Ali was very intelligent! I agree that he's a bit mouthy, but that is his personality! Most WHITES hated him for this, but Ali was sincere & bold with his statements/facts! You either LIKE or HATE Ali!! I loved him for more than just being a GREAT boxer, but a bright outspoken BLACK that didn't mind telling like it is/was!!

@@easygrin1127 Agree. I admire both men, but, even though Ali was really just promoting the fight, I think he went, perhaps a bit too far with Frazier. I don't mind him doing this with Liston or Foreman, as both were unlikable thuggish types. Foreman, would later evolve and do a 180 in the disposition dept, but in the 70s he was a sullen jerk. But Joe Frazier was a good guy, a fighter with enormous heart and a gentleman. He was no match for Ali, in terms of wit, but they were both ring warriors and their three bouts together, were classics, esp the last one. Glad they reconciled at the end.

For those that were not born in this era, Ali was said to be the most well know man on the face of the earth. Remember no internet. No google. His fights were events. I can't think of any other athlete who has had such an impact as Ali did. He was a champions' champion.

Great compliments Christopher about Ali. Most or perhaps all BLACK athletes are/were scared to tell the TRUTH of BLACK struggles, esp when they're making millions! They're scared they'll lose everything. Can't blame athletes today though, because if they did speak truthfully, they'll lose everything. That's another reason why Ali is in a class of his own! There was NEVER another athlete to speak out on LIFE'S STRUGGLES like Ali. He said that MOST wouldn't, but wanted to. "YOU CAN'T TAKE NOTHING FROM ME I AIN'T HAD". You gotta love how Ali handled WHITE AMERICA,.esp in those days!!

All we can do is learn from him and make sure we stand up to oppression and not leave it in the hands of others. Peace.

What an incredible difference between listening to the profane, money waving, gold draped lowbrows posing as greatness over the last few decades. No one has ever had Muhammad Ali's charisma. Joe Frazier did not get the credit he deserved for his intelligence. He understood very well about promotion and marketing. Few understood how good of friends Joe and Ali came to be. This kind of character and respect is sorely lacking in sports period. Let alone boxing. Boxing could be the headline sport it ONCE was. We just don't have any headliners. But then again. There will never be the likes of these two gentlemen fighters again.

Hello Warrick,I'm sorry that you have been very misinformed about theirrivalry , I can tell you where you can look at the documentaryyourself and you could see that Ali was always annoying and very disrespectful. It was on the HBO special I think you can find it on DVD, but if you ever get the chance to see it, I thinkyou will be giving me another reply saying that I was absolutelyright. Thanks for the reply.A. Morris

@@angelamorris6598 You are right Angela, Frazier did help Ali out when he was band from boxing. Ali went a bit too far with some of the things he said to Frazier. But I think it was because Ali knew Frazier was the real deal. He couldn't get to Frazier as easily as he could with other opponents.

They were, especially that Oreo comment by the main interviewer, who had the nerve to harp on Ali about mentioning color. I stand with Ali. You simply couldn't put anything past the white folks from that era. American society was still VERY racist at that time, and thankfully, Muhammad Ali vocalized it EVERY CHANGE HE HAD! Much respect to the brother. He was not afraid and knew his worth!

great vid!! Ali had a great effect on my life. I played and loved sports, but rarely watched boxing because seemed boring. two guys beating each other up. when Ali came around and he stirred up a lot of feelings in people exposing a lot of racism. also, I remember racist people wanting to see someone beat / shut that "N" up. those behaviours and reactions hooked me in with Ali, to be entertained by him. i have always supported his method, his style, his truths, his opposition to a useless war. he talked that way to his opponents , to bring in large crowds.he was a showman!! . joe frazier loved Ali. I seen joe get teary eyed talking about Ali s parkingsons disease. I seen him sitting with joe after they retired, as friends. all the fighters who fought him, should appreciate the big money purse he brought to their fights. the big names like joe frazier , George forman , larry holmes, etc, give their gratitude to Ali. Ali was a good human.
