Here is a early Black Forest musical clock called a harp clock or Hackbrettuhr. The clock plays 6 different musical tunes on a stringed instrument. The musical tunes are primitive, but its an amazing piece when you consider the time and place it was made. Now 225 years old.

So very beautiful - a lovely old clock with a very peaceful and harmonious tune. And it absolutely is amazing given it's age!

Hurrah! What a wonderful melody! When the clock plays melody with addition of more notes that sounds as chords gives the pleasant sense. The music played by the clock sounds like guitar. Even if quartz clocks electronically imitate the same (music played on stretched strings and hour strike sound on cup shaped bell by this clock). It can't beat the real musical clocks like this. Real musical clocks are always real and electronic imitation is always imitation.

It's basically a Zither played by the Clock, the Hammers hit the strings (they'll need to be replaced cause they're old & rusty).

It obviously has not been tuned in many years so the sound is not great but it sounds cool in its own right
