RARE JDM Championship White Type R - Civic Type R EP3 Review - PerformanceCars

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

I am in a Civic Type R EP3 once again but this time it is the Facelift JDM model with lots of rare goodies for those hardcore JDM fans. This JDM EP3 is completely standard, it loved to rev to the redline at 8400rpm and the handling is really good for a standard car. With so many extras, upgrades and Championship White paint, why did the UKDM EP3 not come with any of these parts? I really do wonder sometimes but that's what makes this car rare and desirable.

    Just wondering how do you think this JDM EP3 compares to the JDM FD2R? The EP3 is the only JDM Civic Type R that we are allowed to import in Australia, FD2R are not permitted for import, so I was wondering how they compare... Is it a reasonable substitute? Better than FN2 which was sold in Australia? :)

    TassieLorenzo I've always wondered this as well. I've previously asked performance cars this question. Think he's in Japan so hopefully here back.

  • @PerformanceCarsChannel

    @PerformanceCarsChannel

    7 жыл бұрын

    Hey TassieLorenzo & JDMsweetness, I've been back from Japan a couple of weeks now but have been busy with my preparation for this year's racing. In my personal opinion, the FD2 is the better Type R. The longer wheel base really helps in the corners and even though it has 2 extra doors and a larger trunk than the EP3 and FN2, it feels a lot livelier. Suspension is very stiff from standard too! You also sit further back in the FD2, this is because the engine sits fairly deep compared to the EP3. One thing I do enjoy about the EP3 is drive by wire. The drive by throttle in the FD2 is really sensitive but at the same time, it doesn't give the feel of being a part of the car if that makes sense. But if I had the choice between the JDM EP3 and the FN2, I would have to pick the JDM EP3. What's your opinions guys?

  • @TheKevzx6r

    @TheKevzx6r

    7 жыл бұрын

    PerformanceCars Personally I'm ep3 JDM because I own one; however I would really like to drive the fd2. I reckon it would have the edge on the ep3, that's a definite. They put the fd2 against the fn2 on 5th gear and the UK fn2 is utterly humiliated by fd2. Real type R's are made in Japan. 🇯🇵👍🏼 I also believe the fd2 has better cams. The guy who imported my car has an fd2 apparently it's being turbocharged 😎

    Not a big difference really from the Euro car but it is slightly better! It’s easier enough to get a k pro remap and with a few mods hit 240 bhp. It will then do 60 in second which is pretty awesome

    Emma Deeba JDM has the legendary k20A engine with forged pistons and rods. Cams are higher lifting too. Has a chromoly flywheel. Has a lsd. Has better track oriented suspension, thicker antiroll bars, better cat. It's champ white paint with red carpet and benched seats. It's fucking much better car to drive and they're rare as fuck. Also has about 1000rpm more on the limiter vtec is stronger and kicks in harder and lasts longer. So it's more than 20horse.

  • @tomahawkmedia2546
    @tomahawkmedia25467 жыл бұрын

  • @PerformanceCarsChannel

    @PerformanceCarsChannel

    7 жыл бұрын

    +Tom Hoare I can't really comment much about the acceleration. But saying that, everytime I do these acceleration tests, it's from a very low rpm and rolling start compared to revving it high and dumping the clutch from a standstill. It's hard to compare other owner's EP3's to this as they could have modifications, empty fuel tank etc. The cars I review are always filled with fuel to the maximum as I weigh the car before filming anything else. Hope that explains a bit more :)

    Tom Hoare. 6.6 is the book time for the Ukdm model, 6.2 is the Jdm time. The Integra is a lighter car than the Jdm Ep3 with identical K20a engines, so no way is it quicker than the Teg.
