Raspberry Pi 3 Amazon Echo - The Alexa Kids Build!

Музыка

My 7 year old daughter and I decided to play around with the Raspberry Pi and build ourselves an Amazon Echo (Alexa). The video tells you about what we did and the links below will take you to all the sites we used to get this up and running.
She did all the programming following the instructions on the Amazon Github repository. This is a great site to get started on putting AVS on the Raspberry Pi. It not only has all the instructions, but also lets you know all the components you will need to get this up and running.
I came by afterwards and redid the setup using NovaSpirit's easier install-able instructions after I fried the SD card incorrectly hooking up the jumpers to the button. I didn't want her to have to start over again, so I let her know what I did and that I was going to fix it so we were back to the part of hooking up a button.

Project: Raspberry Pi + Alexa Voice Service
This link has the information to get Amazon Voice Service working on the Raspberry Pi with a Java client to launch and test/use the service. It is very detailed and has a fair amount of typing you need to do. Still simple enough for a novice or kid to follow.

This is a fairly simple setup that you use to get your Raspberry Pi Alexa up and running using a physical button. It's an install-able package so there is a lot less typing in this one. You can get it up and running in about 10 minutes.

She wants to code up a few games, but also wanted to give this robot a try:
