The story I heard about that note was that someone who found the note offered it for sale. And supposedly Wayne Newton bought it. But we don’t know if that’s true or not. What I like about your videos is that you are sincere about telling Elvis’ stories. You don’t sensationalize things to get more views. You are very respectful of Elvis and come across as a true fan. Thank you for that. 👏👏🥰

When you heard about Wayne Newton buying that note, did you also hear that he bought it so he could burn it? He was a good friend of Elvis and didn't want that to tarnish EP's reputation. That's how I heard about it. I have no evidence of that, so I can neither confirm nor deny it.

Elvis was young to us, I just turned 42 in January, and I’m just a regular guy, there is part of me that thinks my youth is gone, and I’m old. It’s not really true, but I have to fight that at times. I can imagine the issues Elvis had with this, he was the first rock star, back then 41 was reaching an age that no other rockers had reached, he was the oldest. Fast forward to today where rockstars are 55-75, and 41 is really young

David, I really like this format. There's always a story with a picture. I think providing a story to those pictures resonates with so many Elvis fans, because we ARE interested in the man, not just the image. I do believe you can provide those stories in a straightforward and honest way. That is why I like your channel. Some of the people in his life were takers, without giving back. I believe true fans, like us, take him as he is and want the truth. Keep up the great work! Blessings!

I've seen the letter he wrote it was on Hilton stationary and it looked Iike it had been crumbled up.aparently found by a maid in the trash it was pretty Sad He was talking to God Elvis became a virtual prisoner at a very young age over night and was never able to live a normal life since he gave so much and took care of so many people that even if he wanted to the responsibilities on his shoulders wouldn't allow him.to take a much needed break I can see him.saying he was tired and lonley but anyway the note got into the hands of Wayne Newton he paid for it and he wrote a song

I appreciate you pointing out and discussing little nuances that I often miss in pictures. As for the note, I've heard about that before. I have to be honest. I can believe that Elvis would write such a note and throw it away. It's a way of "journaling" because writing things to get them off one's chest is good therapy for improving mental health. *Disclaimer: I am not "diagnosing" Elvis with depression. I am not the least bit qualified. But I am giving my opinion that it would not surprise me. My opinion ONLY.

To the younger folks who weren't born or too young to remember Elvis, when he was still alive at this time in the mid-late 1970's. What "SURPRISED" me the most, was everyone saying ELVIS is washed up and nobody wanted to listen to him sing. These SAME PEOPLE did an about face, after he died and were saying OHHH ELVIS was the *GREATEST, OHH ELVIS we are SO SAD, OHH ELVIS we LOVED YOU! CRYING and WEEPING - "Hypocrites" That has stuck with me all these years! My mother bought my brother Mike a cassette tape of Elvis's Greatest hits, just before he died and we would listen to his songs and JUST LOVED LISTENING to Elvis as young teenagers. While EVERYONE was making FUN of Elvis and saying he was WASHED UP! We were adoring him and his SUPER GREAT SONGS! I remember his song Moody Blue playing on the radio just before he died.

I was teenaged else fan in the mid 70s and he was most definitely not "washed up" as a performer and artist. He was not part of the rock scene at that time and I'm pretty sure he had no desire to be. His audience was aging, but he still pulled in some us younger folks who recognized the talent he always was. Just because his days of groundbreaking music were behind him didn't mean he had nothing great to offer. Yes, he did need to get healthy and update his live show or have a specific goal he wanted to reach for. He did not dominate the hot 100 but many if his 70s singles received a lot of airplay on the country stations. Even in 77 both Moody Blue and Way Down were country hits prior to his passing, even here in the northeast.

@isRecordCollector-qp4jt - *correct! I was 14 years old when he died. My Mom's older brother Raymond Carpenter died shortly after Elvis did. Raymond was born crippled and never walked and he was about Elvis's age. Raymond died died 2 months later in 1977. Raymond dragged himself on his knees. It was the SADNESS period of our lives. I thought Elvis was the *GREATEST! I didn't think anything but how *GREAT he was! I didn't know he had health issues. He was always there and always singing & entertaining. I do remember a lot of people criticizing him, saying he was washed up and didn't want to listen to his music anymore................Then when he died, these same people - PRAISING HIM and CRYING and OH ELVIS WE LOVED YOU!!! I thought - WHAT? You bunch of hypocrites! He was on a jello diet and playing tennis with Red West and so he was trying to get better. This notion that he just didn't care anymore and gave up on life is SO WRONG! The *TRUTH needs to be know!

Many fans, me very much included, don’t have an opportunity to talk about Elvis in such an in-depth way - it’s very rare to find someone to talk to who’s as interested. Your videos feel almost as if we’re having a conversation about Elvis, that only real fans who love the man can understand. I love “talking” to you about him. It’s the only chance I get to share a part of my life that’s really important to me. So yes, I love your video. Thank you so much for the love and work you put into getting these on KZread. A picture is worth a thousand words. Love to hear the story and there's so many great ones about Elvis. Just check small details. Gellar said he used mascara to touch up a few gray hairs while he lay in state. He would've only looked better with salt & pepper 😮 He was so ill in those last years but he loved his fans so much that he kept performing. His dad had silver and he was very handsome in person. He wasn't even fat- he still had a pretty slim waist if you see from the back. He was swollen from illnesses and exhaustion. His big, beautiful ❤ gave out but thanks to people like you he will forever be missed & loved. I'm so happy that this generation has discovered Elvis all over again. Thank you ❤❤❤

I’m writing this from memory so you will have to research a bit to see if I’m remembering correctly. If you search KZread for Wayne Newton performs the letter, he talks a bit before singing it.

I kind of think Elvis knew the end of his life was near. Not sure why I feel this, I just do. Maybe it was the things he did at the Indy concert in August. The way he introduced everyone including his father. And he didn't say at the end he'd be back just "Adios, until we meet again." And I've heard that Larry Gellar said he touched up Elvis's sideburns, but that wasn't really true. And lastly, I can't see Elvis leaving a note like that. I mean, maybe he did at a moment when he was about to fall asleep, but I don't believe he "journaled".

I like both styles of videos, but this type, more so. What I mostly like about your videos is the information you give about Elvis. Some of us may never be able to read the books you have and other information you have gathered. I may be skeptical about some things, but it's still interesting.

This is the time I would of loved to of talked to him ,I remember the note way back then I seen pictures of the note blown up it was determined to be his hand writing a maid pulled it out of the trash before the few people around him at that time could of they weren't dedicated.Wayne Newton ended up buying the note after authenticity was confirmed and Wayne Newton made it in a sort of Song Recorded it and also sung it on the tonight show and other shows at the time . I always Identified with Elvis his highs and lows especially the lows I still do I would liked to of talked to him in the last year of his life !

I read that he either didn't wear his rings or taped his fingers to avoid injury to them when fans clutched at his hands. His give away rings also weren't sized for his fingers, which was another reason for the taping of them.✌☮

I liked it because I had time to examine the picture and see the details. One I saw was the shape of his palm, how it indented at the base of the ring finger. Also, the arthritis in the joints. And best of all, there was Joe...loyal to the end and beyond. I think you should do more. We remember you, Elvis, and we love you...still. (Judy C)

I get the feel of real time of closing in your voice of his life and it is very poignant,it’s really beautiful the narration and the feel. Think you’ve tapped into a hidden talent, you have a great voice and the feel is really there. It feels very sincere,I believe you were. Thank you for it,it really pulled me in. It really reminds me of and should all of us,how important this time in Elvis life. No rudder seemingly,no strong anchor, not really knowing where or what to do next. He was alone in this. Yes there were people around him,yes and he kept a good chin up, but still feeling alone. Well done friend. Once again thanks for producing something great,I still feel stuck in the moment thinking of him and what was made by you in the show tonight.
