@@slugger7512 Yes and there made for that to, there to big and heavy to trail ride. That's why you never see them on trails because handling is isn't that good and it's big to throw around in the corners.

I actually based my decision to get the Raptor 700 based on your videos. Already having a little Polaris Sportsman 550 EFI, Honda Pioneer 1000-5, I wanted a little lightweight/ large displacement machine to do jumps and also be fast with. While the idea of either Polaris 1000 machines or Can-Am Renegade 1000 are nice, the price and feistiness and based on your videos, the speed of the Raptor sold me. Actually went and bought the last one I could find within a 100 miles directly after watching your video. lol

Yeah my friend has a modded raptor 700r and off the line you can feel the engine in your chest! I tried riding it and it scared the living hell out of me. But I just couldn't get enough of it either!

Great job; its nice to see a drag racing video that really does a great comparison. I have plans for a grab bar mounted camera to try to make it look like Playstation but i never did it because I thought it would vibrate like crazy; your setups worked pretty smoothly 🤘

I think we did a good job comparing the machines. I cut out 2 other runs so we did a total of 8 passes. One of the times I caught my camera on my bar pad lol.. I was definitely surprised by the rear cam for it being a quick idea. I know if it has a little better reinforcement and is shorter it should really be steady for capture. Now I need a 3rd hero7 if i'm going to run bumper cam and both helmet cams.. It never ends lol 😅 PS I'm patiently waiting for the next 250R vid 😬

It would be awesome to line them up on pavement. I'm pretty confident chads 450r would walk me up until the higher speeds just due to the different gear ratios. His 520 big bore kit makes that thing an animal, it's so fast lol

Raptor 700 is faster than 450 in top speed, but 450 is faster in acceleration.

Thanks for the new video! I'm not sure why but your new mount off the back along with the helmet mount you've been using scares me. I don't want to be negative, but I wouldn't want a bunch of plastic breaking in front of my throat if I crashed. Same feeling as to where that extra metal from the back mount could end up in a crash. Love the videos but I want you to stay safe!

I've thought the same thing about my helmet mount that's zip tied to the chin bar. I do plan on getting a new helmet and using this Dango mount in the future. Since the Dango mount isn't permanently fastened I feel like it would break away in a crash just fine. It's definitely a different story with that metal bar off the back. Thats why I didn't hit any jumps with it at the end. If I do anything more with the rear angle I want to have it professionally fabricated with all the sharp angles ground down. Maybe something could be rigged up out of PVC instead 🤔 I really appreciate your concerns about my safety!

I have a question, I just recently bought a 660 raptor and instantly had a problem with the bearings messing up, just replaced them but I am wondering do these quads have problems with them, do they usually mess up after a while or do they last?

Sounds like it has some good parts already! I do have my parts list in the video description. My favorite upgrade has definitely been the Precision stabilizer, it makes riding a lot easier and more relaxed

Why did you buy a new quad if you don’t have the money? If I were you I would of bought a 450 or 400 a little bit old and save some money and gain some power

I have the big three. Power commander 5, FCI intake with a box, and a Rossier full system. The machine still has 3 years of warranty left so no more engine mods until after that!

I need to know what exhaust that is I love it

man I wish I could race you Pete :) I'm sure it be a very close race, my limiter cuts out at 86mph currently with the 22's and 1 one up on the front sprocket, I've raced a stock 2020 Raptor and I'm not gonna lie he wasn't that far back but my longer ratio walks away, what sprockets are you using Pete ?

I still have the stock gearing. I'm assuming it goes 79/80. I'm sure it would push that 85ish mark with a 15 tooth front sprocket. When I replace the chain and sprockets I'll most likely go up a front tooth to stretch out the lower gears. I'm not too concerned with top speed since it's really only a factor in a situation like this. It sure would be fun to ride with a DS. They're pretty dang rare!

@@PeteHager yeah cause with a raptor 700 even if you go taller on the front you won't lose that much acceleration with all the torque it makes already, and yes for sure they are, the majority of them are wrecked or just really in bad shape, they get a bad rep due to the weight and no reverse but for a 500lbs sport quad they still hang in stock form with modern sport quads haha, I find most people who have them are younger teenagers that think just because its known for having a good top end they end up buying them and talking trash to others, that's the problem with most Ds650 owners, I'm never been bias I love all machines I only have a Ds650 cause its comfy, motors are solid and it was clean when I bought it, I was really inspired in 2004 when my older cousin raced in the 12 hour endurance race of LaTuque Quebec, ever since then I couldn't find a 02 or 03 baja haha, found a clean one and didn't mess around jumped right on it, keep them coming Pete, best quad guy on youtube :)

I put a video of my atv ride on youtube, but the wind noise was awfull. So, i also ordered an adapter for the gopro and a small microfoon also. Thanks for the tip !

The IRS really keeps the power down and it can be difficult to slide. As with any quad once you get comfortable on it I know it can be tossed around but I've never gotten to that point. I'd say if theres one thing Mike complains about it's not being able to slide nearly as easily as a straight axle sport quad will

I recommend a power comander it really boosted my 2008 raptor 700

Try mounting it the same way to the front of the frame and securing it to your bumper for rigidity. I run it like that when I go to the dunes and it makes some pretty cool camera shots 😉... like a donkey chasing carrot 😂. P.S. try it with a bend so you don’t see the pipe/bar and it appears on camera that it floats kind of like a drone.

Unless your looking to race in a specific youth class it would make more sense to upgrade to a bigger machine if your exceeding the limits of your current model. Maybe it’s time for a 250??

That long extended mount is ugly and gotta go Pete! Lollol!! Just messing! Had to pick for the simple fact you said not to! Lol It worked well! Definitely glad Mike and his daughter was ok after the crash! I had immediately noticed the bars and he gave us the 411 right after! It definitely hasn't stopped him from riding two wheels and ripping! Lol 💪 Good races! Like Mike said, if you can get that launch down packed, you'd have em every time!! Nice Chevy he had there too!! Oh yeah, and me being a farmer, it looked like that field may have been planted!! 😖 LoL Hopefully the guy will be merciful if it is! Lol Staying tuned!!

Terrell that camera position definitely isn’t pretty or convenient😅 unfortunately it’s the only way I know how to get that “on the quad” feeling. I’m impressed with the new quick mount set up and I’ll have a short video soon showing everything in more detail. Mike knows the owner of that field so hopefully we’re good.. this was filmed quite awhile ago as well. I’m behind on editing but there’s good stuff coming! 😬

I guess they mow or lay down the corn stalks cuz usually if we aren't planting peanuts or beans, the corn stalk nubs are still standing until we rip it to replant corn and then they get laid down! But Good deal tho!! I ride all along the edges of our fields year round and boss man know when theres nothing out there I'm gone be iN the field! Lol Glad you guys had fun!
