In my opinion that section of the Weber fishes much better at lower flows. That allows you to see the seams and pockets where the most fish are holding. Most cutts in the Weber are caught in the first mile or two from the mouth of the canyon. In the spring the white fish are more active and if fishing small nymphs can make up a large percentage of the catch. Like many other streams and rivers in Utah, timing and water flows can be crucial to success rates. Always nice to get out and wet a line whenever!

I've had similar experience with the flow. That section has been super discolored all summer, and fishing has been OK at best. Thanks for the comment!

I agree the Weber gets its fair share of pressure. Don't forget about the whities re: fish diversity. That river has some big 'ns! Love this series! Thanks

Awesome video! I’m new to Ogden from Texas and I’m trying to figure out this whole fly fishing thing lol. We don’t fly fish much in Texas, so it has been a learning experience to say the least. These videos are helping a lot though man! I appreciate it!

What do you consider the lower weber? Like from what area to what area. I fish the weber often and dont recognize this area! Great video

Thanks! Technically the lower Weber is anything below echo reservoir. Between rockport and echo is the middle. Then anything above rockport is the upper Weber.

Hey man! Just stumbled upon this series this afternoon, and I’ve got to say that I really like it! I’m in Oregon so I don’t really have any skin in the game 😅 however, having fished the middle Provo last spring, it is really inspiring me to go find some smaller, less pressured water the next time I visit salt lake! Tight lines 😊

there is tons of less pressured smaller streams, especially if youre willing to drive an extra hour or two from the middle provo, do some bluelining in the national forests and youll find a lot to check out!!

I’ve tried different sections of the Ogden and Weber and have yet to have luck with anything. Any advice helps. I’m not using a fly rod though. As matter of fact the Weber runs about an acre from our backyard and we have difficult shoreline acess at best.

Usually I’d be mad about people making content on these sections, but it’s been so blown out with people the last 7 years that I’ve lost interest in it completely. Less fish per mile which made the quality of fish much better but now it all has too much pressure, and fishes completely different.
