RARE CATCH While Commercial Bottomfishing (First One I'd Ever Seen)

Steady action on a day of small-hook commercial bottomfishing out of Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina. We had a nice variety on the day, and caught one fish that is a highly unusual catch in North Carolina.

That’s why I love North Carolina fishing! I know yellowtail is rare, but your water has everything (cold and tropical)! Keep up the wonderful videos❤

Appreciate you including the species of some of the infrequently caught fish. Saves me time looking up their names.

Those conditions for that part of the coast look stellar especially for winter. Oh and good man blocking out the captains chart, spots that produce are hard earned.

Video makes it look a lot nicer than it was! We were hoping to go further this day but the ocean decided to protect its resources. The boat ride out was a tease!

Let's hope the Yellowtail Snappers invade our waters! Especially since we can't keep their red brothers. Nice video.

Kinda takes the fun out of fishing, I don't care for boat rides off shore anymore.

Where are these fish being sold . Japan because the US taxpayers are spending $ millions to maybe Billions at this point . These fish are certainly not found in a grocery store . If so I would suggest a picture. These fish are found at the South East Asia markets and Japan markets and they export fish like the mosquito eating Talapia and South America like Argentina export there fish to the US which is farmed .

The US taxpayers spend $billions managing a fishery for South East Asia and Japan.. where only very few of the Quota is sold in the US and its not at any grocery store.😅

@@jimmyfumbanks6081 Go to any fish house in the southeast and u will see all these varieties of fish on the display counter. Most fish houses can’t get enough to supply the tourists so I doubt they ship to Japan. Now bluefin tuna is another story.
