The update: you can now see what you shoot. tbh that's my main issue with sidearms, wish they did the same with all others but then we'd be in a sidearm meta all because you can now see what you're shootin' at

This is exactly how all sidearms should recoil. They did this for Hand Canons in Witch Queen and SMGs much later. Sure, the range buff sidearms received was great; so great that bungie halved this buff; but the recoil and bounce should be addressed. I can’t use any sidearms other than rat king without only seeing my barrel above their head, resulting in me needing to aim at their waist or chest. Please bungie

Oddly enough it's an FOV-related problem. At lower (previously console standard) FOVs, the model takes up less of the screen and doesn't block the reticle.

Glad to see your also working on Mahees, sleeper hand cannon.

I like it on close range maps on my invis hunter. But I always choose my Lonesome with RH/KC. Cooks on any map ❤ but thanks for the review homie

The rat king and the armor that gives you two dodges and the ability that says every time you dodge you reload your weapon. Does great. It helps you to invisible alittle faster..

if I can surmise, most lightweight primaries hadn't existed before or were only found on blue weapons. Recently we got The Riposte which is a lightweight AR, an archetype that had not existed before until after Final Shape. Just like Rose, it is special and probably only found in comp.

@@4zureSapphirethis just doesn’t apply… Rose and Riposte are special in that Autos and HCs didn’t have a legendary with that bonus at the time of their introduction. It’s meant to set them apart. Sidearms have had a lightweight frame (360 RPM) since their introduction. The OP wants a new kinetic slot one since the only gun of that archetype we’ve gotten since which queen has been Heliocentric. Farewell and Spoiler Alert are 2 great lightweight sidearms in the kinetic slot.

Could I encourage people to get turned on to a bumper jumper customized setup? On a standard controller you can aim fire chuck grenades jump slide sprint without ever letting go of the thumb sticks. All your other actions are a finger reach away on the face buttons. If you custom map your dpad a little bit which I've not even bothered utilizing yet you can put your pointer on movement duty while accessing several key functions with your thumb. It takes getting used to but once you do you'll hate having it mapped any other way.

getting a controller with back buttons/paddles is much easier and not super expensive. you can find cheap controllers at gamestop with back buttons.

@@FAUXCUSpd i do want a better controller though, I'm about 3 button mappings shy of never breaking contact with thumb sticks for any reason, like 4 little extra back paddles would be incredible and I know they make controllers like that

I noticed a BIG difference in this sidearm in the new season, but couldn't think what? Love using this with my ratpack pvp buds, even though I'm crap 😂😂😂

Fully automatic causes bloom which is why this hits less heads. If you pace your shots with trigger pulls as you mention rather than holding you can hit more heads for sure. I only have like 2k kills in crucible on mine but still I’d definitely say that’s the problem you’re referencing.

Back in year one this gun also used to be semi-auto, it never was meant for full auto unless using the pack gimmick. When travelers chosen got turned full auto I dropped it too until it was reverted. Devils ruin ironically stayed goated due to clean sights, built in zen moment, and being extremely reliable tap firing and laser.

Only thing I can think of is that full auto has an accuracy cone penalty, kind of like Forerunner. Tapping the trigger keeps the cone nice and tight for rapid headshots--that's my theory anyway

It came in quite useful in legendary solo campaign.

Just watching the gameplay it looks like it has more recoil now. I never had a problem 4 tapping people but I haven’t used it this update

It’s an adaptive sidearm at base. It was semi auto if you didn’t have the perk active until somewhat recently. People thought the RoF change was too jarring. That’s why it deals the exact same numbers as Drang and has the same exact fire rate. It was an adaptive Sidearm with built in full auto. Now with TFS, it’s got the firing animation of a Rapid Fire Frame so you can actually see what you’re shooting at when using it with other people. A consequence of this is better recoil in PvP, but likely stronger bloom.

I miss the old recoil animation. I could consistently get headshots with it but I can’t with this new one. I wish they’d put it back

Rat king has been my favorite sidearm for a long time, but heliocentric still exists and is still very good.

I'll try it out but having to put down Forerunner is gonna hurt

I like Rat King because of its powerful exotic perks. I think if it was a good dueler it would be way too good. Invis and health regen is a bonkers strong combo and has a lot of class and exotic armor synergy.

I have the gun, but need the catalyst. I hope Xur sells the catalyst soon!

It’s a laser now almost zero recoil, but I can’t get j to it still somehow

pc player here- its zero to 100 on MnK. my pc group have all decided its the very first sidearm that is perfect on MnK. i am a meager 1.0 player and i can extremely regularly hit 4 heads, and i never did that one single time on any sidearm before the rat king recoil change.

rat king is one of those weapons that’s so good that it’s kind of boring to use because you just roll basically everyone you see

I’m coming up on 20k PvP kills with rat king. I think it’s worth using.

@@HAVARMS well traveler's choosen gives abilities by alot. i dont really enjoy invis since radar nerf.

I'll stick with my buzzard and allied demand. They just hit crits better. Plus swash makes it a 3 crit terror

I used it after watching dfp ise it in a video but i still didnt like it

In all honesty I prefer the old shooting animation for the rat king but the new one is alright

i just wish Sidearms felt as comfortable to use on Mnk as they did on roller :(

There are some that do. I highly recommend trying High Albedo with headseeker, lonesome with zen moment, or any other burst that has tap the trigger

2 things need to be said here. 1. We didnt get better. Bungie allowed to triple stack enhanced targeting mods and that is the "skill" difference. You used to at MAX have 1 enhanced targeting mod and more likely you had a single normal targeting mod. 2. You can still just body spam ppl with sidearms for easy kills.

I wish they'd do this to Sunshot because it's recoil is ridiculous.

Jokes aside, glad to see the rat king lives on best as a group used weapon - stacking weapons like this or malfeasance makes for fun silliness in crucible to break up the regular meta!

Personally I like to pair Rat King with Graviton Forfeit. Match made in heaven if you ask me

The difference is that now you can just use it effectively solo without the rest of the team having to also use it.

6:32 You hold the controller like a sped kid's first game. No, it's not easier to hit shots when "your pointer finger in on the THUMBSTICKS" Maybe just hold your controller firmly? How hard are you TAPPING your fuckin trigger, TAP!? You've literally not given an example of why this is better just fucked up and worse. The "best" way is pointer on R/L1, middle on R/L2, THUMBS ON THUMB STICKS (that's the important one) "Yah I play M+K w my feet, it's just way better for aiming. Gives me more leverage"

I lost my right thumb in a horrific foreplay incident. I kid. I totally brainfarted and misspoke on that section. Thumb on stick, pointer on reload/jump/crouch/swap, middle finger on the trigger.
