like Robbins best friend the great Nikki Six and got sober and hit rehab over and over after They all watched Nikki of on Dec 23 of 87 @ The Franklin.....Everyone rmbrs, it so so well. thank god NS survived. but no people bailed on Robbin. And then acted like they were best friends. How many actually showed up for the funeral.....y'all would be amazed. RIP Orea.....you were an amazing friend, guitarest, your voice and laugh I still hear in the wind all these yrs later.....thank you for some great memories especially getting stuck in Kentucky on Thanksgiving in 84....Fly high big man I know your with your true love Tawny again

Post grunge there hasn't been any great rock groups it's all compartmentalize where you have so many different types of metal. You can't just enjoy what you like without someone talking shit. Besides The Darkness not a lot of bands really embracing those power rock chord sound from the 80s.

Stephen's voice on the studio albums was a really good fit for the sound that Beau produced. But if Beau had not hand fed a lot of the vocals to Stephen, those albums would not have become some of the greatest metal albums ever. Stephen's efforts live make me cringe. Sorry, Juan was a better singer but didn't have the right timbre to his voice that Stephen had, which made those recordings so edgy and dynamic. I like Stephen, so please don't take this personally. As for Robbin, We miss you! Rest in peace King.
