"Let's Go To The Fair and Futurama"! Take a quick trip back to the New York World's Fair of 1964-65 and catch a glimpse of the General Motors Avenue of Products within the pavilion, where you'll see Firebird IV and GMX concept vehicles, as well as other GM imaginations. Sources include rare still transparencies and rare Super8mm movie film of some of the concept cars.
Music remastered in Dyna-Stereo and yes, it is pitch-shifted - F.U. copyright AdSense stealers.

    The Super 8 format was first introduced in May of 1965, only 5 months before the fair's closing, and it would've taken a little while for the public to accept and experiment with that new technology. While it is indeed possible the footage shown is super 8 it's far more probable that it was shot in standard 8mm format, which was much more prevalent at the time.

    If my memory is correct, one of the dioramas we rode through was of the forest in Africa---and a huge machine cutting a swath through it and laying down a highway. Thankfully, our ideas on that have changed!

    Will they ever build cars with the long pointed nose like the red one ? I think the flat bumpers on cars is safer.

    A couple of them GM recycled some five years later with different paint jobs and a couple of tweaks. They were the vanguard of the future but even for them it seemed to have peaked at 1964.
