Old guy here. I watched Perna on an earlier podcast and he was just miserable! Whining about the uniforms, not the throwbacks, but the new ones. But the Zack Wilson almost had him in tears. It was great! On the topic of Tyreek, I think he just hasnt gotten over the fact that the chiefs couldn’t afford him, they moved on, and have won 2 SBs without him. He is the one that hasn’t moved on. That highlight of Sneed knocking his azz to the ground, then pushing him down again after Reek’s feeble attempt to get up, is so hilarious it never gets old. It pretty much sums up the effort the dolphins put into that game. Haha.

what can you do with $70 million that you can't do with $58 million. That was the guaranteed money offer from Miami and KC, respectively. Hill chose year round sun and the bag over rings and a legendary legacy. He has no right to complain someone else is wearing his number. Had he stayed in KC it would have likely been retired. A handful of years ain’t it no matter how good you are.

I remember being hyped for POP to join! -“Ain’t scared to take a grown man’s job!” I took a step back to gage how I felt about it… I still root for Hill as long as he isn’t facing KC! I feel his number is still being respected by a stand up dude that leaves it ALL on the field!

Exactly.... to me, Hill, it's not afraid to express his feelings and a lot of times, he's just trolling too. Hill is passionate & transparent. He did a lot for the Chiefs in his time here. It may never be matched.

Rice should be in jail, the fact that people still want him in the team because "he is a good receiver' blows my mind. (I am a die hard KC fan BTW). How can the team endorse this kind of reckless behavior. What if a child was killed in the accident? What then? Do we need dead people to be properly outraged?

It's crazy because he is high profile they are trying to get 10mil. Had a friend here in Colo get rear-ended by a drunk driver. Lawyer got a max medical claim from the insurance of 120k. Rice is far from a high paid NFL star.

I love Tyreak, I wished that he had stayed and picked up extra money in commercials and movies. However ,I'm sure glad that Pacheco is living up to the number 10.

We can't afford Justin Jefferson. We'd be better off drafting a couple WRs this year and hoping one of them works out. Especially considering Kelce is probably going to retire within the next three years. The only guy we're going to have around by then is RIce. We need to get some young WRs in the building that will be with the team for a while. If Brown has a good year this year he's probably gone. Maybe the Chiefs will be able to keep him, but he might become to expensive.

With the draft picks it would take to get him, it’d probably be cheaper overall to just give up all our picks & move up to grab Marvin jr, or Nabers. I don’t think there’s any way the chiefs could (or would want to) afford the 30 million for Jefferson.

I was thinking 4-6, but I wouldn’t be surprised if your guess turns out to be correct.

Tyreek has talked about his regrets and how it is hard to watch the chiefs in the Super Bowl again, and again without him. I guess a few million extra wasn't all that mattered. Can say big grats to him for getting an earned payday, nothing wrong with that at all! But so much money already... maybe legacy and staying with who started you and gave you the chance when others didn't want to try you out even, is worth a few million? Maybe Tyreek could come back some day and contribute to the chiefs and everyone gets another ring with him before his career is over? I like how Hill did show some love for Pacheco, but man... can't expect your number to be retired after just a few years with Chiefs? Maybe if he had stayed 1 contract longer for sure. Ohh.. and Rice... let us just see what happens. I hope he gets what the law says/considers fair and just... not just a slap on the wrist, but not so harsh to ruin a life. I also think he needs to be let the chance to keep working. Let him be suspended some games, let him pay off those that will sue him. He will learn a great lesson about thinking and personal responsibility mattering. Luckily no one was seriously injured in all of it, so it calls for some degree of forgiveness and mercy from the law... I think Texas usually does a good job with that type of thing. Could have been so much worse for everyone.

Rice must completely satisfy his criminal obligations before the suspension begins. He is going to have major problems with his criminal case. I was a career DA. Jail time coming I am afraid.

I think it depends on whether he gets prison time and how long that will be. If needed, the Chiefs and the League will supplement the criminal justice system's penalty in order to make it seem fair from the general public's perspective. So no prison time -> 8-game suspension. 30 days in the slammer -> 4-game suspension.

I think in this case either sounds fair... a little time and smaller punishment from NFL fines yeah. As would be more mercy, no time, fines paid, settling with people who sue him, given another chance to work, after some time off to think from the NFL. Hitting the pocket book deeply tends to make people grow up and learn fast.

Not sure why you seem to think Rice won't get a long suspension. He hurt people in an accident and then walked away leaving them there. I bleed Chiefs red, but Rice deserves a long suspension and I hope he gets one. In fact, I wouldn't be disappointed to see the Chiefs move on from him entirely.

Dude it’s all about choices and evidently Rice chose wrong.. You know I love the Chiefs but I do not feel bad for Rice getting what he deserves.. he is lucky no one was killed let alone him self.. Hopefully this will make him realize that what he did, not only effects him but the Chiefs the people he injured😑 I say he deserves the highest punishment he can get.. The difference between me getting pulled over and what Rice did is I would take responsibility for what I did right then and there and not walk away then turn my self in after causing injuries to others and walking away..

Every case is different. The NFL usually waits until the legal proceedings are finished though.

Runor has it the Broncos will give Zach Russ’ old number to repurpose the Jersey. Rice’s suspension should be a minimum of 6-8 games.

I don't know why it makes me smile to think of Mahomes ripping everyone a new one, in his voice.

I don't know how all this is decided by NFL...seems to me should be after criminal court case decided...felony or misdemeanor...What are prior decisions on suspensions in these cases in past..😮 .. But conviction of whatever in court case, then look back to precedents they've set. NFL has to understand if they don't already must be consistent in punishing. But I'd be grabbing a replacement ( or maybe turns out a backup gets a year seasoning) Innocent till proven guilty...

So a report came out the wreck was caused by KNOX not Rice. Knox turned into the back of the lambo causing all the collisions. Wonder how that will affect things. But I can guarantee u Rice doesnt get more than 4 games. Might get 6 but it would then get reduced to 4.

6 appealed to 4 is what I was thinking too. Maximum of 8 at most. It doesn't really matter who caused the accident. NFL wants to protect their image. All NFL players signed the player conduct policy, which Rice has violated and will be punished accordingly. Hopefully he'll learn from this going forward and it won't be a problem again. Similar reason that SMU has suspended Knox from their program--to protect the university's image.

Just wonder if it can affect if u can get convicted with "collision causing injury" if someone else caused them. They charged both Rice & Knox with it all (he would still guilty of speeding/reckless driving/Failure to Render Aide.... but that's just ONE felony to plea down). But as far as the NFL there's precedent with Aldrick Rosas the NFLPA can use. They really care about previous offenses & also if ur taking responsibility & showing remorse & change .... well Rosas - - had previous DUIs to the point he didn't even have a license when he did this lol - was drinking - ran a red light & tboned someone at 100+ MPH - fled the scene He got 4 games. For suspensions longer than 5 games the NFL mainly looks for- 1) did anyone die or have life threatening injuries 2) was their abuse of a woman or child with MALICE intent 3) is a repeat offender 4) gambled on the NFL which can compromise the entire league Said 2-4 games from the start & think 3 or 4 games is my best educated guess with all the info collected. First offense DUI is 2 games.... while 1st offense Domestic Violence is 4 games.

I think 6 games minimum for Rashee.... I was betting possibly the whole season. Tyreek forgets Trent Green and President Pete Stoyanovich.

That's what I've been saying and people have been like, "nahh it won't be that long." The guys has been charged with 8 felonies. Does that mean he'll convicted of 8 felonies? No, probably not. However, it's doesn't matter to the NFL what the final felony count it. The NFL is going to base their decision on his conduct. He may even be handed his suspension before the court cases are complete. It's going to be six to 10 games at least.

The charges have no affect on what the NFL will do suspension wise. The NFL does not want to start suspending every player for traffic accidents.

This is a lot more than a traffic basic traffic accident and he ran from the scene on top of it. He's going to see a significant suspension for player conduct violations.

I know that most people don't say these things definitively as if they work for the NFL, or where these "max" number come from, but I genuinely think it'll be 6-8 games, maybe even more. But to me, there isn't a "max" number in the form of speculation. The NFL seems to come down harder on Chiefs players, and his actions were on full display on video, for the whole world to see. I think more than 8 is pretty unlikely, but not out of the realm of possibility. Of course, I don't have any idea what'll actually happen, since Alvin Kamara got 3 games for putting a guy in the hospital with a $100k+ medical bill, and Willie Gay got 4 games for breaking his own vacuum cleaner in an argument with his girlfriend lol. I think the NFL might also consider the fact that he'll need those game checks for the restitution payments for the victims. Weird catch 22.

KC doesn't have a WR at #27. Chamarri Conner is #27 but he is a Safety. The most recent #27 on Offense was Kareem Hunt but he left like 5-6 years ago. Numbers 19 & 24 are still on rookie deals so their salaries stay the same whether we use them or cut them

I’m thinking Burrow threw a 4th quarter pick against Chiefs in AFCCG year we beat Philly in SB but maybe that film footage was fake news 🤷‍♂️

Sounds a tad bit hypocritical. None of us follow all the laws of the land😂. Remember we kicked Kareem Hunt when he showed restraint when kicking that young lady. Everyone was asking for his career which was very stupid. I wish we would have never cut Kareem but to be fair he did lie to the team

Yes, the Chiefs will trade away their next few 1st round picks and pay Justin Jefferson with the $13 they have in cap space. Justin, arguably the best receiver in the league, will definitely feel good about taking the pennies the Chiefs could offer him. Tyreek knows how to get attention. I know giving 10 away immediately probably hurt a bit, but I don't think Tyreek expected it to be retired after leaving for the check either. He will always be one of the best Chiefs receivers. As for the Draft, Chiefs are moving up and snagging Harrison or Nabers.

Ben was a decent quarterback in the XFL. Not a terrible backup.

In fact anytime Barry brings up Joe Burrow not leading any game winning drives the amount of salty Bengals fans are hilarious. They all seem to travel in a pack too and whenever he criticizes their lord and savior Joe Burrow you can just hear them foaming at the mouth. It's downright comical 😂😂

With civil litigation coming down the pike, Rice needs to plead for work and a minimal suspension so he can pay. With Tyreek, McDaniel needs to leave money out of the discussion. This kind of comment can very easily be taken as a threat. The talk may not have been as serious as that at the time but it's bad JUJU anyway.

I'm afraid Rashee Rice is gonna spend some time in jail in Dallas County. Which, as he should know quite well from having lived there while attending SMU, Dallas County Jail is no place you'd ever want to be. His sentence will be measured in months or years, not weeks. Zach Wilson is a former 1st round pick, and because they’re still paying the other Wilson a brinks truck full of money, all they can do is pray that this Wilson pans out better.
