Was watching this game live and I couldn’t believe what I was watching. Pacers were crushing the Pistons, that smoke from the previous year’s ECF carried over and it felt like Indy was making a big statement that this was gonna be their year and their time. Unfortunate situation all-around and the Pacers definitely never recovered. Reggie’s best chance at getting the ring was that season.

I remember watching this and I remember Big Ben had recently lost his brother to violence I believe. Attest was an aggressive defender plus the conference rivalry and that’s how it started. But the issues with Ben and Artest was really settled before it got real bad. It was the fans on bs and the players were already hyped from the initial scuffle.

Exactly. The situation between Ron Artest And Ben Wallace was calming down. If that idiot hadn't thrown the beer, everything would have been fine. Also, most people in their right mind would not want to tangle with Ben Wallace, but I don't think Ron Artest was afraid of him. He's not exactly a 90 pound weakling. He was one of the strongest guys in the league. I just think he wanted to deescalate the situation, rather than getting into a fight.
