@tog hoath Hello again Tog. I am truly happy to hear the nightmare is over. It's been a terrible experience but you are out of danger now. I can imagine how scared you might have felt. I would ! Hasn't a doctor seen you personally? Why haven't you been admitted in a hospital? Here in Spain we have a very good NHS . However, public medicine has got worse in the last few years and the staff is overworked. Pls take care. Thank you for sharing your experience. Sinterklaas, also known as Saint Nicholas, a Greek bishop of Myra in present-day Turkey, is dear to the hearts of Dutch children. He can be recognized by his eye-catching red cape with red miter and his long white beard. He arrives each year in mid-November on a steam boat filled with gifts and together with his helpers, all referred to as 'Piet"(Peter). The feast of Sinterklaas is on 6 December. Merry Christmas everyone.

Most people in UK call him Father Christmas..his image is strongly based on the pagan..Green Man..traditionally wore green robes. 😃👍

Thank you - we normally spend a day back in London over Christmas, wandering around, taking in the atmosphere, having a meal, seeing a show - not happening this year so thanks for the 'virtual' Christmas visit it was great!

We were 7 people from 5 households for Christmas Eve in central NJ. We all agreed if it were our last Christmas we had a GREAT time!

Oh my- It's all so lovely! Here in Germany it's doom and gloom and if you so much as smile, you'll be fined. They literally say work is okay, but fun is a no-go. It is like a ghost-town everywhere. Lockdowns don't work and suck! Some townspeople even worked so hard to have a 'drive-thru' Christmas- literally no different from McDonald's, but the ba humbug Germans have made them close down too. So wish we were in London for Christmas (or anywhere at this point)! Merry Christmas!

Marvellous. I grew up as a child in England and I showed my family this. Have to say England does Christmas really well.

Love this video. Really makes me miss London. I am big fan of Victorian era English history. Once us Yanks are welcome back across the pond, I will return! I have to explore Dickens' Pub for a proper pint ! Brilliant !

A year ago I was in the same locations, seeing them again brought good memories in mind. Greetings from the Santa's home country.

I've come to realize Joolz's videos would make for a great drinking game. You can even do this remotely with your friends - just all get on Zoom or something and start up a Joolz video at the same time. Take a drink whenever Joolz... Makes a Monty Python reference. Makes an Indiana Jones reference. Says something does/does not smell like urine. Tells a story about his mom. Shows a picture of himself from his youth. Is recognized by a fan. Films a dog (not just a dog in the background, but the camera actually focused on a dog). Recites Shakespeare. I'm sure others could add some more items to the list. Then finish off the round with everyone taking a sip as Joolz takes his in the pub at the end of a video! :)

We have a 144-YEAR-OLD red pillar post box in Bassendean, Western Australia The box which was similar to the hexagonal Penfold design found in Great Britain in the 1850s was constructed in 1876 and is located on the corner of Surrey Street and North Road in Bassendean. This design was a standard issue in WA up until the Commonwealth took control of the postal system following the Federation in 1901. It is the only cast iron pillar-type post box left in Bassendean and one of only a few left in the state.

Here I am in late June 2021 rewatching all of Joolz videos for the 5th time around! lol 👍🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧 Hey don’t judge me lol. There are lots of worse things I could be doing instead of driving up the view count on Joolz videos lol I encourage everyone to share his videos with as many people as you can. Lets see if we can get his subscribers up to a million before the lockdowns are completely done. WOOHOO!!! Come on people! We can do it! I would take the 'history' with a pinch of salt, as sometimes he seems to make it up as he goes along ,and is frequently Totally Wrong, but he is Fun.

A lovely, jolly video. Puts a smile on your face. Wouldn't it have been nice if a few more KZreadrs had done something similar, linked up with Joolz, and together produced a programme of Christmassy videos, walk-rounds, and traditional songs from around the world? It's a bit late to produce and edit something like that now, and I guess some places might be in tight lockdowns like London too, but it would have given a sense of global community to many that are going to have a rather strange and lonely Christmas this year.

According to food historian Annie Gray (who works with English Heritage on the Mrs Crocombe video series), "figgy pudding" is the same as "plum pudding" - and when plum or figgy pudding is served on Christmas, it's "Christmas pudding." And a "plum" was known as any sort of dried fruit, which is why plum pudding vary rarely (if ever) has any actual plums in it. Very merry and happy Christmas blessings to you and yours!

@@Raky2427 From some casual reading, it appears that Saint Nicholas was Greek and the town where he spent much of his life and died (343AD), Myra, was then in a Roman province of Lycia with significant Greek population. The population of Myra seems to have been significantly Greek even under the ottomans, until a population exchange was made in 1923. So, no link to the turks at all.
