Rat-L-Traps under corks catch fish!

Спорт

Rat-L-Traps are quite possibly the most popular fishing lures in the history of North America. They produce in both fresh and salt water, and nearly every angler's tackle box has at least a few in it.
Most anglers fish these lures tied directly to their main lines or leaders, but in Texas, some fishermen are having success, particularly with redfish, throwing 'Traps under corks.
In order to see if the technique works on South Louisiana's marshes, my son Joel and I put it to the test. Check out the video for all the details.

Great retrievals. My wife and I fish on our days off of work. She tends to retrieve straight without working it. She watched this video and said to me "oh, I get it now". Thanks!

The correct way to fish a trap under a cork is a slip cork backwards and just reel it in. Purpose for that style is to keep it out the grass and shell.

I never what have thought of using a cork with a rattle trap. Genius! Now I can fish a certain level of the water column consistently. I always like to use the blue and silver one in the marsh. I always have a ton of good catches with that one.

I saw those guys using this trap and popping corks setup in a redfish tournament recently... was pretty interesting, I'm used to chucking and winding it for bass... good video! 🤙

This maybe a dumb question. But, where do you fish. That you catch bass and specks in the same area. Begin one is freshwater and one is salted. Not asking for a spot. Just an area.
