    Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart v1.727.0.0 Hotfix Patch Notes Resolved visual issues with characters occurring on certain GPUs, including AMD Vega based models. Improved the visual quality of vegetation in ray-traced shadows and ray-traced reflections. Implemented a fix to make the Texture Filtering option work as intended.

    While it would still ruin the pacing of the scenes with the change in dimensions, they could make it so he continues falling until the level loads. Basically making this hidden loading screen adjustable in its length

    Experimenting with creative loading solutions is actually really, really fun + effective. It depends of course on the scope of your game [how much resources it hoards] but most games now can easily be 100% devoid of loading screens with a little ingenuity. For example in Skyrim: load the player's immediate environment in the main menu, if the player is afk load the proximity locations, make a visual transition when entering a cave to mask a load event, load lower res textures first to expedite loading, largely imperceptible, etc.

    They were comparing PS4 and PS5 regarding the instant loading rift jumping segments. I've seen tons of comments stating "Sony lied!" because the game doesn't instantly crash without Sony's fast SSD. It is a compromised experience if you have to sit and wait for noticeable loading right in the middle of an action sequence. You can play it that way, but I wouldn't want to.

    ‪Great job on the Direct Comparison. Man, this is why I would love to see you cover Ratchet & Clank in a future documentary one day, because i think it is a great idea if you take a look at Insomniac Games story following other PlayStation Studios you covered in your previous documentaries like Naughty Dog & Santa Monica Studio‬. This what I would like to suggest but I know it’s going to be a long time before you can do that because since you have other ideas for future documentaries, but I can’t wait to see what you have planned for your future documentaries. I can’t wait to see what you have next for gaming in the future.

    When you do get it I recommend getting a PS5 controller as the game is also an exceptional showcase of the controller's features, notably the haptic vibrations and triggers which honestly add alot to the experience to the point I'd say it's worth getting it for this game and any future PS PC ports. The PS5 controller works with PCs out of the box and are supported by the game natively or via Steam Inputs. The only catch is it must be used via wired cable. The good news is the cable is a standard USB to Type C connection that most smartphone chargers use.

    @@justifythewinner It's the main reason I got my PS5 (both the controller and Rift Apart). Given the PlayStation ports going forward are PS5 games you'll get some use out of the controller for those. It's ultimately subjective but if I didn't have a PS5 I'd at least have the controller for my PC. It's one those "you don't realise how a difference a feature makes until you use it" things. I thought haptic vibrations and triggers was a gimmick but the vibrations are very granular to the point it can make it feel like a wave of water is follow through the controller and the triggers can have differing resistances for effects like resisting at the half-pull so you can hold a chargeshot before fully pulling for the shot itself or adding micro-resistances as you fire an automatic gatling gun to mimic some of recoil felt through the trigger. It's also just a great alternative to an Xbox controller for games that don't use the PlayStation specific features.

The games loads best with NVMe 1.3 or NVMe 1.4 drives (with over 3000 MB/s read speeds) You may also check with the Xbox Game Bar that Microsoft DirectStorage is supported on your system (it should according to your specs) With a good NVMe SSD, there should be no "hanging in the air loading" issue :)

The fact that PC gamers who don't have a PS5 can enjoy this game is something that I hope breathes even more support into the already amazing series. Maybe it's been improved over time, but your loading times within rifts amaze me. I ran the game on an i5 4460 with 16GB RAM and GTX 1660, off a RAID 0 array of spinning 2TB 7200 RPM drives and a small SSD cache that caches small reads (that's where the harddrives struggle) and it's about as smooth as on the PS5 in this video. Most of the settings (no RTX card) are maxed out, iirc I just had the textures set to high to prevent running out of VRAM which caused insane framedrops whenever that occurred.

If I want some extra frames I can always turn on Frame Generation but there is no need. Definitely doing the 100% on PC again now, thats for sure. It looks and plays so much better than on PS5. Ofcourse it looks comparable if the most you get is the option to let the game look the same as it looks on the PS5. If they went out of their way to add even more enhanced graphics settings for high-end PC's the story would be way different. Look at games like Cyberpunk 2077 for instance. Maxed out path tracing on an RTX 4090 blows the PS5 version of the game out of the water. They could've just made how it looks on the PS5 "max" settings for PC and people like you would be placing that exact comment. In reality this game runs 100+ FPS on a RTX 4090 which means the RTX 4090 could've handled way better looking graphics settings than the PS5 ever could.

  • @DBTHEPLUG

    @DBTHEPLUG

    10 ай бұрын

    And sir, ofcourse it looks better on the PS5 if the PC version is bugged. I would like to see a PS5 side by side of CP2077 path tracing with any RTX 40 series pc. 100+ FPS on one side while 1 FPS on the other. But somehow everything's so comparable now. Soon you'll be enjoying ultra realistic unreal engine 5 games on sub 30 fps, 1440p on a PS5, while the PS5 Pro (you'll have to purchase) can run it natively on 4K 30 FPS.

    The loading times and textures are an issue with PC in general. I THINK the reason is the PC version can't optimize for all the different possible hardware combinations and will have to spend time compiling shaders and textures on new environment load the first time. Consoles dont have this issue since it's computed once... By the devs... On almost identical hardware as the end user. This is currently the biggest advantage consoles have over PC.
