RARE ORCA HUNT in Bremer Bay, Western Australia | Camping Offgrid in the South West [EP45]

#orca #westernaustralia #travel
Our most crazy animal encounter ever takes place in this episode but first, we find some offgrid camps along the South West Coast, starting at Starvation Bay. After a few days spent enjoying the calm turquoise bay in front of camp, an epic sunset spot and even a trip to the rabbit proof fence, we moved along to our next camp: Four Mile Beach in the Fitzgerald River National Park.
This camp was beautiful but unfortunately the weather didn’t play ball. Lucky we had just enough sun to squeeze in a dive and a hike to the top of East Mount Barren.
Then we finally hit Bremer Bay and while there were many beautiful beaches around the area, our main reason for visiting was to go on the killer whale tour with Whale Watch Western Australia. Not only did we see multiple family pods (around 70 killer whales) up close in their natural habitat, we also witnessed them hunt and kill a strap-toothed beaked whale. What made the hunt extra rare was the interference of over 100 pilot whales who charged in attempting to stop the orca and save the beaked whale. Watching this all unfold was truly one of the most unbelievable moments we will remember for the rest of our lives.
We hope you enjoyed watching this episode and thanks so much for the support and kindness on our videos! We're on the trip of a lifetime as we travel Australia full-time so subscribe now to see the whole adventure.

Wow guys what an incredible episode. I felt so emotional watching those whales do their “whale” things. Mother nature is truly remarkable. You must have felt so small alongside those big creatures 😅

Wonderful views of the south west, and amazing but sombre experience with the orca hunt. Your narration of it was very good.

I’m watching this from Bremer Bay, we own a semi permanent on-site caravan here (which I saw in your episode). It’s an incredible place! Funnily enough we live close to Starvation Bay (30 minutes) so I got all the feels watching this episode 😂 Have never done an Orca tour sadly as I suffer sea sickness and I’m just not game to risk it but loved your vision of it as sad as it was 😢

What an awesome experience out to the Bremer Canyon regardless of the gruesome sight but many friends have had their trip cancelled due to bad weather especially strong winds so lucky to have a sunny day . But Im sure you enjoyed Blossoms Beach and the many other beaches around Bremer as well as the Canyon .

We have spent a lot of time around Whales here on the NSW/VIC Far South Coast and in New Zealand and have seen, heard and felt a lot of 'Whale experiences' but this hunt and 3 whale type experience must have been amazing and sad at the same time. Bremer Bay Orca trip is certainly on the must do list. Also in this video whilst you were filling at water tanks and fishing noticed your water hose and filter, what type of hose and filter is it ?
